NFC Pay Ring

With the discontinuation of Bankwest Halo Ring, what are some other options that work in Australia?

Do they need to have a separate preloaded card? Cost?

Looking to be able to go for a run, beach and leave the phone at home while still helping the economy. Haven't invested in a smart watch due to battery constraints.

    Garmin watch with garmin pay.
Example: Garmin fenix has up to 2 weeks battery.

Halo didn't have a battery, so lasted as long as the linked card. 2 weeks is good… will hopefully be a month by next year!

You know you can charge the watch battery relatively easily right?

If money is no object and you have large wrists, the Garmin Fenix 7X can go up to 28 days, or 37 days with the solar model if you spend some time in bright sunlight every day.

The more normal-sized Fenix 7 can go 18 days, 22 with the solar model.

You can also track your run and get some health data.

3 if you change pulse-ox monitoring to manual, that's what I get with my Fenix 6x

You can't run or go to the beach with a credit/debit card?

What if it’s a nudist beach? Bit wide to hide in the ol’ prison wallet

        • Why are we taking photos of randoms at the checkout? That's well creepy.

I am worried how Jimmo stores his house keys on a nudist beach run…

Fitbit Versa 3 has a battery life of 6 days

    • I'd agree with a Fitbit.

I think the Fitbit Charge 5 would seem to be the cheapest. I think I had a Fitbit Charge 3 a few years ago and it did the job.

  • Actually the RBA wants us to help the economy by not spending.

  • I, too, am in the same boat as the OP. Love my Haloting and will feel a little lost without it. The astonishment from people when I use it never gets old.
I read domewhere a few months back that Samsung might be working on an NFC ring with fitness functions but still years away, I think. Heres hoping other companies join the club and coming soon.
