You can port out and back in to be a new customer. I used a $1 Optus E-SIM for a day.
Also, boost are introducing 5G speed caps (150Mps) from 4 April but if you buy this and activate it before then, you’ll have uncapped speed until next time you recharge.
How painless was the process?
On the boost side of things, it was super simple, I was gone for a day then ported back in fine.
On the Optus side, it was slightly painful because you can’t activate the prepaid e-sim if you’re porting online without speaking to the live chat. Maybe a $2 physical sim from any carrier that can activate online would have been better.
@Cucumber123: I did not know you can port using $2 sim. Last time I bought 1$ amaysim they asked for at least 10$ recharge before they could activate the sim, which is BS.
Same for Telstra pre-paid. It's not specific to Boost, it's Telstra pre-paid services across the board.
I did yesterday. No need to port out port in.
I just told boost customer service rep. that i got it new sim pack ($300) instead of recharge accidentally. She fixed it within minutes. No issues
Also got offficework to price beat. $253
at lucky mobile. Just ring price beat at office works, they will price beat and pick the sim from your nearest office work.

Great price beat will bring it down to $240.35
Thanks, easiest price match I've done and the staff seemed to be aware of it already.
Amazing thanks , just went to officework in store and I got it for 240.35 because of the shipping added
Why does the website seem so fake XD the links don't even work.
Hey just wondering did Boost customer rep switch your number to the new SIM? Or added $300 to your existing SIM therefore allowing you to keep your existing unused data?
They said to me they can only transfer my number to new SIM, and I would lose existing data. Not sure if I got a bad rep or if that was the truth?
I just called the boost customer service this morning, and the rep is happy to port my old number to a new $200 sim starter card I purchased last year.
I lost the use of phone for 15 minutes, and everything is good now.
Alternatively just chat to boost service rep and ask for a discount.
I got a $30 refund on $200 yearly recharge. Reduces the hassle of having to port out of boost for a day.
this consistently goes down to $230-$240 throughout the year (sometimes less). If you aren't in a rush I'd say wait.
$244 right here. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/353181073887
Says $264.69?
Might need eBay Plus.
below that it says pay onlt $244.xx then there is a link that says SHOW ME HOW. that shows the coupon code. not sure if it is just for me or for all users
Your reply piqued my interest so I took a look :-)
I didn’t see anything about onIt, but did see a different targeted voucher code. I ended up getting 2 of these for $479.38 ($239.69 each for me and wife). The code said $10, but at checkout it was $50 off!
Non ebayer? That’s a thing?
Wish these big companies looked after their loyal, old, existing customers with big discounts. It's always new customers that get the better deals.
The loyalty penalty is real
It is! And to be frank, it's a joke. Yes they have to real in new clients but they can do that by hearing about the discounts current customers they have, are getting. Just the way my mind thinks….
How much data can I add if I am run out of actual data.
Dang.. New customer only
