Advice Regarding Charging Laptop via Powerbank

Hi, I have a Asus vivobook that doesnt charge via USB-C, but I will be getting some sort of a adaptor that converts the normal DC input to take USB-C.

Would you know if that would work?

However, what I need to know is what options do I have for a laptop powerbank. This is one below. Do you have any experience with this one?

I'm just worried that powerbanks in general may cause issues while charging and may burn the laptop etc so wanted to get your feedback.

Also, I'm not very good at this, so wanted to know which cable shall I use to charge:

Is it the: USB-C to USB-C, or the USB-A to USB-C? What would be the difference?

Hoping for some guidance.

  • I have another device, use it occasionally, It does have USB C but no charging from that, Charges via a barrel connector.

A while ago made a similar post, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/734098.

It works fine with the laptop charging.

And NO YOU JUST CANNOT CHARGE your LAPTOP with any USB A to USB C cable. laptops generally require at least 45W power for charging IMO. USB A is not really gonna be getting you that much power, So you need some sort of adaptor like in that image.

Also had a kogan power bank, It just died like a few months ago for some reason I dont know, it was their older recalled version anyway, so just dumbed that. Guessing the newer one is good though.

Yep, you'll need USB-C to USB-C cable as long as the laptop supports USB-C PD charging.

Maybe you should answer that question BEFORE buying a powerbank.
