      Thanks! Description amended.

    • What if my delivery is past 7 April? I can't claim the redemption?

  • +1

    Time should be 2200 AEDT

    • Updated, thanks!

  • Anyone know of its egift or physical card? I may have missed that on the promo page somewhere

    • +3

The e-gift card awarded will be a MasterCard Electronic Gift Card from https://corporateprepaidgiftcards.com.au/. The e-gift card value will be determined depending on the product purchased as outlined below.

      That should clear things up.

      • Awesome thanks!

  • Anyone received their gift card? I have submitted the claim a month ago, still haven't received anything. Cheers.

    • For valid claims, please note the E-gift cards will be emailed to successful claimants within 28 days of the close of the claims form (7 April 2023)

Is what my receipt from WD says… I doubt they're even going to look at the pile until submissions end.

Claimed for the Christmas 2022 period which closed Jan 15th
Didn't get my card until Feb 8th, so you might be waiting a while

  • Would this be good as a portable hard drive for storing large data sets? Of course with the addition of a hard case for the drive.

Damn just got the 980 Pro from Samsung, lots of good deals going around!

    • How much did you get that one for? 1tb?

      • About 130 in the recent Amazon US deal

  • damn bought the 570 for 99+20 dollar mastercard。

  • Excuse my lack of knowledge. I ordered the 970 Evo Plus 1TB, previous Ozbargain link via Amazon for $99.
    Is this a better drive?
Could someone please tell me how this compares to the 970 Evo Plus & the 980 Pro?
    Many thanks.

    • +3

This one is gen 4 while 970 Evo plus is gen 3, specs-wise SN770 outperform nearly in everything but DRAM-less (while 970 Evo plus has DRAM). 980 Pro is basically gen 4 upgrade with every specs beef up from 970 Evo plus, therefore better than SN770. Though 980 Pro has an issue right now (check any 980 Pro post in the comment), and more expensive.
In general, if you have Gen 3 system then go for 970 Evo Plus. If you have Gen 4 system don't want to spend more money then go for this one. SN770 should be the only 1tb gen 4 ssd under 100$ right now with relevant speeds (as we have Kingston NV2 for ~80$ but that one is Gen 4 on paper with Gen 3 speed actually).

      • DRAM less means I cant use it as a boot drive and have OS on it, right?
So since the 970 EVO plus and SN770 are similar price, it's a no brainer. Just get the SN770?
Thanks for replying, much appreciated :)

        • +1

No, this would be fine as a boot drive.

        • +1

          Yes 770 no brainer.

      • +2

KC3000 is a bit cheaper than 980 Pro and is a safer bet. DRAM, TLC, Gen4, solid performer.

  • This or a PCIE 3.0 card with DRAM? The M.2 slot on my mobo only goes up to PCIE 3.0 x4

    • +1

Probably go for 970 Evo plus if your mobo support gen 3 only. Though if you plan to upgrade to gen 4 mobo soon then worth getting a gen 4 SSD now, since gen 4 SSD pricing is really low and not that expensive compare to gen 3 ssd

      • Thanks for the advice

      • +1

He can still buy gen 4 ssd and use with gen 3 board right? What's the point buying 970 Evo plus?

        • yeah but it will be bottle-neck by gen 3 board. That's why I leave the option open: if he gonna upgrade to gen 4 board then by gen 4 ssd anyways.

          • @Masticccc: It will be bottlenecked, but the 770 has better iops, so for random reads and writes and overall, even on gen3 board, the 770 will faster than 970 evo?

  • Is it a DRAM version?

    • +3

      It's DRAM-less

    • +1

      No, it's HMB.

      • thanks guys

  • so do I need to wait till 10pm to order to get the bonus?
Can the $20 Mastercard Gift Card be used for any purchases, not just this company's site?

Ordered the 2TB from Amazon a few days ago. Sold and Shipped by Amazon AU, eligible for the gift card?

    • Check WD link above for redemption, think Amazon may not be there as an included seller from past experience.

  • I would also note that currently it's also adding a 'HP 15.6" Duotone Red BriefCase' as a freebie. If that sticks around to when the price drops at 10pm is anyone's guess.

  • $12.5 to ship an SSD

  • Does anyone have any good deals of this SSD for the 2TB version? Thanks.

  • It's cheaper to get this from ebay if you have ebay plus with code MEAS17

it comes down to $115.37 incl shipping whereas this is $109+shipping (from $9.90)

    • FYI, free shipping for this deal.

      • my bad missed the free shipping bit :(
