der8auer Ryzen AM4 OC Bracket AIO Mount $5 + Delivery ($0 MEL C&C) @ PC Case Gear

90

Not for everybody.. I lost my am4 bracket and needed another for an aio cooler I purchased. These are usually $49.. So quite cheap if you need a replacement.. Not sure why they would be considered better but some say they increase cooling?

  • Good find. The custom mount is also available: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/51542/der8auer-ryzen-am4…

What is this? Hmm.. it's cheap so I better get two.

  • This seems pretty neat. They'd suit my setup (custom water cooled AM4), and I'm keen to have a bit of Der8auer engineering to covet, but I just don't OC enough to make this worth the hassle of using properly.

  • They've been on clearance for 6+ months now at pccg. People use them instead of the old plastic-kind of retension brackets that come stock on a mobo. The clips are a lot more heavy duty and don't snap if you're heavy-handed when screwing on AIO and stuff. People who have used them report in forums that they couldn't live without them now. Unsure if there is a AM5 or LGA1700 versions of them though.

  • I bought 7 sets of mix AIO+Custom mount kits a few months ago. Used both kinds of brackets on multiple builds. It also works on AM5 platform. AIO set is easier to deal with. Custom mount needs a lot more clearance space around the cpu slot. I ends up removing the first M.2 heatsink to be able to mount the offset position for 7950X, and this kit uses the OEM CPU backplate, truely AM5 compatible, unlike most old CPU blocks' native mount need replacing the backplate.

  • I bought one of these several months ago for this price, think they've been on clearance for a while.

It's still in the box and I have a 5800x3d, some report having better temps because you can offset your cooler directly over the CCD but not sure thats worth it with the 5800x3D because of the cache ontop of the die, you'd imagine the entire thing needs contact to cool well.

I'll put it in eventually, the pins definitely seem easier to hook the AM4 top and bottom tensioner over at the very least.
