Hey Oz Bargain Community,

If you're flat chat, feel free to skip to the bold writing below :)

Hold onto your hats because we've just launched 3 vibrant featured Single Origin coffees from one of my all-time favourite growing regions of the world…it's a Kenya party and this is your invite. We've previously had Kenya SOs available in our AeroPress bundles and as Surprise Mystery Stops for our FBC, but for one reason or another we haven't been able to offer (been trying for years) a Kenya SO as our featured rotating SO until today. We've got the trifecta lined up for you, a Kenya SO, Peaberry and Carbonic Maceration (we were absolutely blown away at how popular our last CM processed coffee was, it sold out at lightning speed). To say we're excited about this launch is a massive understatement!

We're offering you a 40% discount off Kenya Nyeri Single Origin + Peaberry and 25% off Kenya Carbonic Maceration Single Origin + Hario Smart G Handy Electric Grinder, see details below:

1) Kenya Nyeri Washed Single Origin, only $16.30 per 500g (usually $27.17 per 500g), and $29 per 1kg (usually $48.34 per 1kg)

2) NOW SOLD OUT Kenya Nyeri Peaberry Washed Single Origin, only $16.30 per 500g (usually $27.17 per 500g), and $29 per 1kg (usually $48.34 per 1kg)

3) Kenya Nyeri Carbonic Maceration Natural Jasper Single Origin, only $13.50 per 200g (usually $18 per 200g), and $27 per 400g (usually $36 per 400g)

4) As our Kenya Carbonic Maceration Single Origin is exclusively available in whole bean form we're offering 25% off the Hario Smart G Handy Electric Grinder, only $149.25 (usually $199) to help anyway interested transition from pre-ground to ground-on-demand or some anyone looking for a second grinder for alternate coffees e.g. Kenya CM SO

Deal valid for orders placed until 21/03/2023, unless sold out before. You can pick from the available green circle dispatch dates on the cart page. Dispatch can happen for you as near as tomorrow (Friday) and as far as the last Thursday in April. Once a given dispatch date is at full capacity the green circle will be removed and date will turn red, first in best dressed :)

Some helpful info:

  • You're welcome to place multiple orders scheduled for dispatch at various dates (delayed dispatch) to make the most of this deal, we strive to dispatch our fresh coffee within 48 business hours of roasting
  • One dispatch per order
  • If you select 500g as a quantity please ensure you also select 500g as the packaging option. If 500g is selected as a quantity with 1kg as the packaging selection the product will show as "unavailable"
  • 500g bag packing (it's resealable) is also available for orders larger than 500g this is an extra $3.60 per kg including the discount (normally $6 extra per kg) to cover the extra bag/s, label/s and time it takes to pack
  • Complimentary gift notes can be written in the designated space on the cart page."
  • The largest bag size we use is 1kg and it has a zip (it's resealable), for example if you order 4kg with 1kg packaging you will receive 4 x 1kg bags, you will not receive a single huge 4kg bag.
  • VIC|NSW|ACT|QLD|TAS|NT Flat Rate Shipping $6.99 No Delivery Company Preference, $7.99 Shipit-Courier's Please, $8.99 Australia Post, $12.99 Express Post, Live Quote Shipping at the checkout for Same Day Delivery as Dispatch in VIC in the highlighted map areas https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/361387/95314/same_day_…
  • SA|WA Flat Rate Shipping $9.99 Express Post. Regular parcels travel to SA & WA via train. The recent floods have damaged the rail line to SA & WA and a freight train has derailed, as such we've been informed by Australia Post that standard delivery to SA & WA is currently not an option for the foreseeable future. Express Post travels by plane, so it's still a viable option. We understand some of our SA & WA customers would prefer our "$6.99 No Delivery Company Preference" standard shipping option. Our Express Post option is usually $12.99. As Express shipping has been forced on us and you as the only viable option to SA & WA for the moment, to make the best of this situation we've decided to split the price difference and offer our SA & WA customers flat-rate Express shipping for only $9.99

  • coming from the Sao Paolo, which one should i try?

    • Great question!

Although still notably different, the closest option on this deal to that one is our Kenya Nyeri Washed Single Origin, so I think that may be your best bet.

The CM is the polar opposite of our Brazil SP and Peaberry is in the middle of the Kenya SO and CM. General flavour to the side for a moment, the biggest differences you'll notice between our Kenya and Brazil SO, is Kenya has a lot more brightness/acidity followed by more sweetness as well :)

      • Thank you. trying Peaberry let’s see how it goes

        • Terrific choice (not that I think there's any wrong choices), thank you so much for your order and I hope you love this special Kenya Peaberry!!!

      • Just wanted to say thank you for posting this deal.

I have just finished my second coffee with the Kenya SO and it is SO good!
One of the best coffees I have ever had. Appreciate that you can bring us these special beans at a more affordable price :)

        • +1

Morning @IamEzza WOW, that's absolutely wonderful feedback to receive, big smile on this side of the screen, thank you so much for your order and sharing your outstanding feedback, it truly means so much!!!

I'm so glad we're in your god books, we'll keep working hard to stay there and continue the search for coffee gems like these Kenyans to share with the Oz B and Lime Blue community :)

  • Best option for black drinkers?

    • +1

      Nice check in!

All our Kenya options are wonderful as black coffees. To decide between the 3 comes down to general flavour, sweetness and acidity/brightness, which is based on your personal preference.

Here's a bit of a comparison to nail down your pick/s:

      1) CM = By far has the most pronounced fruity flavour notes and sweetness, with good levels of acidity. If you're open to trying something different our of left field, then this is the go for you.
      2) SO = More chocolate flavour notes than the CM, a bit less acidity/brightness and sweetness than the peaberry, but still delicious with high levels of both generally speaking. High quality, yet familiar flavour profile this is the go for you.
      3) Peaberry = a bit more acidity and sweetness than the SO, similar overall flavour. If you enjoy high levels of acidity/brightness and sweetness, yet familiar flavour profile, then this is the go for you as it has slightly more kick than the SO

Let me know if you have any other questions :)

  • Hey guys, just wondering whether the CM is still a good pick for espresso despite being a lighter roast? I generally prefer the more vibrant / fruity flavour profiles so this one jumped out at me, but the Other two Kenyan offerings also seem like great value!

    • Hey @NedStark102 appreciate you reaching out to double check!

You're correct that is it a lighter roast, but it still works really well for espresso extraction (as well as filter). Just as it's a lighter roast it's not ideal for milk based coffees. Whereas the SO and Peaberry both suit milk based and black coffee really well. I agree that they're all great value (of course an unbiased comment by me haha), thank you for the complement. I believe all 3 options suit your "vibrant/fruity flavour" preference. However, if you had to pick only 1 option I'd say the CM would suit you best, as the other two have more chocolate flavour notes :)

      • Thanks for the response - decided to go for the Peaberry, hard to go past 500g at that price. Looking forward to trying it, cheers!
        - Jeremy

        • Fantastic, thank you so much for your order with us Jeremy, it's truly appreciated!

Very glad to hear you're happy with the value for price and that you're looking forward to the good stuff :)

  • +1

That's 40% off the coffee not the country.

    • +2

Indeed @PukeyLuke this deal is just for coffee grown in Kenya, not the Country itself :)

  • What about Ethiopian beans?

    • Hey @TEER3X appreciate the double check!

The Ethiopia CM we had available on our previous launch deal sold out at super speed, but the good news is it's popularity led us to launch the CM in this deal. If you liked the sound of our previously available Ethiopia CM, then you should hopefully love this Kenya CM :)

  • +2

Just made my first coffee bean order from Lime Blue Coffee! Based on how much effort and care is being spent on answering people's questions, I have strong confidence in the quality of the product. Can't wait!

    • How wonderful to hear @Penguin8213 we do our best, but always strive to do better. Wrapped to know we're in your books books for our service, fingers crossed you're impressed with the quality of our coffee too!

Thank you so much for placing your first order with us and your vote of confidence, it's truly appreciated and an opportunity we won't take for granted :)

  • +3

I am a simple man. I see a Lime Blue deal. I order 4kg coffee. Thanks for the tip in the past on storing the bags in my freezer.

    • haha love it, sometimes simple is best!

Thank you sincerely for placing another terrific order with us, it really does mean so much and I'm glad you found the tip helpful :)

  • Any potential future deals coming up for the São Paulo?

    • Hey @N1K appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

We tend to focus on one deal at a time, so I honestly say at present I don't know when or what any future deals will look like. That said we don't have any plans at present to discontinue our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin and it's currently available on our site :)

  • What about the TimTam?

    • Hey @cashless you're in luck, our Tim Tam Initiative still applied to all coffees ordered via this launch deal https://limebluecoffee.com/pages/tim-tam-initiative%E2%84%A2 :)

      • Ordered 1kg SO, delayed delivery (love being able to do that) plus Tim Tam

        • Fantastic, thank you so much, your order really does mean a lot!

Great to know our unique delayed/scheduled dispatch plus the bonus Tim Tam are winners for you :)

  • Hey Tom,

Great timing, I've just run out of beans. The website is a little hard to read. The product names are a little too similar. Just a note for you.

What would you suggest for someone that drinks black coffee themselves, but has to make a milk-based one for the others in the house? She drinks a double shot, flat white. So she wants something that cuts thru and actually tastes like coffee, but I like coffee that is a little more interesting.

Also can you please remind me, if your 1kg bags are resealable?

    Thanks for the help.

    • +1

      Morning @KenjiAU love perfect timing!

Really appreciate you taking the time to provide this helpful feedback. Ironically when I was creating the product listings they initially had more distinctively different titles. Then I thought similar may be better for people to focus on comparing how different bean structure and processing methods can impact flavour of the same varietals of coffee grown in the same region of the world, as opposed to selecting based on the names.

I'm not perfect, so who knows whether I've taken the best title route or whether I should have stuck with the original title I wrote with more differentiated titles, never know until you try…time will tell.

Nice detailed info, thanks. Hmm if I had to pick a single coffee to suit your whole household I'd say go with Kenya Nyeri Washed Single Origin. If you're both a fan of sweetness and acidity/brightness then the Peaberry will have a slightly higher kick to it than the SO.

Sure thing, I can confirm our bags are resealable across all sizes :)

  • From a quick Google a peaberry coffee is one that only has a single bean per pod or something? What is the difference if the actual plant is the same?

And the peaberry in this deal is a single origin as well (but this isn't always the case?)

    • +1

      Hey @kulprit nice questions!

Correct, a Peaberry is formed when a coffee cherry has a single seed (bean inside) instead of two halves. The plant is the same and only a small portion of each crop is Peaberry e.g. 10%

Generally speaking, all things being equal a Peaberry coffee will have higher levels of sweetness than a standard coffee bean. The Peaberry in this deal is a Single Origin from the same crop as the other Single Origin, both processed in the same way (Washed) The CM is different, it's Carbonic Maceration natural Processed :)

I don’t drink coffee but + for rep answering every q

    • +1

Woohoo, thank you so much, very thoughtful of you!

Fingers crossed you'll jump into the coffee world one day :)

  • As someone who prefers south American darker/choc roasts for milk based.
Which one of these would be closest?
Will do a few filter/press drinks now and then too.

Ps. The colombia Huila was incredible.

Edit: I guess Kenya Nyeri Peaberry would be the best option

    • Hey @fusion17 nice double check!

Appreciate the info and it's terrific to know you found our Colombia SO to be "incredible!"

Decent guess. I believe you'll really enjoy the Peaberry, but the Kenya Nyeri Washed Single Origin may suit you even better :)

      • I yes I got confused with the posts and names as they're all similar.

I meant the SO: "More chocolate flavour notes than the CM, a bit less acidity/brightness and sweetness than the peaberry, but still delicious with high levels of both generally speaking."

        • Sure thing, no stress, same page now, that's the main thing :)

  • Hi Tom, I placed an order for Colombia Huila in your last few deal and have set it to be dispatched next Tuesday. I just ran out of beans and was wondering if I could move it forward to dispatching today or tomorrow if you're sending any Colombia off then? Many thanks if you could! My order is: #27919

    • Hey @maybeamacy appreciate the follow up, got your email yesterday and have just replied :)

  • The best coffee to get during the gaps in your Line Blue subscription is Lime Blue

    • Sounds like an excellent plan!

  • I am happy with Brazilian, this time bought Kenya to try.. Cheers OP

    • Fantastic, very glad to hear you're happy with our Brazil SO!

Sometimes it's nice to mix it up a bit, fingers crossed you love our Kenya SO just as much or even more. Thank you so much for placing another order with us :) :) :)

  • Gday mate, new customer here. What are your recommend beans for milk coffee?

    • Hey @Kunkka great to hear from you, appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

Within this deal I'd say go for the Kenya Nyeri Washed Single Origin. The Peaberry is terrific as a milk based coffee too, it just has a bit more kick (acidity/brightness) and sweetness than the SO. In terms of my recommendation within our entire currently available range, I'd say either our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin or Moments to Memories blend :)

  • Recommend bean for Oat Milk?

    • +2

Nice double check, better safe than sorry, as you don't want to split your milk!

My recommendation is dependent on which Oat Milk you use. Does the brand you use have an acidity regulator listed in the ingredients? If it does it'll say "acidity regulator" or may say the technical term of the most common one "dipotassium phosphate."

If your Oat Milk has a regulator, then any of our current options should be delicious for milk based coffee, only exception being our Kenya CM as that's best suited to black coffees. If the Oat Milk you use doesn't have an acidity regulator and you're not keen on changing then either our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin, Moments to Memories blend or SWP Decaf will suit you best :)

  • Hi Tom,

Woke up to a delicious cup of Colombia Huila SO this morning :) Almost out of beans now :(

Would you recommend the Peaberry for someone like me that likes to drink filter?

    Cheers

    • +1

Similar question, I like the Colombia SO as espresso, more so than the sao Paolo. Which of these should I try next?

      • +1

Hey @mith appreciate you reaching out, from your comments it looks like you've commented on the right deal for you!

Sounds like you enjoy coffee with a nice acidity kick, and notes combining fruity and chocolate. Similar to my response for @dajackal if you're keen on the closest option to our Colombia SO then go for our Kenya SO. If you're happy to put the acidity kick in the next gear go the Peaberry. If you want to life on the edge and try something wildly different and fruity forward the go the CM :)

    • +1

Hey @dajackal sounds like you had a fantastic start to your day, thank you for the compliment!!!

Shucks, we can't have you running out of the good stuff, glad you reached out :)

All our Kenyans are delicious for filter and as you enjoy our Colombian SO so much, I believe you'll love these Single Origins. If you're keen on something similar to the Colombia then go the Kenya SO. If you're keen on something similar to the Colombia, but are happy with increasing the acidity/brightness then the Peaberry is also a great option. If you just want a delicious filter and are happy to take a walk on the wild side, the go for the CM.

      • Thanks for taking the time to reply. Gutted that the Peaberry is OOS now that I'm about to place an order. Any chance they will come back in stock during this sale?

        • Hey @dajackal sure thing :)

Shucks, that's a shame you missed out. The Peaberry flew out the door at lightning speed, selling out the same day we launched it. There won't be any more stock available of the Kenya Peaberry at present. It's been exciting to see that the 3 different Kenya SO have all been selling really well. Good news is there's still some availability for you to order the other delicious Kenyan coffee we have!

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: No worries. Ordered both remaining types to try out :)

            • @dajackal: Terrific to hear, thank you so much for that combo order, hope you love them both!

  • I'm looking at the Kenya Nyeri Single Origin for espresso based milk drinks (flat white's mostly). Would you be able to give me a good recipe and ratio to start my dial in process at?

    • Hey @Intoxicoligist sure thing, sounds like a plan!

Let me know what equipment you're using and I'll customise the ratio to suit your machine?

As a side note we put our recommended brew guides for each coffee on every bag :)

  • Just ordered a 500g of the peaberry and 500g of the SO - trying for the first time. I pulled the trigger because of your engagement, it's clear you know your product :)

    • +1

Woohoo that's absolute music to my ears, thank you so much for placing your first order (nice combo) with us @cantoangel, it's truly appreciated and an opportunity we won't take for granted!

We do our best to know as much as we can about our coffee. We continually strive to learn a bit more with each roast, as we think there'll always be more to learn and that our coffee can keep getting better if we keep learning. I'm wrapped to know we're in your good books, we'll keep working hard to stay there :)

  • I had significant difficulty extracting a perfect shot with the Ethiopian SO, am I likely to experience the same sort of problems with this bean? They're both grown from higher altitudes which I'm told can be more temperamental.

    • +2

Hey @fLaMePrO glad you check and appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

I'll do my best to answer your question, but it won't be a clear cut yes or no without more information about your extraction method.

With regard to higher altitude coffees being more temperamental, I wouldn't say this is directly correlated (high altitude doesn't always mean the coffee is any trickier than lower altitude). However, there may be an indirect correlation, just purely because it's more likely higher altitude coffees may be a lighter roasted. If a coffee is roasted super light (lighter than we'd do) it can be a bit trickier to extract compared to other coffees.

As long as the coffee is processed well and roasted evenly, extraction should be fine. That said if your previous coffee was a darker roast than the lighter, you'll need to adjust you grinder initially to find the sweet spot. Extraction comes down to a number of factors, but the primary one is density and consistency of this density throughout the bean structure. With the Ethiopia CM the fact it was a Natural process generally indicates a finer grind setting than a like for like Washed process, but as it was a lighter roast that would indicate a coarser grind than a like for like darker roast.

From the testing we've done and amount of positive feedback we've received I believe we may just need to tweak your equipment settings a bit to get a nice flow happening. When you get a sec could you please send a reply email to your order confirmation detailing method you've been using to extract the Ethiopia CM and difficulty you've experienced? Hopefully it'll only take a few small extraction tweaks to get you on the fast track to a terrific extraction :)

      • Thanks mate. I'm not a stranger to dialling in a shot, but yeah I just had a lot of trouble with Ethiopian beans in the past. Couldn't find the middle ground. Not using anything fancy, just a breville grinder with a Breville Infuser machine.

Will email you if I need any help! Cheers

        • How do you 'dial in' with a breville grinder. Thats the problem right there. The Infuser is fine, the grinder is not.

I was there too, now no issues with the specialita.

          • @fusion17: What? It has plenty of grind settings, not sure what you mean.

            • @fLaMePrO: I can't get into the whole grinder thing here, but if you do a little research you'll see it actually doesn't.
It sits in the low end of grinders.

  • Brazil SO sale next please!

    • Appreciate the input!

It has been a little while since we've done a deal on our Brazil SO, perhaps it's time for one some time soon :)

  • The checkout option is greyed out. I can't click on it after adding a bag of beans. I tried two different beans but still had the same issue.

    • Hey @wazza appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

Just check and all appears to be working fine this end. Which likely means either it's your browser or you're just super speed at clicking, either reason is hopefully an easy fix :)

      Two quick questions:

      1) Can you see a calendar on the cart page?
      2) Do you have a pop up/ad blocker enabled?

      • I have four ad blockers on. After disabling them, the calendar appeared, and then I could check out. Thank you.

        • +1

Terrific, mystery solved, appreciate the solution assist. Thank you so much for persisting and placing your first order with us, it's really does mean a lot!

Most ad blockers don't prevent the calendar showing up/checking out, but the super dooper ones do and it sounds like you've got your browser locked up safer than Fort Knox :)

  • Unsure if anyone having checkout issues… mine tried to pay and is spinning endlessly.. been over a minute..

    • Hey @freestyle18 appreciate the check in!

We did have one customer report a similar issue earlier today. All systems appear to be working on our side. The customer tried a different browser and the checkout worked perfectly, so I think there may be an issue with certain browsers. Likely a recent browser update is the cause and Shopify is still playing catch up. I've checked Android Chrome and Windows Chrome, both checkout are working. Please send an email to [email protected] if a page refresh or new browser checkout don't resolve the issue :)

      • Emailed you as a payment went through but unsure if order did..

        • Appreciate the follow up!

          Received and replied :)

  • +1

Tom, the care, quality and consideration you show in all your responses here and over emails - you deserve million bucks…
You have consistently looked after us in Covid and even now, when the prices are through the roof. So thank you and please accept my standing ovation (although I'm sitting on my couch)….
I just bought some coffee from previous deal, and have ordered more

    • +1

Morning @jigi04 WOW, what a wonderfully worded compliment, your message truly does mean so much to me (and the team, I can't take all the credit as Lime Blue's a team effort) and isn't taken lightly!!!

As is clear from your comment, we believe we give as good as we get. We think our customers are fantastic and were a vital support during Covid (and still are today), without you we cease to exist. Also incredibly important to us is the Oz Bargain Community in general, I'm sure this terrific forum got many small businesses through the Covid tunnel.

We do our utmost to always put our best foot forward and customers trust us to keep doing the best we can. We know trust is hard to earn and easy to lose, so we'll continue striving to make our best even better.

Thank you so much for placing another order with us, your continued orders are sincerely appreciated and won't be taken for granted. Very big smile on this side of the screen knowing we're in your good books, we'll keep working hard to stay there. Once again, thank you immensely for you continued support and outstanding vote of confidence :)

p.s. a million bucks sounds good haha

  • Any pick up option for VIC, OP?

    • Hey @Craze appreciate the check in!

At present for a number of reasons we don't have a pick up option. Mostly because fresh coffee is not ideally suited to a click and collect model because peoples schedules understandably change and this could mean fresh coffee is waiting for weeks to be collected. We're planning to revisit the viability of this option in the future :)

  • Pls do a special for the Sao Paolo again soon…it's the best!! And I was too slow and missed the last deal :)

PS to anyone thinking about buying from Lime Blue Coffee, I highly recommend, their coffee is brilliant, customer service is excellent, they run a business 100/100 (no affiliation, just very happy with product & service) - keep up the good work!

    • Hey @dammit time will tell when we'll do our next Brazil SO deal, but it has been a little while and we do take on board customer feedback. No promises, but you may be in luck some time soon, fingers crossed you don't miss out again :)

WOW what a wonderful vote of confidence, thank you immensely for sharing your tremendous feedback, it truly means so much to u. We're thrilled to know how much you've been enjoying your Lime Blue Coffee experience and we'll keep working hard to stay in your good books!!!

  • Damn left it too long to make my decision and missed out on the peaberry, guess I'll grab the regular SO along with the CM!

Edit: When the site comes back online, that is

    • +1

Hey @Diji yes the Peaberry flew out of online door at lightning speed, selling out the same day we launched it!

Apologies for any site lag, Shopify has been having some issues over the last half an hour. They usually resolve any issues fairly quickly. I've been regularly checking our site and haven't seem an impact on the customer side just merchant side. Just checked again now and our site hopefully looks like it's working.

Still some delicious options available. Sounds like a terrific combo order, thank you so much in advance :)

      • Managed to get my orders in :D

        • +1

Fantastic, music to my ears, thank you so much!

  • I'm sure for the FBC you use to get sent 500g of beans per month and not 400g?? Has this changed?

    • Hey @Solrak good observation!

Our FBC quantity increments have changed from 500g to 400g for this round and we've reduced price per product has been reduced to reflect this change. It's just a test based on customer feedback, some unique custom packaging we're in the process of creating and the fact that our recent FBC Surprise Mystery Flight sold out so quickly last time (received multiple emails from people who missed out, so 400g means the available quantity goes further). Also because delivery companies have started rounding up shipping costs e.g. 1kg of coffee weighs ~20-30 grams over 1kg due to packaging and now delivery companies are charging us to ship 3kg of weight for only 1kg of coffee (we're looking at options to address this as it's not viable to continue the recent round up).

Don't worry any change sitewide won't happen overnight and customer feedback will have a weighted impact on outcomes :)

      • Good to know, thanks for the speedy reply. I've ordered 1kg Kenya Nyeri Single Origin for next month but will be back for some FBC goodness once we finish the Nyeri SO.

        • Woohoo, that's terrific to hear, nice combo of Kenya then FBC!

Thank you so much for your recent orders with us, they're truly appreciated :)
