Ubank will be 4.6% 1st of April. All you need to do is transfer $200 in the account every month (you can also transfer it back straight away!)

    • I wanna hear your guys thoughts but it took Ubank a whole day to transfer just $20 from my old bank to Ubank.

      • I think the first transaction to a different bank takes time for security, the next transaction is instant. Certainly is between ANZ and Ubank

      • Yea the transfer on the first day to a new account (spend and save are different accounts) takes 1 day. After that it takes seconds.

Meh? Wikipedia has little nice to say.

  • Only bank to have blocked my debit card without informing me, and the only bank where my card was hacked. I discovered that, not the bank. Money was refunded but even then they didn't get their sums right. Their cs response to the blocking was appalling, no explanation or apology. Needless to say I closed the account and left appropriate feedback. Hopefully they've changed their cs manager and improved their account OS purchase monitoring since then.

Meanwhile, Mebank does squat (3.75???). BOQ (MB parent) offers so much more, and now Ubank @ 4.6%. I messaged MB & their response is, "move banks then". Thanks, I will.
I don't have a salary in the thousands to deposit, so these banks offering easy interest are what I'm looking at now. I'll never understand why I can't move the lot at once, though. You'd think, bank-to-bank (once your identity is confirmed) would be the go.

They need to manage their liquidity too.

  • Applies to existing easy saver accounts as well. But they are falling behind the ANZ plus base rate.

  • I think they will increase this to 4.60% (4.35% + 0.25%) soon.

    • Yes but what about the non-introductory rate?
