Cheers OP. Just moved into a new home and these deals are helping with the sting.

  • Got Ikea GC to hopefully buy some cheap LAADAs, good 25% flat cb.

BTW it does says "usable 48 hrs from issue date"

    • The LADDAs are still on discounted prices too, bonus!

      • +1

Yea But I worried of overspending I might keep the GC, and wait for another deal like this

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/649623 in future this year. But probably wont come, It didn't come in 2022. So I doubt it, But worth a wait I reckon

    • "usable 48 hrs from issue date"

That is the painful bit. Was going to buy a GC to go to Ikea. Might be way to stop last minute GC purchases.

  • Thanks op, dinner sorted

Can IKEA gift cards be used in the restaurant?

    • +2

      In my experience yes (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و

      • Nice, 13 hot dogs for $14.40

        • Lol please no

        • Unexpected username mismatch

    • Yes!!!

    • For reference, IKEA returns cards (at least ones with a PIN on the back) can be redeemed at the restaurant too. You will need to tell the staff member you have an IKEA returns card and hand it to them to redeem it.

Handy if you use the IKEA buy-back service and then are not sure how to use the funds on the IKEA returns card given to you.

I’ve never bought Bunnings GC before, if not mistaken i heard some inconvenience how their system works regarding unused balance of the GC? Do they really still give back unused balance in the forms of combinations of more physical GC + cash for the portion under $10?

    • Yes. How is that an inconvenience though? Buy 15* 5c washers in seperate transactions and you end up with $149.25 cash, 15 washers and a stack of wasted plastic all for only $135.

      • Cheapest washer is 10c ea, this guy below did the maths. Good way to cash out i guess.

        • Okay so I just have to make sure to buy them GCs in $10 denominations yeah. TIL bunnings hack. You legend! Tyvm Mr. Culkin!

But do that’s if you really have nothing else to spend $150 on right? If you do then might as well spend all than do this tedious hack 🫣

          • @noelhoi: You can buy any denomination. They give change in giftcards plus up to $9.95 cash (as lowest denomiation of giftcard is $10).

And then return all the washers without a receipt to get a store credit and do it again.

          That’s nuts

People don't normally do the equation as lining up for under $1.60 a go is not worth it .
But again the people that get a thrill with a $2 bonus here might be excited hehe .

      • Only a matter before we see OzB millionaires. Saved $1m but still living pay cheque to pay cheque?

      • but im always at bunning every weekend anyway between kids pickups so might as well be making the most of it.

        • Their coffee is surprisingly better than most of the proper coffee shops.
