Is it just me or is there something slightly terrifying about using a 22kv/32A cable from a non-brand with zero accountability?
If you want a more reputable seller … https://evse.com.au/product/5-metre-type-2-to-type-2-ev-char… - use EVSE10 to get 10% off
Btw, I bought a no-name cable from ebay, $165 - surprised by the quality
yes I was interested this one. They were on 20% discount but I wasn't sure if they meet Australia standard and I don't need a three phase one. Is working well on your EV?
@jimwh: Meets Australian and European standards, came with a manual in German (seems to be sold in Germany, well written instructions), English, Italian, …
Charges as expected, up to 7kw (limited by my car).
@dragonos81: Thank you for the feedback. Hopefully works with my atto3.
Hey dragon, can you comment on the quality of these cables?
Have you had any issues with the 5m one since the purchase?
Thanks in advance!
@pickledkimchi: no issues, compared to a 7m one that I've in my untethered home charger (almost double the price, installer included it) no difference. Handles don't have a rubber coating but that's about it. It charges.
@JimwhThats type 2 to type 1
yes i knew. This one was $165…
@jimwh: Type 1 plugs are phased out everywhere except Ummericuh. So will be cheaper.
Anyone know what I need to add internally so it can be used at a Tesla Destination charger.
Ie. What resistors and diode? (need to fake a 8v signal).
A next of kin IC and if you want to make it really easy, wrap the whole thing in a fireproof copy of your will.
22kW is well outside of random stranger electrical advice territory…
22kw is via the main live pins only if the handshake takes place, AND the cars on board charger can handle it. "Chargers" are really just AC outlets. The cars have the actual chargers (most are 3 -7 odd Kw).
So I'm talking about the com lines. Ie. CP. that does the hanshake. 12v and probably 0.1A.
Now sure about buying a cable like this from a secondary seller on Amazon.
