    This software includes modes or features for which an internet connection and a paid membership to Nintendo Switch Online are required. Any online play modes require a paid membership to Nintendo Switch Online.

    So, to play online with those 7 friends, everyone will need an NSO subscription. Thankfully it's easy to setup a family group (check the Forums for regular posts about getting a group together for the year).

    It also features local wireless play (1-8 people) or 2 people for couch co-op.
