Popped into the local BWS to grab a bottle of Sake and was pleasantly surprised by the massive discount.
Website still listing normal price, but apparently these are being cleared and will no longer be stocking them anymore - not sure if just my local BWS but worth checking out.
50% off - Kizakura Yamahai Sake $13 & Dewazakura Dewa Sansan Sake $16.50 in-Store @ BWS (Selected Stores - Limited Stock)

Thanks I'll check em out, which one do you reccomend?
Both on half price, try both! ;)
Not half price at my local. Boooooo!
Dewazakura is much nicer, but a very small bottle for the price.
Any good? How does this compare to Dassai?
Not close, but it is nice enough at retail and at 1/2 price it's worth it
Which grade of Dassai are you comparing it to?
Half price is worth grabbing a bottle of each to try it out and see if you like it. It will still be cheaper than a Dassai 45.
I have tried them before and I don't think they are as good as a 39. I don't drink 45 so I can't comment on that one.
Good point!
The Kizakura is your bog standard sake - similar to what you would find if you order house sake at restaurants. Still a very nice drink and better than say the Gekkeikan imo.
The Dewazakura is a fantastic drop.the Takamasamune KuraKura 300ml is on clearance at my local for $9. any good you reckon?
Have had before, was nothing special.
I haven't drunk sake in years, but I don't mind it — and half price booze is half price booze š
Do you mind telling us which store please?
Tried my local 4160 no stock
Mine had them half-price the other day. Forrestfield, Perth.
Kingsway Perth
No discount. Ask them and they said they've no plan to discontinue them.
Still usual price at BWS Bull Creek too.
Just checked in melb cbd area. Not yet on sale. Staff said maybe sale will be rolled out soon, stock discontinued i believe
do we know the expiry date? thanks
Spirits have use by dates?
They do. Most Japanese sake should be consumed within 1yr from manufacturing date. Taste deteriorates afterward
These are pasteurized sake's so they don't have expiry dates, but manufacture date is June 22 for the Kizakura and Aug 22 Dewazakura so should be fine for another 6 months to a year.
Simply luv sake but it is the only alcohol that gives me a hangover - and how!!
Nil on sale at ACT REGION yet.
Not available at 3 separate Brisbane cbd, QLD locations
also in brissie, thanks for checking mate!
Tried at local in Brissie - don't even stock Sake! Had been in Japanese restaurant next door.
Shows available at 2 nearby suburban stores. Likely not discounted. But even if it was and not on clearance would they price match?
Two I visited had no sale and confirmed via a scan. One had one of the items at 30% off but not 50%. They did not know of the sale and just looked confused when I showed the photo.
It's on clearance on website but still shows $33
Plenty of stock Brisbane north side
@Poor Ass: Yeh needs to have 50% discount confirmed in store it seems and as yet no one has in QLD?
@Appleboat: went to a couple still $33 full price now it has gone down to $28.50 I think
@Poor Ass: Yeh its an unknown brand to me, Iād stock up if 50% off
@Appleboat: I also saw couple of old ass Jan 2020 manufactured dusty bottles. Probably not drinkable.
Love me some sake. Great for shots and packs a wallop.
Packs a wallop at 15% ABV?
It does once you finish the 700ml bottle :D
True š
check the manufacture date first!
don't waste your money if it's older than 12 monthsHas anyone had success in store in SA?
Fountain gate (3805) BWS is normal price
Thanks OP, I'll swing past tomorrow morning to see if they have any stock at my local
