you should call up ray hadlee and complain to him.

You realise humans (and other mammals) make milk too? Jumping straight to a cow is a bit weird… unless you're a son of a cow?

        • +3

          That would be cow juice.

      • +2

        nut juice

      beer is mostly water too

      It enlarges boobs.

Got this half price 3 weeks ago @ $1.35 whats going on .

    • Inflation

      • That's speedy inflation. No wonder banks are bankrupted.

  • +8

The milky line is the GOAT

    • +2

      Goat milk?

    • The milky line is 8% oat in it, so low, it's basically just sunflower oil and water at that point. Pureharvest's oat milk is where it's at, 15% oat.

  • +4

    Still $3.30 on Amazon ugh

    • They didn't match Woolies 1/2 price Monster either last week that I was watching. Dunno if it is a new trend.

      • Seems to be. I might have to cancel my subscriptions which is a bummer.

  • -6

I agree this is a god deal but oat milk drinkers should be aware that this is not helpful if you have gastic / stomach acid / digestive issues or just a sensitive stomach.

This thing contains a large amount of sunflower oil from memory, that tends to increase stomach acid levels. Some dietrician yarns here https://www.thespruceeats.com/best-oat-milks-5080416

    • +1

"This thing contains a large amount of sunflower oil from memory'

that's not correct, it comes from sunflower seeds

    • +1

I can't find anything about sunflower oil and stomach acid levels on that page. The only references I could find relating to sunflower oil and stomach acid online were claiming that it was a recommended food for acid reflux.

      • Absolutely, you can make oat milk from just oats and water. Maybe with a tiny pinch of salt too.

However, AFAICT, there's only one brand available on the shelves in colesworth that doesn't have added oil, and that's the macro stuff. Nearly all of them have sunflower oil on the ingredients list, including this one.

        • This one has calcium. It's a good way to protect kids that can't tolerate normal milk from osteoporosis when they get older.

          • @CacheHunter: Fortified orange juice, soy milk , sardines are my main calcium sources

        • Thought sunflower oil was ok if not heated? Maybe it is in milk?

          • @corky: I think it’s “ok” if you like it, there’s nothing wrong with sunflower oil in itself, but I don’t need oil in my oat milk!

Waiting for Amazon to price match

    • Me too. I had an Amazon S&S at $1.60/ea and recently cancelled it when it went upto $3.30

      • Felt bad seeing that last $3.30 S&S too late to cancel…

      • wait, so S&S does not mean you lock the price at the time you sign up? I thought you did. Hence been S&S'ing everything worthy at half price

        • +1

no, I always cancel right after receiving my order.

        • +1

Nope it can go up to any price and it will charge you whatever it is that day when it is renewal time in 1/2/3/etc. months. I cancel after I get my stuff every time, sometimes the price jumps are crazy.

Vitasoy Oat Milk, 3 in one

  • +1

What's odd is that the unsweetened oat milk is higher in calories than the oat milky (which is "low in sugar")…

    • what causes that? are they compensating with another ingredient somehow?

      • +1

More oats, oats are 70% carbs.

  • +1

My son goes through these so quickly…Time to stock up! Surprised Amazon hasn't price matched yet.

  • I might have to look at the typical expiry on these and stock up. I go through maybe 1L/day with 5 people in the house.

    • long expiry for UHT - my other Oat milk has an expiry of december 2023

  • +2

this + aldi frozen mango blended together is heavenly

  • i need barista milk, put it on sale right now.

    • +2

This actually froths well and holds quite silky and smooth. Using a Breville BES870

      • i haven't tried this brand, but other brand doesn't froth well so i started using barista milk only now a days.

        • Perfect time for you to try ☺️

        • I've tried baristas and preferred this - be interested to get your take

        • Give it a go. This is one of the better ones for frothing in my experience too.

      • Agreed we use it and its just fine.

      • Yeah, agreed that this actually froths as well if not better than some of the barista versions.

  • Our local was out of stock. Bummer.

    • And no more rain checks. :-(

  • I mightve missed it, but is there an easy way to check stock at a local Coles store?

    • +1

they get re-stocks during the week . so you have today and tomorrow to check.

My local was OOS on wednesday night but had plenty of stock yesterday so I grabbed a box (12 pack).

a bizarre reason to downvote - and you won't be better off because cow milk is for calves not humans

    • Nothing unhealthy with oat milk

    • +1

Sure, I'll be much better off crapping my brains out after having organic cow milk

    • +1

I prefer breast milk and 1 sugar in my coffee anyway.

Ingredients: Filtered water, whole oats (min.10%), sunflower oil, oat flour, gum arabic, minerals (calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate), acidity regulator (potassium phosphate), natural flavour, sea salt.

Here are the ingredients including lashungs of sunflower oil.

Last comment about the ingredients unpublished… Why?……

    • +1

everyone knows the ingredients why are you posting them like it's some expose

      • Beacause the description in the post only mentions filtered water and oats…
        .

    • It has only 2.1g of total fat per 100ml so it clearly doesn't have "lashings" of sunflower oil.

    • whats wrong with sunflower oil?
