I think this is the cheapest this TV has been, matching the previous JB Hi Fi price but with additional 8% cashback and free delivery.
Not for everyone but a pretty good deal, yes this is an older TV model but still a great quality unit

2021 flagship
Sony still hasn’t brought out a replacement 83 inch OLED…
Looks like they are price matching with TGG 20% off sale
now. Great TV!
Not the cheapest its been. Holding out for the $4999
It was pretty close to that yday mate @5035 with the 10%off at binglee
I am sure it will be soon.
$5595 at Harvey Norman too if that suits anyway
$5594 at West Coast HiFi

Not the cheapest, it was $5035 yesterday at Bing lee with the 10% off site wide.
Cmon, where was the post, smh. I think I would have pulled the trigger on that, damn
How do I upload an image here, I still have the screenshot from yday, I sent that to Sony and they agreed to price match for 5035.
I think theyll only price match on an active deal
@MaccDogg: Not sure I submitted after midnight
@MaccDogg: Did it upload?
@loveabargain33: Yeh I can see it, thanks. Ill see if i can do anything with that, cheers
Me too! Damn! Question is should I pull the trigger on this or wait?
That sony deal is valid until the 10th of April, I think we'll see some competition in that time, hodl
@MaccDogg: I agree. I saw it advertised at the same price at some other retailers but with delivery.
So plenty of supply.
@MaccDogg: Woah, deals ended wtf
@MaccDogg: All other retailers have jacked up their prices too.
What a a bargain, bought 10
83”?!
for this price, you can buy 2x 75 inch TV
for this price, you can buy 2x 75 inch TV
But that won't get you an 83" screen. You'd need 4 x 42"'s to make the equivalent size, but then you'd have big fat bezels in the middle of your picture
Imagine buying this tv and only getting 1 year warranty
Imagine thinking it’s actually a 1 year warranty on a 5k tv though !
https://store.sony.com.au/warranty.html
Looks like 1 year to me
Australian Consumer Law provides a longer warranty than 1 year, it just means you will need to put some effort in to making a warranty claim outside the year
@ozBfrugal: I do feel for people who don't understand this. Almost works even better than a warranty in my experience ☺️
Almost works even better than a warranty in my experience
In my experience it works better than a warranty. As soon as you mention ACL, all the excuses evaporate.
Sony didn't release a 83inch oled flagship last year. Probably. One coming up on 2023. May be wait till eofy to buy this.
Nope. The XR-83A80L is the only oled they're releasing this year and it's WRGB not MLA. A95L tops out at 77" and will be 8 to 9k just like this was at release.
Obligatory "Thanks OP, bought 5" comment
Obligatory neg for the unoriginal comment.
going in the right direction. at least another 1k to go before I consider upgrading. the price jump from 65" to 83" doesn't make any sense. wonder how long those distributers can hold those massive boxes in their warehouses. only a matter of time before they have to get stock moving.
The price shows $6,995.00 today. WTH!
Can price match at Sony!
How old is this model?
