  How is the sound on these for music?

  I've got a heap of google mini & hubs, but the echo show 8 sound quality is significantly richer.

    I've got the nest mini and it's more vocals focused than the echo dot. It depends on your preference in music. The echo sounds more full but is also more distorted.
