Next gen iPhone will most likely to have a type c port though :/

    • Yep, at least in Europe.

It'll be nice having a draw full of only usb-c cables

      • Surely the production costs would be ridiculous to create two different iPhone models…but again this is Apple lol

        • +2

They did make two different iPhone models with the 14 series - one without a SIM slot for US, and one without for everywhere else - I wouldn't put it past them ..

          • @dm02: This is true

          • @dm02: More than that.
I believe Chinese iPhones have dual sim as standard since many years ago.

          • @dm02: Apparently there's a market to refurb US iPhones by laser cutting a SIM slot and soldering in a SIM tray.

Only possible in low labour cost markets, otherwise all that work would cost more than a brand new iPhone.

        • +1

They are already making USB-C iPads, so make sense to change on iPhones. Otherwise it will continue to inconvenient users already in the Apple ecosystem.

MacBooks, iPad Pro, newer iPad/Mini/Air, are all USB-C.

iPhones and Airpods are the last on the roadmap.

    • Thank god!
