Was $747.15 last night from the Samsung education store. It came back in stock briefly this morning but just sold out again a few minutes ago- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/762953

      Time machine needed.

In fairness, if it's coming in and out of stock, it may be worth keeping an eye on it in case they get more in, therefore a heads up is nice.

Do you still have the link for 1960 7.5c per bottle price of Coca-Cola or is that coming soon?

      • Pretty unfair comparison.

It was a joke in case it went over your head.

  • $829 from Samsung with $50 newsletter code.

    • I saw the price on the Samsung store, but when I tried doing checkout to see if there was a delivery cost, my cart kept emptying. I think as per videoman's comment, seems sold out at Samsung, but website isn't very clear.

Why do a lot of tvs have dinky little low stability feet like this one? My LG has them and I had to buy straps to stop it falling over in the event of a very mild earth tremor, which we had a few years ago.

    • +2

Yeah, have to agree. Anyone with young children really need to tie the tv at the back to prevent it from falling if it gets knocked. Luckily, the Panasonic TV I bought came with a large solid base in the middle. The added benefit of the centre base is you don't need to have a long TV stand to put the TV on.

      • Yeah centre base is much better, sturdy and don't need wide bench. I hate the ones with 4 legs near edge. They say fits soundbar but that's not a good design

    • very low cost and most people mount them anyway. Maybe actually renters can't. I hadn't considered that.

    • I also had to catch my brand new LG OLED lol.

    • Hoping you mount it on the wall?

How long is the warranty for?
Here says 12 months only: https://www.samsung.com/au/support/warranty/

So would be better off with a TCL 3 year warranty.

    • Warranty coverage in Australia isn't as simple as the length of the manufacturer warranty and that's it, the length of a manufacturer warranty does not impact the rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

E.g. I bought a $4000 16" MBP from Apple back in 2019 which only comes with a 12 month Apple Limited Warranty (no AppleCare in this case). In 2022, the battery was showing issues then motherboard failed and it wouldn't boot on, Apple repaired it twice under ACL at no cost to me until it functioned like new.

Some retailers like JB publish a minimum voluntary warranty document (e.g. minimum 2 years for a product purchased for more than $500), not sure if Betta has a similar publically available document or its something you will just have to test.

By all means, if having a 3 year vs 1 year manufacturer warranty provides peace of mind to you, go for TCL but generally its not an issue for consumers with big name brands.

  • Best add the $150 GC as this becomes a ripper of a price!

  • Thanks OP. Just what I needed

  • I was looking at this. Can you use multiple gift cards?

  • F… just bought the 50" from JB for $800.

  • Daayum… steller value…

  • Well this seems really cheap. $876 PLUS a $150 gift card and free delivery…..for a 65 inch samsung.

What am I missing here, I thought they were a couple of grand ?

    • Base UHD model, but still amazing value.

  • I just purchased this TV and I’m not impressed to say the least.

On normal TV stations (non-HD), it’s so blurry and pixelated. On HD TV stations, it’s better but the motion seems to be so fake and artificial. It gives the impression the picture is going to pause somewhat.. it’s like the processing engine within the TV is trying to upscale or do something to the image to give it a better look, but it’s just terrible.

I’d love to return this TV, but I don’t think Betta allows you to unless it’s unopened.

I’ve tried turning off all the fancy picture settings and it doesn’t really do much, just looks worse.

Any ideas what I can do from here? I don’t really want to keep this. Should of went a Sony I guess..
