Astro A30 Wireless Gaming Headset for PS5/PC $209.10 + $10 Delivery (Direct Import) @ F Digital via Catch

160

I don’t know too much about these headsets, or headsets in general for that matter, but $219.10 delivered seems to be a good deal!

JB is selling the same ones for $429 (and possibly older model looking at the model number). $288 delivered on Amazon, $279 at Gamesmen (not sure if that includes delivery).

The X-Box version at Catch is strangely at $287.36 - I would just buy these and an X-Box dongle if I needed it for the X-Box.

I like the idea that you can listen to up to 3 sound sources at a time (Bluetooth, AUX, USB transmitter).

Sound quality is supposed to be great going by the reviews. Comparable to A40 and A50, I even heard it may be better. I’m reading that it can be annoying adjusting levels because you need to connect it to your phone to do that - something I can live with. I also can’t find much in the way of accessories - again, something I can live with.

  • I would just buy these and an X-Box dongle if I needed it for the X-Box

Which dongle? I don't think there is one is there?

    • Not sure where you’d get it locally but this would be it:

Logitech G Astro A30 Lightspeed Wireless USB-A Transmitter Only for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac https://a.co/d/iJE1REF

It probably makes this deal price prohibitive, unless you need both PS5 and Xbox.

  • Oh awesome. I have a freind that works at JB and their staff price is $270. This is a fantastic price. Purchased. Thanks OP

  • Hey guys, anything similar for Xbox and PC? I've been trying to find a headset/headphone for so long and i'm running out of luck…….needed one with a good mic if that's possible and wireless :)

  • Yea I recently bought a pair of these (the PC & PS version) and they're great! I do love them.

I really love the ability to stream simultaneously from different sources. At the moment I connect via dongle to PC, and connect via Bluetooth to my iPad. It can literally play both sounds at the same time, it doesn't switch like some headsets do.

Sound quality is good though the software to tweak the headset is on a mobile platform (iOS or Android, I use iOS) so I cannot adjust the headset using my computer, I have to use a mobile device that the headset is connected to. So that means in my case, it would be my iPad (I can't use my iPhone since I don't connect my headset to it using Bluetooth).
So this can be a pro or a con for some people, I'm used to tweaking my headset using PC software and so this was a bit different… don't mind too much, just need to get used to it.

I do love how it has 2 mics, so you can use the boom mic it comes with or detach that and use a built-in mic on the headset (of course quality will be different).

One down side of these I found is that the clamp is quite strong so I find it a bit uncomfortable after wearing it for a long period (gives me a mild headache). This is a bit disappointing, not because I play games for countless hours but because I was thinking of using these for when I work from home but I can't wear these all day.

    • Hi YeboMate!

Would you say you have a fairly large head? :)

I also have a big head so wondering how I would find them.

      • Hey! Naa average size I reckon. If you have a bigger than average sized head then I’d say the clamping will be uncomfortable for long term use (like all day).
