Gaming PC: RTX 4080, i7-13700F, Z790-A Wi-Fi, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, 1000W PSU $3,188+ Delivery ($0 MEL C&C) @ BPC Tech

Looks like a pretty solid rig, with a decent saving. Honestly, not much I'd change, maybe just add a bigger SSD or add a second 1tb.

The ssd is a tad underwhelming for a $3k pc. Would swap it for a mid range option, or even top end as it'll only be an extra $50 or so.

    • Yep agree. 1TB KC3000 for extra $60.

    • Would upgrading the SSD to something faster be noticeable if you're just gaming and never really transferring files?

      • It's only really for gaming. Even a basic ssd do 2gb/s+, won't find much connectivity options that go that fast!

Gaming really impacts loading say assets to a GPUs memory, where it can easily use a full 5+ gb/s.

Also the higher end SSDs have better iops for small files that the os/programs typically use, which has a pretty decent impact.

Is it a deal breaker? No. But it's also $50 or so on a $3k pc. Doesn't feel like a big increase.

        • That is good to know, thanks for the response - which one would you recommend for these kind of specs in the 1TB?

          • @Dank Memer: I'd ask them what their "high speed" upgrade is for $60.

Otherwise there are a bunch in the ~5gb/s tier with some dram. I can't find any recent 1tb posts however.

    Waiting for 7800X3D + 4080 deal under 3K 🤞

  • +5

Be aware - long wait times from these guys. I ordered 2 weeks+ ago and likely won't see it for another 2+ weeks

    • +2

I ordered a pc for xmas for my son early december, arrived late january, not ideal, happy with the build, but the opportunity cost was high, lots of much better deals during the wait

    • +2

I ordered on 6th of Jan and picked up on 16th of Jan.

Was pretty happy with the experience

      • thats awesome! I think I may have just ordered right when things were getting busy. Plus I am in QLD for the shipping

  • This better than the current AMD deal?

  • -1

do you really need an i7 here - just save $100 and some power by betting i5 13600 kf
    + id go for a cheaper ddr4 - 16 g

    • +1

People are looking for a future proofing build, that why it is DDR5 build

      • -1

by the time DDR5 makes any difference it will be 3-5 years min, and you will need a new set up

        • +1

Umm no, we are not talking just DDR5 here, DDR4 means new Motherboard + CPU if upgrading in 3-5 years. With this build, potentially you are upgrading only the GPU in 3-5 years.

          • -2

@Justin9mm: so keep same CPU for 5 years and only get a new GPU?
            doubt it

            • +1

@botchie: CPU should still suffice though.

    • The real question is do you need a 4080 here? A 13700f is already bottlenecked against a 4080 for anything under 4k resolution.

Going to a 13600kf would make that even worse.

  • Seems like it's worth adding two front fans to reduce the temperatures: https://youtu.be/4tyRTk499OI?t=793

    • It probably already has front fans since it has that 280mm AIO
      Which is presumably mounted there

      • Looking at the case, it only includes one exhaust fan, and the one intake fan mounted at 45º. I don't think it does - the above review mentions you're expected to buy fans

        • +1

Being a 280mm AIO it will be installed on the front, you could buy two 120mm fans for the top for more airflow.

Seems like everyone experiences long wait times with BPC. Does anyone know if it's possible to pick up the parts not assembled?

    • +1

Yeah very long, but generally it works out quite a bit cheaper.

    • +2

Wasn't long for me. My 'pre' build was done in 10 days

  • Can this run warhammer 3 with quck end turn times?

  • Based on OPs feedback, how long should I expect to be delivered?

  • +5

Here is my experience with BPC so far… Im sure its not the same for all, but sometimes it helps to hear the things gone wrong when deciding to buy. I ordered the centurion build off them, and was confirmed with a sales rep on phone that they would install windows. I sent a follow up email to reconfirm the agreement and received an email back 'no we wont do that, but will give you a 16gb stick to do it yourself' - went back on the promise - i moved on. I was lucky in that the build was under 2 weeks and i drove out to pick it up (50 mins each way, plus tolls). Was not given the memory stick, but when prompted they gave me an 8gb stick not the 16gb - not a biggy, but again, not what i was told. Got the computer home and worked out straight away that they put in the wrong GPU, AIO and PSU in the build. Had to send it back with a promise of 'we will fix and send it back as soon as we get it'. Note that they did not put any packaging around the GPU when they gave it to me… Anyway, I had to call them after 2 days to ask what was happening, and after being promoted they worked on it that day. I was then told it would be sent out to me immediately. Two days later (today), I call them to confirm it has been posted - response was 'its here for you to pick up'…. so still no PC. I'm just waiting for the next issue when they finally do post it and it arrives. Like I said, im sure 90% people have no issues, but wanted to share my 'BPC' experience. pretty poor.

    • +1

BPC have typically been pretty good, thanks for sharing. I have bought a computer from Techfast a few years ago but was going with BPC for my Diablo 4 build given tehir contact and reputation etc.
      @BPC Technology
Can you respond to assist future buyers?

    • -1

2 weeks ago, they offered $299+ with free shipping
at that time, I would like to buy 2 items cost near $400, but no free shipping when I checked out on their website
I read the T & C, they were a cpu and a ram, post address is to Syd metro area, surely meet their free shipping offer
so I emailed them and ask why, but no reply until then
I ended up buying somewhere else

  • Very tempted but feedback not great. Think I will keep waiting for a techfast 4080 build.

  • +5

I think the deal is great, but sellers practice to charge additional for "Extra Secure Packaging and Freight Insurance Included" just rub me the wrong way. If you are selling items online it is your responsibility to ensure I receive a product in good condition. If it arrives damaged its a problem for a sender not a purchaser.

    According to https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/products-and-services/proble…

If a product arrives damaged, it may not meet the ‘consumer guarantee’ of acceptable quality. To meet this guarantee, it must be:

-fit for the purpose for which it is commonly supplied
-safe, durable and free from defects
    -acceptable in appearance and finish

  • it would be good if they can offer a downgrade option of the mobo and power supply. There is no point spending extra money on Z790 and 1000W PSU for 13700F.

    • These companies price these builds based on the hardware they can secure in bulk for the cheapest price which keeps cost down so if they managed to get a good deal on a certain 1000W PSU buying in bulk then that's what they will include, it may be cheaper for them then giving you then a lower powered GPU they have or need to order. Otherwise, there would be a myriad of options you could choose from.

  • Can you get a different case I dont like white

  • How noisy would a setup like this be?

  • +1

anyone have experience on how long bpc take to do a build? I ordered 3 weeks ago and included the extra option for faster build and shipping. Still nothing from them on starting let alone completing the build other than -parts allocated-

    • +2

I'm in the same boat as you with this one.

      • +1

I was thinking about putting a pre-order in. On the website it says back in stock on the 14/04 so I assume you guys might be waiting until then lol

      • ok update I got it just before easter. ~4 wks total and I had to chase them a couple of times. They don't answer emails but do answer the phone
Overall I'm quite happy. Really nice NZXT case, EVGA AIO and a gigabyte 4080 16GB OC, so better specs than I was expecting
It was well put together, cable management was decent.

    • ordered on 13th of march, still havent seen it yet.
