I have forgotten to include our middle names on my airline tickets (which are on our passports) — have you heard of people getting refused entry to a flight because of this? This is for a flight on Fiji Airways from Vancouver to Sydney in August this year.
I enquired with Fiji Airways, and I got this response "Please be advised that a middle name would be required for your travel, and a name correction fee of AUD 130 applies per ticket." However, I'm wondering if that is actually true, or just some sort of automatic answer the help desk gives out, but not what actually happens at the ticket check in the airport.
The name on the ticket should match the name on the passport. If people at the checking counter say, no deal, that's the end of the line for you.
Edit: For some airlines, middle names are optional. https://www.pointhacks.com.au/missing-middle-name/
