Price matching Catch for those that prefer or if Amazon sells out.

    • catch doesn’t have the duo air fryer version.

How does this compare to the Ninja Foodi?

    • Also keen to know - ninja foodi has been really good so if this is nearly as good at this price ide be keen to grab a couple

      • Agree - I love my Ninja one - how it can do pressure cooking, air fry, steam all in one device. I use it so much. I love how one lid can do everything.

        • Link please? I'm looking for a big family sized 8-10L pressure cooker/air fryer/sous vide, to replace my old Tefal COOK4ME which is 6L and too small for us.

    • +2

I prefer the Foodi. It has a single lid that does it all, and the UK model has a temperature probe that you can insert in meat while it cooks/roasts (think beef, lamb, also chicken and salmon). And it turns off when just at the right temp, so never overcooked!

That being said, I got my UK model off Amazon for a ‘great price’ of $500 delivered.

When I compare to the cost of this Instant Pot model, it’s no comparison. BUT I would personally still spend the extra and get the Foodi 😛

      • How's the air frying function on the Foodi? I am thinking of replacing my Target airfryer with this.

        • +1

I think it’s great, but I don’t have experience with other air fryers, so can’t compare to any other experience.

I have made roast potatoes by first pressure cooking in the Foodi to soften them up, then scuffing them up a bit to get more surface area, and then air frying. They have come out perfectly every time!

Other things have been fine also. There should be reviews online, and there are huge Foodi communities on Facebook.

          Haha, nice find!

          Two observations:
          1. It’s 6.5L, so perhaps a little small. The Foodi Max (and this dual lid Instant Pot mode in the original post) are 8L.

          1. No built-in thermometer, whereas the Foodi does.

The Foodi is still far more expensive, so depends on if you think it’s worth it.

But I do think it’s important to get the info out there, for everyone to be aware of their options!

      • +2

This compares the OLD Foodi. The new one is the Foodi Max.

The AU version is the OL650 (careful… it does NOT have the thermometer).

The UK version is the OL750UK (has the thermometer).

UK voltages are similar to Aus, so you only need a simple adaptor to change plug type. There are slimline ones you can get so mine is barely visible.

I've had one for a year, it's a great pressure cooker, however, the basket for air frying is very small. The additional lid takes up a bit of space and means that you have to store two full sized appliances. In retrospect, I would have rather just had an instant pot and a separate air fryer but at this price, I would have bought it again.

      Very helpful comment.

    • Do you know the dimensions of the air fryer basket? I'm keen to know if it's the same size as the basket for the 5.7L (which I have)

Thank you for sharing this. Ordered one.

Was on the fence to buy at $199 from Costco but at this price i had to order one
    Thank you.

  • Can’t find the link for the Instant Pot Vortex Plus Air Fryer 10L $139.3 ?

At this crisp price, I instantly pought it!

  • just checking the air fryer- any reviews/ like 10L seems to be small for a chicken etc

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BNC3GWVM/ref=syn_sd_onsite_de…

    this seems better for $219 and 26 L ?

    • It's got 6 reviews and I don't recognise the brand. If you want to cook a whole chicken, get a bench top oven like the Breville Smart Oven pro or similar. You want something backed with a good warranty.

    • Would also be interested in any people that have bought the Vortex Air Fryer 10L and what they thought. Not sure if the phillips or some other brands are better

We find the 5.7L Crisp (air fryer function) too small for us now that we are more than 2.

      Edit:
Looks like older posts have some reviews but would still be good to get any updates for people that have used it for a long time.

We use our 10L daily and still very impressed after 18 months. We also have a 5L kmart one that lives on the outside BBQ table which is quicker than the 10L for smaller cooks like a single serve of chips or crisping salmon skin.

On really hot days I'll cook outside if possible and the small AF is ideal for that.

  • Thanks OP. Just purchased this week for $228. $7 return fee and repurchase for me.

    • +3

      what's the $7 return fee?
just put in as "Product doesn't meet expectations" and you don't have to pay the return fee

  • -1

I bought the 5.7L a few weeks ago, but just bought this 8L one and will return the 5.7. As an all-in-one, it's pretty useful.

  • I got the Pro version of this and, frankly, I prefer the separate lid to an all in one unit.
    - I’m not dealing with a heavy lid unless I’m frying
    - the lid is detachable which makes stirring easier when sautéing
    - I would be concerned with an “all in one” unit how the water from pressure cooking is kept out of the fryer heating element.

We had a separate air fryer that we gave away when we got this unit. If you’ve already got a fancy air fryer you are probably best to stick with a non crisp version of the Instant Pot. If you have none, or a low end small one, then the Crisp is a pretty decent option.

  • 8L or 5.7L? The 8L looks massive.

    • I'm upgrading. The 5.7L is fine, but I'm thinking that the extra capacity will come in useful with a large household

      • I bought the 8L Pro to go with my 5.7l Duo Novo. Having both means we can be making Yogurt with one whilst cooking dinner with the other one. Or cooking rice/pasta in one whilst making the main course with the other.

  • Out of stock for the Crisp. So quick!

still available at catch, but be quick they're almost gone

  • The Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer 8L came up at well over $200, but it seems to be par for the course for me.

However, I was after the Vortex air fryer and managed to snaffle one at the sub $140 price. So, thanks OP.

  • back to full price at catch and OOS Amazon

  • Thanks OP.

I pulled trigger on 10L air fryer. I have the 2L instant pot airfryer so looking to upgrade bigger one. Hopefully it works great. I'm more used to basket type but price seems good and I get to use my catch gc expiring in few months time.

  • Wondering, how does the 10L vortex air fryer compare to the drawer style Philips XXL air fryer? Appreciate any thoughts.

  • +1

It takes up a LOT of room (Duo Crisp). It needs a lot of storage space. About to sell ours after 18 months as we use the smaller Instant Pot much more and rarely bother with the air frying.

    • +1

From what I am reading around, it seems based on space consumed, you are better off with a dedicated instant pot and air fryer which will allow you to use both devices at once, as well as better air fryer result with a dedicated air fryer.

    • You have the 8L? I'm keen to know if the air fryer basket is bigger in the 8L compared with the 5.7L.

  • +1

I have the duo crisp and reckon it's great. Yes the lid is big but that's not a huge deal. Recommend highly and just bought one for a friend

    • I agree, mine has become a frequently used fixture in my kitchen.. more than the hot wet rice maker 'thermomix'. having a pressure cooker and airfryer in one is quite handy.. just gotta remember smaller batches in the airfryer, not huge batches as the steam won't vent properly.

  • one of the best things in the kitchen!

  • The link for pot duo shows 228$

waiting for the 50L in wall mountable air fryer.
