I know what you're thinking. I get it. Don't mind me though, I'll just sit here and watch the neg counter go up. But remember, no product is perfect in this world. Heymix isn't perfect, and so is your Anker. I'm not here to discuss how shit this brand is, but the discussion is yours. Personally I'm still using a Heymix stuff for a very long time and they have no faults so far. Despite the negatives, I still want to post this deal for the community and if it helps just one person grabbing a good bargain, then I'm happy. Price wise, this is a serious bargain, and it has never gone even close to price. Previously sales have been for $109.99, $99.99 and $90.99 etc

Prime member exclusive deal only. Thanks to @nicholasv for this deal and all other Amazon discount stacking deals along with @Guke. Coupon discount brings it down to all time lows. Stack with discounted gift cards for an even bigger saving! Enjoy :)

a. Make sure to collect the coupon by ticking the "Apply coupon" box before checkout. Alternatively, you can add the product to cart and tick the "Apply coupon" box there. If you DO NOT see the coupon box, the coupon allocation has been fully redeemed. There is no actual code to enter at checkout – you must collect the coupon before checkout.

b. Coupon is SINGLE use. One per account only

c. DO NOT UNSELECT PROMOTIONAL CREDIT AT CHECKOUT. Make sure you leave the "Use your $xx Promotional credit" box ticked at checkout. Amazon considers all Coupon discounts and Prime Exclusive deal discounts as "promotional credit". Therefore, unselecting promotional credit as part of your payment method will cause Amazon to remove any Coupon or Prime Exclusive discounts and thus charge you full price. If the you have Amazon-issued promotional credit in your account and the item you are buying is:

  • (1) Sold and shipped by Amazon, then Amazon will first subtract any relevant coupon or Prime Exclusive discounts, then charge the remaining balance with your Amazon promotional credit. You must pay with the promotional credit you have in your account, otherwise unselecting this will reverse any applied discounts as per above. Here's an example screenshot, where you see the coupon discount is applied (i.e. Your Coupon Saving), as well as the Subscribe & Save discount, and the remaining balance payment is taken out of your Amazon-issued promotional credit (i.e. Courtesy Credit) to complete the order (in this case the Order Total comes up as $0.00 - unless this deal post says free otherwise, it doesn't mean your order is free as you are still using promo credit, something treated as cash). If you do not have enough Amazon-issued promotional credit, then the Order Total will be the remaining balance that you must pay with a Gift Card or Debit/Credit Card.

  • (2) Sold by a Third Party Seller on Amazon, then Amazon will first subtract any relevant coupon or Prime Exclusive discounts (i.e. Promotion(s) Applied under Order Summary // or check below and see Your Coupon Saving), then you must pay the remaining balance with a Gift Card or Debit/Credit Card. Here's an example screenshot where despite me having Amazon-issued promotional credit, Amazon is unable to apply that to the order because Amazon is unable to apply Amazon-issued promotional credit to orders sold by a Third Party Seller. This means that even if you kept the "Use your $xx Promotional credit" box ticked at checkout, the sole purpose is to obtain the discount while your Amazon-issued promotional credit will remain the same as Amazon will not be using this credit to pay for the order.

  • +11

Ta op. Good price, we have 2 heymix gans and they seem ok notwithstanding all the warning labels on ozb. Bought as an all in one compact charger solution for overseas trip. Not sure if it was a dumb move (charger shorts and we're left without power for devices) or smart (burn down entire supply chain in china as retribution for trade sanctions)

    • +4

I did this. Should have been a very good travel charger.
Buuut while I was overseas it killed one of the ports on my laptop ☹️
Didn't realise until I plugged in my phone the next day and smelled burning

Had been working fine for a whole year before that

      • I have their 65W charger.
        Not recommend!
never seen 45W or above out of it. Best I get is just around 40W. I've tested with same cable and devices on other chargers where I get up to 70W output.

        • it sometimes does not charge or charges very slow. on Galaxy S23Ultra it sometimes starts super fast charging but then drops back to 9v fast charge at ~15W in couple of seconds.

never seen it put out more than 9v for any significant time.

your experience may vary but it seems the QC is not good .

I bet most happy customers dont ever measure the actual charge rate and are not aware that they are not getting what was promised and are happy with what they get if the experience is better than the last charger they had (maybe 5v 1.5A?)

        • Definitely something you’re doing. I have a 65w and it outputs that fine. You sure you don’t have more than one device plugged in at the same time, and the device actually wants to draw 65w?

          • @vodamerc: Maybe, but also could just be his unit.

Heymix use the cheapest PD negotiator chips in the market. Not surprising to find some fault of properly/correctly negotiating output

          • @vodamerc: same device , with the same cables gets more from other chargers.
isually I do have other regular 5v low current devices connected, but when testing have always just had USB C device (galaxy phone, laptop or powerbank) connected.

    • +1

Yeah I just ordered that one, after returning a Heymix charger today which was making a loud squealing sound and the plastic casing felt like it was coming apart..

  • HEYMIX sounds like one of those fake Amazon brands. But they sprung for an Australian website at least. So it may be cheap Chinese crap, but at least they are trying harder than the other exact same cheap Chinese crap.

It's kinda funny that some of these fake Amazon brands will end up becoming so popular that they will end up using their money to design their own products and become legit brands one day.

  • +7

Cheers, just grabbed one. Got a few heymix chargers in the past and haven't had issues with them.

Price just way too good for a spare GaN charger for travelling

    • +2

      The comments are hilarious ngl

      • My broken laptop USB-C port and burnt power strip arent very amused :(

  • Personally don't like but had good ones to start with, anyway in amazon pics they use a dbl size power point, a normal size one will hang over the edge and it's weight will slowly unplug itself if left in too long increasing the already hi risk of sparks or fire as mentioned in links above, also 1 of there smaller ones got brittle and broke in my hands taking it out, very glad i turned off first

  • +1

    good that's it's expired. saved $32!

    • +3

      And your family and home.

  • -4

So use it with a surge protect outlet to avoid fire? This could be an easy solution and makes this a bargain. I think most houses built with a circuit breaker anyway. Love to see more sources related to this case

    • +3

A surge outlet won't single-handedly prevent a faulty charger from burning. Especially since it's not normally a power surge.

      • -3

Over current produces excessive heat that causes the fire. I can't think of anything else. And looks like the overheated battery that causes the fire. Phones these days come with temp sensor that can stop the charging or ture off itself when detected

        • +1

They're two different things. Protection against both are important.

          • -1

@Clear: This charger claims to have AU SAA certificated standard so I assume it should be ok unless it is a faulty claim. And I expect no cheap component build based on its RRP

            • +3

@bcYield: They're reusing the same SAA certificate for dozens of products.

        • Have a watch of Big Clive's channel to get an idea of how cheap electronics can fail. You'll be able to see what happens without a circuit breaker tripping.

          • @ihfree: I see quite many testing videos on cheap chargers he got from ebay. Is this the one you refer to? not straight, quite in-depth and a good source for learning. He tries 2kv in the end and tests the safety gap to show the sparking. I will need to rewatch this a few more times I guess to understand haha

    • +1

      That's…. not how it works.

    • +1

      That's not how it works.

  • +1

I thought ozbargain doesn't like Heymix, how come epired so quick ಠ_ಠ

    • i think because its a price error, normally 120w charger would cost at least $50 or more

      • +2

Not a price error, just the way Amazon stacks discounts and sellers are unaware or forget and they can't do anything about it unfortunately as Amazon ships orders too fast and their customer service for sellers takes many hours to get a single reply

        • +1

well good for the customers anyway

    • +3

It's possible that people who didn't like it bought more than others.

    • +2

Exactly, they're just negging and saying sh!t for the fun (or attention) but who knows they're probably lowkey buying as well

      • +1

When it comes to electrical safety and fire, we need to be serious. Yes but not for some people who without a licence do wiring around home. It's a risk still

      • Yes, thousands of cases and hundreds of reports that started before heymix was a meme all for fun.

  • +4

Thanks OP. Just bought one for my future travel. So it will light the hotel room only :)
Joke aside, I have multiple Heymix products at home and they are all working fine.
The customer service team from the Amazon account is good and helpful when you have any issues with the product.
They once sent me a charger for free as my purchase could not charge my laptop and phone at the same time.(They said it was because my laptop is too old…)

    • Yeah seems like only works with USB C ports with 2 way charging

  • Heyspax!!

  • I bought a very similar one, $30~ as well.
Just came back from 3 weeks in Japan - no issues

  • -2

" know what you're thinking. I get it. Don't mind me though, I'll just sit here and watch the neg counter go up. "

Why? Is this one a lemon? What's the deal?

    • -1

I expect better from the members of this site, to just answer rather than downvote.

      It's a question, what's the deal?

  • +2

    The comments here are lit!

  • +1

Damn this deal lasted longer than their products do

  • +6

Everyone here seems to know to be wary already, but may as well throw an anecdote in to reinforce it.

Bought a heymix GaN a year ago, been using it heaps without issue. It was really good.
But then it killed one of the ports on my laptop. And it kept working, I only noticed an issue next day when my phone was plugged in and charging, and while I was wondering why my laptop hadn't charged overnight I smelled burning.

Which makes me think that maybe the laptop port sacrificed itself to prevent the charger from turning into a ball of flames

    • I bought 2 Heymix 65W GaN chargers 2 years ago, never had any problem until I bought a laptop from this deal. Less than a minute charging, the charger became very hot and stopped charging. Then I took out a brand new Zendure SuperPort 4 100W Desktop Charger and the same thing happened again. Now both chargers are very hot within a minute of being plugged in. If they are left unattended they will definitely catch fire.

      • If the charger, cable and laptop are meeting the standard then not likely will caused fire, they just act like a mini heater.

        • I've been using it to charge another laptop and never had a problem. So it must be the laptop, the one I returned already.

  • +2

I have the one from Amazon, one year now still work fines. And I read most of the complains about this charger, also the review from Amazon. With my knowledge and experience, I can say almost all the problem is caused by the cable not the charger itself. Many reviewers are proven lag of knowledge from their description and make the false claim. And you also need to know, bad cable is often caused by users, combine with the lower quality/bad design then easily lead to short burning. Faulty cable, sure has many but they tend to start from very slow to stop charging, then has been throwed out before the burning happen.

    • further more, I notice that when some users taking care of the port/cable, the port and cable never fail, and some users will keep breaking the port and cable, till they got burned one day.

    • +5

So dodgy cables start fire only with Heymix and not other brand and only Heymix users use dodgy cables. Makes sense now.

    • +2

Nice to know that dodgy cables killed 2 of 3 Heymix chargers I bought. But the same dodgy cables worked fine with the Ankers I replaced it with. Logical

    • This might explain one or two cases, but not enough to warrant the widespread issues.

A bad cable is not going to be able to negotiate a current high enough for it to be that dangerous. Without PD/QC negotiation you’re stuck to 5v 1A or 2A max. Any short from that isn’t going to cause much damage as most devices can recover and are equipped to recovery from that very easily.

I highly doubt your knowledge and experience if you think that its cables causing these issues because even in the absolute worst case scenarios with cables shorting left and right, it’s just not possible for the things that are happening to happen.

Even if it WERE hypothetically the cable, you’re saying that the cables that come with them are faulty?

You either don’t know how the protection mechanisms in chargers work, how negotiation works, or what the complaints are. Maybe you also forgot to mention you’re associated to them?

      • -1

Recover from that 1A shorting? Haha It's the device's chip detect and cut the power, but still doesn't stop the short and still can kill the chip.

not possible for the things that are happening to happen? Are you going to say fire as others nonsense claim? If has fire then it needed to recalled because the material is not meeting the standard.

I don't know what the complain are? Are you referring to like the above comments, the same cable works at other device after the accident? Yes that's logical to a tech, in fact a very simple one. But none tech like you just make false claim with your so called experience.

Accused me worked for seller? Wtf a typical loser's accuses when they deny the fact.

Yes I don't know much about the new type c negotiation, thanks god at lease you are nearly right at One thing with so many claim again me. But as all your false claims, its not related.

For anyone seeing this or any other charger has melted casing, not including the ports's surrounding area, please report to ACCC, that is the real concern we need to act on.

  • +1

    Love this firestarter

  • +3

FWIW I have a couple of Heymix GAN chargers for over a year now - no complaints, would buy again.

  • +4

Agree with author, using a number of Heymix chargers and have had zero issues to date. Bought them cheap and accepted the risk. Always keen to hear of new bargains 😀

  • A hot deal this, potentially flaming

  • +8

I’ve got heaps of heymix chargers and all work great. 25w, 65w and 100w models. Hard to believe all these fire stories, seems more like a witch hunt to me.

    • -3

It’s hard to believe because they scrub reviews, engage in paid reviews, and prey on users who arent as savvy with explanations that are straight up false as excuses when things happen.

Even if you don’t believe that they’re failing, the above are just fact, not anecdotes.

      • Do you have any sources to back up those accusations? This is kind of exactly what I mean. I don’t believe reviews can even be removed on Amazon.

        • +1

They cannot tell the difference of fact and opinion(their conclusion), without this fundermental knowledge, they will always find a meaningless excuse, thus endless discussion.

Amazon staff do delete review, but they aslo inform poster after that.

  • +1

Mother trucker. I bought one of these 2 weeks ago before I heard about HeyMix. I am currently charging my phone. Well I am trying to charge it. The phone keeps beeping as in the charge stops, starts again, stops, starts again.

This is indeed a piece of rubbish! :( Hopefully Amazon make it easy to refund.

  • I found the heymix not much different than buying from kmart tbh, neither lasts more than a few months for my kids and least a year for myself as a samsung user (they got iphone and ipads)

  • +2

Received mine today. Actually seems pretty decent, charging laptop and iPads. Was surprised to hear no coilwhine.

  • Just returned to Amazon for a full refund and gave them a 1 star. Brand new product and it kept stopping and starting when trying to charge my phone. Endless loop of charging, stop charge, charge. Phone just kept beeping all the time when it started charging again. Too scared to even try plugging my MacBook Pro in after that. I purchased it for $74 so i expected it to actually work. Absolutely rubbish so I let them know what I thought in the review. :)

    • Mine was DOA 🤷🏽. Think i'll avoid HeyMix from now on.

      • There is no way you could have known. 😉

    • I have a Redmi Note 9 Pro and an Poco X3 Pro, both running ArrowOS. If I plug them in to QC3 chargers, I get the endless start/stop as well however this is with all chargers so I'm not sure if its something to do with the ROM. PD and their own chargers are fine (this Heymix is the same, ok on USB-C, start/stop on USB-A).

Are you charging your phone on the USB-A or C port?

(After a little further testing with my USB meter connected, I realised the Heymix on USB-C is only charging my Poco at 5V up tot about 2.5A (battery is only around 70% anyway). Switching to my Toocki I see it charging at 9V. Plugging back in to the Heymix again, one time out of many I saw it trying to negotiate a higher voltage and the start/stop behaviour so it seems it's only when sitting on 5V that it's working.

The Toocki wont start charging my Latitude 7480 (unless I run it through a USB hub with passthrough) but the Heymix charges fine at 20V)

  • Can anyone recommend a decent 4+ port, 110 and 240 charger at the moment?

Something mid to high end that also won't burn the house down?

Note! Prefer the figure 8 connector, instantly universal easier.

P.s why is "gan" so good?

  • +1

I received mine yesterday. I was a bit worried about it given the comments here so I tried it at first with some older phones that can fast charge and it worked fine (2x ~15w charge - 30w total). It got a little warm but no warmer than any other charger I have.

Then I tried it with things a bit more expensive. I used a USB-C to Magsafe 2 adapter to charge a 2015 13" Macbook Pro at the same time as charging/playing on my Steamdeck and charging my main phone. All devices charged fine and no disconnects. I'd guess around 40w for the Macbook, 22w for the Steamdeck and 15w for my phone. I can't really test any more as those are my most high wattage devices.

This was all only over an hour last night so it's not a long test but I found it to work as advertised. I also noticed that despite a few people here making comments that their charger from this deal was DOA or performed poorly and commenting that they would leave negative feedback - that the only 1 star review added since this deal was posted (this whole year actually) was on the 14th of April with the extremely helpful comment "Average fast charger". Maybe there will be actual negative comments from this deal coming, but as is I do see something a bit fishy about the comments in this thread compared to Amazon reviews and every time I've left a 1 star review on an Amazon product it has been published after a day.

I have a USB power meter thing that can read voltages/amps/watts that I should have tried and will try later to see if there's any significant voltage drop or spikes. I'll comment in this thread if I see voltages lower or higher than what should be outputted across the different voltage ranges and I'll also comment if I run into any other issues with the charger such as disconnections or magic smoke releasing scenarios.

    • Thanks so much for all this feedback.

    • I also noticed that despite a few people here making comments that their charger from this deal was DOA or performed poorly and commenting that they would leave negative feedback

Only one person (gviddy) said they’re going to leave negative feedback fyi.

I’m just happy Prime returns are quite painless and already have my refund.

      • Will you be leaving bad feedback on the Amazon listing then considering it was DOA? I don't understand why so many people appear to be having problems but there's only a single 1 star review left for the entire year on the product page.

Usually it's the other way around in that we would expect more bad feedback on the actual listing.

  • Worked for a week. Now dead.

    • Mine is still working as expected. 60w sharing is the max I have so far for my power bank. What did you charge and any sparking as the rumours?
