    $45 kg - that's a pass from me.

Fancy Shopify page, a nice marketing agency for packaging and UVP, that's it. $68 bucks for 1.5 kg coffee. What a business.

I don't want to be disrespectful, but I see a coffee deal here every day. Five coffee roasters are within walking distance, and I don't live in Melbourne. The margins need to be incredible. It's your money, but don't pay these prices.

The coffee spot price is already relaxing: https://www.statista.com/statistics/675807/average-prices-ar… The difference between 2014 and 2022 for Arabica beans is only 20%. Considering the inflation, the coffee prices are not high at all! Please compare some deals from 2014 with today. Sure, rents, wages increased, but not that much that the coffee costs $45 per KG.

And yes, if businesses are fair-trade and support the local farmers, the price will probably double. Considering taxes and shipping costs, roasters and employment costs, I would still say the price per KG is below $10 or probably between $10-$12 max.

And yes, please find me annoying. If I can only have a little bit impact on increasing the awareness for these ridiculous prices for these shops and helping some coffee lovers here, I am happy.

To be fair I bought a 250g bag of El Borbollon by 5 Senses from my local coffee shop and got the best coffee I've had at home from it. Its $59 a KG from their website and I'm considering ordering more. https://fivesenses.com.au/collections/coffee/products/el-bor…

I know its not apples to apples because its a single origin, and I'm not trying to defend OP, but coffee prices of less than $60/kg for specialty coffee isn't necessarily a bad deal (if its good coffee, I haven't tried OP's blends).

I also paid 14.50 for a bag of Maple from Ona, and thats not even one of their expensive blends. https://onacoffee.com.au/products/maple

Honestly most of the coffee beans I want to try are in the $50-$60/kg range.

  • 1x500g bag was $21.75 previously but 3x500g is $68?

    • Hi M9

The previous sale was 25% off, while this sale is only 20%.

We try to promote different products at different discount levels so please keep an eye out for future 25% off specials.

      • If $21.75 consists of 1x500g bag + 1 lof of freight, 3x500g bags should be way cheaper than $68 considering you do not need 3 lots of freight.

  • I like to think the growers are getting a fair price for their coffee and their interests are being protected. I'm more than happy to pay for fair trade coffee and the skill of the roaster who buys this way and their skill involved.
