I think this just for the extra 1000 rewards points.

      • +1

1000 rewards points = $5, is that right?

        • +3

Yes, although you can not redeem them until you reach 2000 —> $10

      • Coles currently have (targeted) 1000pt for $100 spending or 2000pt for $130 spending

    • +2

and technically more countries included in international calls

    • -1

Apart from both being Optus… Amaysim offers a superior product at almost the same price as Coles…
If Boost picked up their game we would have better competition…

    • +1

I think Amay sim has esim option and coles doesn’t!!! Can anyone confirm??

    • -2

      Coles is cheaper.
Renewal is usually $96 (they usually offer 20% discount) if done on or before expiry.
      amaysim renewal is $149.

      • Yes but Coles is $120 after the 20% discount for their 120gig plan. $96 is for their 60gig plan.

        • -2

          Ah! yes correct.
Coles is only good if you need less data.

          • @crazyboy: Both are 120GB, not less data. Unless I'm missing something?

            • +1

Interesting question. I would like to know that too.

      • @Scrooge McDeal - indeed, if it stacks, the effective cost of this promo is $97.10 which really makes it worthwhile. My current Vodafone 365 plan (which I also bought from Woolies for $125) expires in Dec. Hope the expiry is 365 days from purchase! Gotta check T&Cs.

        • +1

If there is an someone associated to Woolworths that could answer that question.

          • @Scrooge McDeal: lmao, I'd rather delete my question and go try out myself on Wed. If it works, I pay, if not, I walk than to risk someone patching it.
I paid via discounted GCs last time @Scrooge McDeal

            • @nsingh21: Yes there are quite a few programs that you can get discounted gift cards. But if 10% stacks that's even better.

              • +1

@Scrooge McDeal: @Scrooge McDeal haha yeah, been using the Coles VISA @7.3% discount to buy Woolies GC @ 5% off.

                • +1

@nsingh21: Wow you take it to another level.

                • @nsingh21: Could you teach me how to do this? I'm using Woolworths Mobile, and could only get 4% discount on Woolworths GC

  • +1

I would get Amaysim simply because it's easy to deal with them.

    • +1

Also more countries to international calling.

      • If that's something that you need, and to those missing countries, yep.
I've been using apps to call family and friends for years OS so I never consider what countries are included, but I understand this will be different for everyone: )

  • +1

Anyone know when we'd have to activate these by?

    TIA

    • +1

No details on amaysim website or Woolworths website.

    • +3

      Terms and conditions state:

3.2. How do I activate an amaysim UNLIMITED Mobile Plan?
3.2.1. If you want to activate an UNLIMITED Mobile Plan for the first time the activation will take place
upon receipt of the first payment.
3.2.2. If you are a Post-paid customer, we will charge the price of the Plan against your chosen payment
method. If you have not added a payment method with us we will activate the Plan upon receipt
      of your payment.
3.2.3. If for any reason an UNLIMITED Mobile Plan is activated before we receive a payment from you,
we will attempt to deduct the charge from your chosen payment method. If payment fails we may
restrict access to the Service until your payment has been received.

It's a bit confusing! I'd hold off to ask Cust support tomorrow.

    • +3

I just asked CS via live chat and they said it has to be activated by 90 days.

Score! Jumping from my 1 year Boost deal which expires in May.

  • Great except its with Optus.

Hopefully there will be a Boost or Woolworths long-term sim soon

  • +3

I currently have just under 1TB banked. 😂 Love them! 👍👍

  • Assume receiving sms while overseas is not an issue?

  • +1

So this one is for new customer/number only?

    • +1

Yes, porting in or new number.

  • Pair this with 10% Woolies discount makes it $102.1 after discount and $5 worth of points. Just over $8.50 a month damn cheap.

    • How do you get 10% Woolies discount?

      • +1

By having woolworths insurance or mobile plan

Might need to check terms to confirm if it can be used and it's not excluded. I'd be v interested

      • 1 type of WW (pet/home/car) insurance (or mobile plan) gets 10% off shopping once per month. You select which shop/transaction this is applied to.

    • Woolworths T&C's say "excludes mobile recharge"

So I guess the question is whether this counts as a mobile recharge or not? Feel free to post here if you're successful with this discount.

      • Previously has been reported that 10% off works. Not sure about paying with gift cards too (which would discount this kit further).

        • I've been regularly buying SIM packs with discounted GCs

  • This or Woolworths Mobile?
My wife is using Woolworths, and we have 10% discount on one shop per month.
If I also use Woolworths Mobile, will we get 10% off for 2 shops each month, provided that we are using only one Rewards account? (I dont want to create another Rewards card for this).
    TIA.

    • No, you need 2 rewards accounts for 2 numbers.

    • Depending on where you live you might be better with Amaysim. Optus owns Amaysim outright so Amaysim uses the full Optus network with no restrictions. Whereas Woolworths only gets allocated a part of the Telstra network.

      • If you want Woolies discount then maybe Woolies is better. Or just get the everyday extra @$59 a year (you can use the same rewards account).. Also on 24th April woolworth mobile is increasing cost (but doesn’t say by how much).

        • +1

$170 for the 365 day plan.

          • @GTR12: Thanks for that. Won’t be very competitive then, I think better to buy a separate cheap sim plan (like the amaysim here) and then everyday extra @$59 imo.
It’ll work out cheaper and you get more data (this one is 120gb vs 100gb).
That way you’ll keep open to more discounts as well. Shame on woolworths mobile.

            • @fozzie: They are increasing it to 125GB

  • If data isn’t a concern then the 1 year plan with 60GB for $99 isnt a bad deal. I am looking to get this as my work line and don’t really need the data as I have plenty on my personal line. Can you change the plan close to the 12 month renewal to a month to month or not??

    • Yes

  • I’m currently with Amaysim, can I port out then port back? How many days do i have to wait after port out?

  • Is there any choice for short international travel, 1 week, southern east Asia, China

  • unfortunately amaysim is bit of a joke, i ported in from boost for a month so far nearly two weeks in, i still can't recieve SMS, my incoming caller ID just says unknown, and when they escalated the issue to optus it has resulted in me not having any of the above and now my Data is gone too.. lol

anyone know if i can port out even though i can't receive sms' i know others providers want to send you an sms to confirm etc…

    • Sounds like what happened to me when I ported from belong to boost. Eventually after many chats with boost, they gave me another number to call to speak to some technical team. After speaking with them for 2 consecutive days, they finally resolved the problem.

Is there anyone to escalate in within amaysim? That is a joke and unfortunate that stuff like this still Happens. It's ridiculous

      • I chatted and called and apparently this is the 'escalation' point and they only email… Ive sent 3 follow up emails and spoken to chat yet again lol nothing… So frustrating

  • Can I buy now and activate the sim after the promotion period (e.g., in May)?

    • Someone said 60 days to activate

  • essentially the same deal and price as coles. need to make a decision tomorrow.

    • +1

Go Amaysim definitely. Their app and customer service was great when I was with them, and they have e-sim compatibility if you need it.

      • Amaysim is 💯 better. They also offer extra data and discounts for customers that stick around.

  • I just bought the boost 1 month for $9.

Can I buy this and port back after those 28 days or old customers excempt?

    • Yes, I’d say so but chat to amaysim to be safe

  • I used Amaysim before and feel it's not as good as Boost.

    • +1

problem is boost is $200 now

      • True…

  • +2

Might be worth a mention that Amaysim has been known to hand out bonuses to existing customers.
I am on the 180GB 12-month plan and I got allocated an extra 60GB of data a few months ago. Still more than I need but nice to know it's there if I need it.
Plus, my Speedtest just said 274mbps download, not too shabby for 4G…

  • +3

Hi All - I bought one today.

Confirming that you can apply the 10% discount from Woolworths Insurance/Mobile , but you cannot pay by discounted giftcards

  • Can this Sim card receive SMS while overseas? No need to send but to receive SMS for bank verification/log in?

  • Purchased today $107.10 using woolies 10% off, paid with gift card. No sticker scanned at the right price

  • Having difficulties activatiing on website and app. Not a good start

Our shopping cart isn't working right now…
Whilst we twiddle with the on/off switch, we suggest you come back later and try again.

  • Anyone having trouble activating chat told me to use incognito mode, also if its hanging in the app after, restart app.

  • Can I activate this after 2 months from purchase date?

    • +1

I want to activate mid July. Someone said 60 days someone said 90 days 🤷

      • +1

Just chat with Amaysim. They said "Since the sim is actually a starter kit, you can actually activate it anytime."

        • great, thanks for sharing. I hope you saved the screenshot of the chat :)

        • +1

I checked the actual pack this morning at woolies and it says activate in 12 months.

  • I currently have another amaysim plan thats about to expire and i have quite a bit of data in my data bank. If i get this will i still have that data to use in the data bank?

  • Wow way better than boost at my house up from 0.3mb to 45

  • Just purchased one of these. Does anyone know when it needs to be activated by?

  • Anyone that used gift card to pay, which one did you use: Wish, WW Supermarket or WW Groceries? I tried to pay using WW Supermarket but got an error: "Items not allowed"

Also, those who got an extra 10% off, did anyone get it via the Everyday Extra program?
