How you get it down to $772.20?

    • Sorry, fixed

I used a gift card and got confused.

Is this good for watching 8k movies? I don't play games, i only play with

    • +2

Where can you get 8k movies to play with?

    • +2

The only 8K movies I'm aware of are not going to be on the PlayStation store xD

      • Damn, there goes me entertaining myself

Not sure if it's just my unit but the PQ is grainy af on cinematic mode so Blu-rays, streaming apps, non-vr gaming etc all look pretty bad for mine (can see tiny pixels everywhere so maybe either screen door effect or mura or a combination of both).

Same also during GT7 for the most part (in VR showroom it's not as noticeable) but not too bad in Horizon COTM and Kayak Mirage.

I'm just a bit confused and not exactly sure whether it's just my unit and/or my eyes being more sensitive to these effects. I don't see this sort of thing mentioned on most reviews online.

Hey there's a thread on ResetEra where people are experiencing the same thing, but it seems like you just need to move the headset around a bit to get the 'sweet spot'. That was certainly the case in the OG PSVR. Hope this helps.

        • Cheers bud I'll check that out but doubt that's the issue tho my eye balls are pretty much right in the centre in the PSVR IPD calibration settings tool haha.

These things are tough to explain I guess but the best way I can put it is it's like going right up to your telly and watching it where you see all the tiny pixels and sort of black squares around them.

          • +1

@dins: Might be Mura effect you're talking about. But I know even the IPD settings don't seem to be perfect - you need to fuss with the headset itself to move it.

            • @OfTheOverflow: Yeah I think it might be a combination of mura and screen door effect. Maybe some people are more susceptible or sensitive to seeing it because most reviews and users don't mention it. Either that or my unit is faulty.

For me it's quite bothersome because I bought it just for GT7 and aside from VR show room (which btw is amazeballs!) it's definitely noticeable and difficult to ignore. First time I put it on I immediately took it off thinking that there might be plastic protectors on the lenses or something but sadly nope that wasn't it haha.

Having said that tho it's still an awesome piece of kit for the price I think especially if you already own a PS 5.

          • @dins: DF touch briefly on it in this video at 8:48 if that helps you at all. I'm still on the fence whether or not I'll get one. I'll wait until I hear a few more personal reviews like yours. I wonder if we still need higher density screens before the "screen door" effect is mitigated

      • I saw some reviews on less popular sites that talk about the mura being very bad, and I can agree having used it.

  • Can someone DM me a code please , thanks .

  • Does the student beans code only work with certain products? I'm trying to add a code for a Sony tv and even though it accepts the code it doesn't discount the price.

  • Would anyone have a code to share?

  • all i need is a student bean code…

  • I would appreciate if someone share spare code. Thanks.

  • Can anyone PM me a code please? Thanks

  • Anyone have a spare code they're not using, for either this or the God of War Ragnarok deal? Would be much appreciated, thank you

  • Anyone with a space code please? Thanks :)

    • thank you!

  • If someone has a spare code and doesn't plan to use it, please send it my way - thank you.

  • forgot my pre-order until someone knocked on the door… not many games out there to play with the headset now? Maybe I should return it to amazon..

    • Yeahh it's not a great purchase right now. I sorta regret it despite being super into VR. Horizon is cool, the tech is cool (eyetracking feels like magic), but yeah not that many games. And visually it's actually not as good as I expected.

        wait for RE4

Hearing that a lot re the display, feel as though Sony have misled people a bit with this.

        • I think it's also the reviewers calling it crystal clear. It's really not if you're coming from another headset (that isn't the PSVR1). It's decent, don't get me wrong, but it's inferior to some existing headsets clarity wise.

      • +1

It's sad to hear about the display, they haven't actually bought any real tech to the VR scene with the psvr2 and the only thing they couldve done was push the screen tech.

        • Eye tracking is pretty neat. But otherwise yeah it's pretty incremental.

Are you not aware of the massive lineup of games available at launch? RE8 in VR is insanely immersive and looks amazing through the headset whilst also playing really well too, GT7 is executed really well and I have heard it is even better if you have a wheel, Horizon Call of the Mountain is getting really good reviews and seems to be an excellent showcase for the unit, Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator are both really fun games to play in VR for just messing around and having that casual experience, Pavlov seems to be a really great example of FPS shooter style games in VR with some really neat features, Kayak VR is a stunningly beautiful and relaxing experience whilst also being pretty action packed in race mode, Song in The Smoke looks great, Pistol Whip, Switchback, Moss 1 and 2, Walking Dead Saints and Sinners 2, Tetris Effect, No Mans Sky as well as all the other great looking games packed in there, these are just some select titles that really interest me and seem like they would appeal to most.

Hard to really say that there are not many games to play on the unit with such a packed out lineup on day 1. I only have like 4 of these so far and I am already overwhelmed with which one to play whenever I jump on.

  • If you have a spare code, please send it to me. Really appreciated. Thank You !

  • EE72EF7DDFB1 here is my code

    • Oops! Someone already used it.

      • It was you wasn’t it? 😉

  • Please DM any spare code, as soon as I try to use it and checkout cart. It just goes away. Too fast!

  • Can I please have one also? thanks
