Amazing Chef (Processor / Blender / Juicer) $16 @ Global Shop Direct

62

Just: $1 + $14.95 P&H. This was posted earlier in the year, but am reposting as the deal is still available. (I recently bought one which arrived about a week ago.)

The Amazing Chef is a food processor for delicious salsa. It's a powerful chopper that chops onions without the tears and it's a big sized blender for frozen margaritas! The secret is the powerful motor that circulates and drives the food into the supercharged cutting zone. Mix an omelette in seconds, make your own fresh protein shakes and then attach the sipping ring and your container becomes your glass. The Amazing Chefs blades are made to the highest standards of German stainless steel and are dishwasher safe.

What You Get:

  • High Torque Base
  • Tall cup
  • Short Cup
  • Flat Blade
  • Crown/Chopping Blade
  • 2x Stay Fresh usable lids
  • Juicer attachment
  • Blender attachment (3 pieces)
  • Instruction Book/Recipe Book
  • PLUS four entertaining/party mugs (not shown in picture)

Amazing Chef from Global Shop Direct

It is excellent quality compared a cheapy version I purchased earlier in the year - it's not as noisy for one and the pulse function actually works!

The instructions for use are well written and the recipe book actually contains some dishes I would make (including baby food).

I use it for grinding rice for baby food, grinding coffee, blending baby food, frozen cocktails/mocktails, smoothies. Great Christmas present or gift to self!

  • RRP $159 bwaaaaaaahahahahaa

  • While I'd never pay that much for one, that price may be pretty right. This is really similar to the Magic Bullet which sells for US$100 (well, for two). But I've seen them go on ebay for around AU$80.

  • wow it does look like the magic bullet…dont know why peopel on ebay would spend 90 bucks on it!! btw I am hesistant about it…i want a bar mixer for home use and proper mixers cost 300+ so was wondering if this would do the trick.

  • My own experience using this product:

    • Delivery took looong time. Mine one arrived after 5 weeks.
    • Built quality is very poor:
      • One mug broke its handle right after opened the box.
      • The bolt that holds the blades easily loosen and after few usage, the bolts completely out.
      • It leaks during the usage
      • The blender chewed up all the rubber seal and including all two spares.

Total days spent before chucked them to the bin: 5 days.

No wonder they reduced them to $1 and yet still have them in stock after so long, I guess people just returning them for refund.

    • Mine is still running strong though, however I couldn't agree more about the blender chewing up the white rubber seals. All four of my spares have been pureed in my soup. I think the amount of food I wasted as a result of rubber contamination costs more than the blender.

      • mind commenting more on this?
are the rubber seals fine when blending cold food?
seems like a pretty big safety issue

        • It doesn't matter if the food is hot or cold food, the rubber seal that sits between the base of the blender and the cup can easily come off. The rubber seal is just like an 'o' ring that does not lock tightly in place. So as your food gets spun around in the blender, it might suck in the rubber seal too.

I don't think it's a safety issue unless you consume the food that has rubber blended in it. :)

          • @pauly: I haven't blended a rubber seal (yet?) but I did notice it come out of place because my cup started leaking once when I turned it. I just put it back in the grooves and twisted back onto cup and it sealed fine. I think if it is in place properly like that it shouldn't get sucked up.

    • My experience with the Amazing Chef:

      • Delivery time: 1 week
      • Mine seems built really well - no broken parts.
      • I haven't had issues with bolt loosening (yet? going on two weeks).
      • It only leaked the first time because the rubber seal came out, but when I adjusted and put back in groove it did not leak again.

I bought a similar 'mini processor' earlier this year from Aldi for $25 and that was crap. The motor was so noisy, pulse function did not work, instruction book was dodgey, one mug cracked when blade screwed on too tight, etc. Thankfully I was able to return for refund (love Aldi's satisfaction guarantee :)

Anyway, I plan on buying the Amazing Chef as gifts for family/friends as I am very happy with it.

  • seems reasonable although you can probably pick it up for the same price from reject shops

    • How is it reasonable if it breaks as soon as you get it lol. Thats just plane throwing your money down a drain…

      • are you talking from experience?
