none of them are in the city (cbd). broadway is still too far from cbd.
This deal is to do with the Sydney Roosters so that's why it's mostly Eastern Suburb stores.
only for NSW.
You might want to include:
Only stores in NSW.
Only from the classic coffee range: latte, cappuccino, flat white and long black.
Small only, total price cannot exceed $10.
"Valid for 3 small classic coffees"
I haven't been to Gloria Jeans for awhile, but I would assume this means 3 small classic coffees would equal 1 normal size coffee.
where does it say Participating Stores only…?
there are more stores than that in in NSW.
After you click BUY.
Expires Sep 9, 2012
VALID FROM 10 AUG 2012. Valid only at the location specified when purchasing. ID must be presented with coupon. Valid for 3 small classic coffees: latte, cappuccino, long black or flat white only. Max 1 per person per day, all 3 coffees valid at specified coffee house only.
A couple of stores in Sydney the rest are Sydney south. Very small aspect of NSW chosen. Bummer.
Nice, one near my work!
There's one right outside my office. However, it is not on the list. Why, universe? Why?!
i don't live near any of those stores.. :(
good deal though
That probably reflects their cost price.
Can't seem to be able to order from their website.
Wonder if you could ask them to do a triple shot, which would be equal to a normal coffee elsewhere. :)
Gloria Jeans = Hillsong.
And that plus the fact that their coffee is crap,is why I never buy coffee from there.
even Meccas coffee (barista brewed) is better than GJ's
I would never buy coffee from a company that funds the Australian Christian Lobby - a group who's primary purpose is to deny and remove gay rights.
I don't care how cheap they are, my integrity is not for sale.
geez calm down guys, Just expressing my view, and part of my integrity is standing firm to my beliefs. I'm not very up to date with this gay rights thing. Can someone please explain it to me just so I can get a better understanding. All I understand is Gay couple's can't get married right? is there anything else? No I am not trolling I just want to know what the situation is right now. Thanks
LOL right. forgot the point of ozbargain :P Thanks for reminding me HAHAHA
I feel my comment was relevant as GJ's actions and stances (google 'Mercy Ministries' if you want to see the worst of it) may cause some potential customers to think twice about their purchase.
I agree though this isn't the place to get bogged down feeding trolls like revolushenary.
wth? a neg for thanking someone…. I wasn't being sarcastic either… what has become of ozbargain! D:
everyone is entitled to their opinion, so stop negging on those who express theirs just because you disagree
Kebab Shops = Muslims
Italian Restaurants = Catholics
Japanese Restaurants = Usually Koreans
Kebab Shops = Muslims
If the Kebab shop was a front for Hezbollah, you might have a point. but it is not.
Wake me up when a happy clappy detonates themselves
i will stick with chinese. safe and sound. only smiling chinese ladies take your order
Website is a bit dodgy. I tried to order ten, but it would only allow me to order one single coupon despite saying on the front page 'Max 1 per person per day' which would suggest the ability to purchase multiple coupons.
Also, you must purchase specific vouchers for specific stores. I was thinking to buy 10 vouchers and use them at Bondi Junction, Randwick and Broadway as I travel between those places often, but as it is I never know where I'll be on any given day, so it's no use to me. I just bought one for Bondi Junction as it's up the road anyway.
Voucher expires 9th September 2012.
I'm a 5 minute walk from 2 of these stores haha.
not gonna use the deal though.
I don't get this at all…
First off it says 3 coffees for $1.
Then it says you can only use the coupon ONCE and then says you can only get ONE coffee per person per day ?
It does state - Max 1 per person per day - but it implies one COFFEE not one coupon…
The annoying this is, it's not clear due to the wording. If it's possible to redeem the coupon for 3 coffees over three days, it's actually more valuable to me. I rarely go to have coffee there with two other friends, and if I do they usually order something like an iced chocolate or frappe, so if I could just order one coffee for myself one day then another the next day it would be perfect. But I suspect they want you to consume all three on the same day, even though the wording could imply otherwise.
You could argue both points - 3 coffees on one day, or 1 coffee over three days - because they are both implied on different places on the website. But good luck trying to argue your case with the low-paid worker who's actually making your coffees.
I do find that Gloria Jeans franchises are run by very different managers. Some (particularly the Mosman store) are fantastic people, really friendly and genuinely want to make sure you enjoy your time there. Other stores the staff just ignore you or go through the motions without much chit-chat.
They don't make the best coffee in the world, but it's dependable. If I'm in a new area and really want a drinkable coffee, I'd go Gloria Jeans over some no-name sandwich shop where they're 80% likely to serve stale burnt coffee made by a 'barista' who did a 1 hour course and doesn't even drink it him/herself. I'd prefer to support smaller shops, but honestly the majority of places selling coffee sell crap coffee anyway. I'll give other places a go on days when I have time to throw it out and try a different shop if it ends up being undrinkable.
Terrible coffee for sale - I'll take three!
Too many conditions, not many stores, and the coffees included in the deal are not going to be the ones people would normally buy from GJs IMO- i.e. people usually go there to order their other less-horrible-tasting coffee-related products.
do you have to redeem the whole voucher i.e. getting all 3 coffees in one go? or can you have the 3 coffees on separate days??
[NSW]
Farrrrrrrrrrrk
Good find
cant register on the site….
unless i use IE, failed in FF and chrome
only bigots drink shit coffee
Gloria Jeans, Hudsons, Starbucks…. Do yourselves a favour, discover some real coffee and support some real coffee shops.
Bought it (why not? yes i know it's not great coffee, but it's one buck, at a location I go past regularly anyway!). Some suggestions for the site:
* Don't require me to specify my football team to register. Make it optional.
* Accept PayPal, instead of requiring me to enter credit card details.
* Send 3 vouchers for 1 coffee, instead of what you get: one voucher for 3 coffees. 3 coffees at once seems overkill, whereas 1 at a time is practical!
Argh! I bought one coucher yesterday, and just tried buying another for a different store today.
he website tells me "Sorry, you've grabbed the maximum quantity allowed for this deal"
I was trying to buy it for a friend who doesn't have a credit card. I guess they don't want my business!
The deal is no longer available
Well the first day this offer was available, we went to gloria in broadway andshe gave me the 3 coffees like I wanted no problem.
I went back this morning and they flatout refused, they said you could get only one coffee per person per day and pointed to the wording on the voucher, I argued it meant one voucher per person per day but didn;t budge.
Unbelievable how they dont give a crap about losing customers by not honoring vouchers. It makes no bloody difference if they give me 3 coffees today or 3 over 3 days, by refusing my request they just lose yet another customer…
why are they so stupid ?
The T&C are badly phrased. Copy writers could do with writing courses showing them how sentences can be ambiguous and cause problems later.
None of them never me.
