Nope, better to be protected than sorry!
May it be 1 or 100, always keep it wrapped up.I must be some kind of Internet cowboy.
If you're using a shared connection without some sort of secure tunnel, yep.
One of cheaper models probably would suffice for a handful of devices.
Depends on how much speed they need though.
Was thinking Slate Plus
Beryl AX for $135
I would get this for another 20 bucks and be future proof.
Future proof in what way? Functionally there isn't a huge number of differences between this and the Beryl AX.
Can it connect to a Wifi network?
Yes.
Upvoted,
But I love that this and the Aliexpress i225 opnsense boxes both go on sale right after my router dies and I decide to splurge on a Ubiquity Dream router.I use this for just me. It is so good coming from mango .
I use it with a 3a rated USB charger and it works fine . Not heavy use. But you can use it without carrying around the official psu which makes it more portable
Signal is great and lightning fastHave you run it on power bank?
Most power banks won't do over 2.4A at 5V.
It depends which official measurement is correct….If 4A?
Getting it stable on 3A; since it's "just me"(him) he's probably only using 1 radio.Power Input Type-C, 5V/4A
Power Consumption <8.75WThough, it depends which is accurate.
8.75W is less than 2A @ 5v.
So if THAT'S correct, then yeah, a powerbank would run it.I might try running it on Baseus 100W power bank then which supports upto 20v/5A
How it’ll connect to a hotel or airport wifi because they mostly require a webpage to open and fill the credentials
Usually after you login to the captive portal with one device connected to the travel router, it will work for all devices connected to the travel router.
If not, you follow these steps:

Am I missing something? For the price this seems good for a traditional router, let alone a portable one?
depends on what your traditional router needs are.
Is this overkill to use as a Wireguard travel router for connecting 4-5 devices via 4G/5G modem?
