Get two, use them like inline skates. Problem solved.

I hope I don't get in the penalty box for this, but might you consider walking instead to lose some of your weight? Assuming you aren't like rugby player muscular going on.

6"8' and 130kg is still obese according to BMI, the person this is for might consider consulting medical advice to see whether their health could be improved by an adjustment of diet and/or exercise.

you have not contributed to the actual request. This is not a health forum.

Bmi isnt a very accurate measurement, body builders can have the exact same weight and height and bmi does not take into account % body fat.

@garetz: If the person this is for is a bodybuilder or a rugby player or a sumo wrestler wanting to scoot to their office job then they needn't worry I guess.

    • Good on you for saying it. I'm sure others wondered, i did at least. We are a country that continues to have an increasing amount of people who are overweight or obese and the lifetime disease burden is higher for this category than anything else. We need to get more comfortable with saying things (in a polite way), just like people say about smoking because it impacts all of us.

      • Yeah, I'm not a fan of all the safe spaces. Especially when it's something that the person has control over.

      • saying things (in a polite way)

This is OzBargain forums… how many times have you seen a newbie ridiculed or attacked when asking a question?

        • All the time. I think it's a really crappy side of what's supposed to be a positive communal space.
But as i said, in a polite way is key to saying something on a more sensitive topic. Well if you want to have a conversation or assist then it is.

  • a quick search on google reveals majority of scooters seem to have a max weight capacity of 100kg in most cases to 120 in a few models. So maybe an e scooter isn't the best choice in the current situation.

When you see how many people ride tandem on rental scooters, I think your weight will be OK on the mid-range Segway & Xiaomi models. But you'll need to test the brakes - I did 550km on my Xiaomi M365 Pro and felt the only weakness was braking performance. BTW, Segway Ninebot F65 is rated to 120kg

At least someone on this site knows how to answer a question , the rest seem to be suffering from dyslexia!

        agreed many thanks @rock-bottom

Trolls generally suffer loneliness so I hope this thread encourages them to get outside on a scooter, local laws permitting

If distance is short (as stated by OP), why not get a normal bike?

  • +3

    I'm 6'2" and 90kg. 8 Inches wouldn't add 25 to 30kg

    • +5

      That's what she said?

    • 6" would add 13kg. OP, sorry OP's friend, is around 27kg overweight. But it's not just a river in Egypt. No shame, but they need medical advice, not to avoid walking.

  • I reckon OP delete the Maccas app during Nov .

  • What state are you in? It's illegal to ride them on roads & footpaths in NSW.

      State of obesity

      • That, fine Sir, was pure gold.

    • QLD this person is in.

  • QLD has great scooter laws, you can pick up to 60kg so the world is your oyster, but from your use case limited by budget. How much is the budget, I'm happy to make a recommendation.

  • IV done about 5000kms on Segway max scooter.
I'm your weight plus I take an additional kid and groceries all the time

  • What's the budget? This one looks like it can do your required carrying capacity.
