Best Business / Casual Gaming Laptop for a $1,500 Budget?

Hi Ozbarginers,

I'm in the market for a new laptop, which will primarily be used for business, however I'd also like to casually game on it (I don't mind playing games on lower graphic settings, however I do want it to be smooth), hence the $1,500 budget. I would also probably prefer dedicated GPU rather than integrated (ie. Intel Iris Xe)

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/745411 - I was looking at this one, however it unfortunately has now expired, if anoyne has any other deals / laptops which have crossed this budget of max $1,500 which I should keep my eyes on, it would be a great help :)

Edit: Probably also worth mentioning that lighter weight is preferred.

    • Thanks for this recommendation. I probably should've mentioned I'm looking for a lighter weight one as a preference (smaller screen is no issue, e.g. 13,14") - but this one is a good option spec wise.

Thx for the recommendation, but yeah as this comment says - probs steering away from the Irix Xe

  • Check out the Metabox website - see if anything on there fits the bill. Everyone in my office has bought one at various times over the last five years and has always been happy with it.

  • Sounds like Kraken M15 but oos everywhere.

  • OP might want to check out ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 2 - Intel® Core™. And I definitely would like to hear what people think about this laptop.

Bit of googling it seems that it it not too dissimilar to i5 1240p.

Thanks for your comment, probably not something I'd get as it has the integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU - but if you're not really going to do any gaming it defintely looks like a good laptop otherwise.

Mind you, I'm not looking to do extensive gaming, but when I am I just want to be able to run something relatively smoothly.
