I think they would do much better to advertise it as "cheap and tasty, does the trick" etc instead of bullshit claims about awards or how it's a such & such export (looking at you Bec Hardy). It's cheap plonk, it'll taste fine if you've had a few warm up beers, but it isn't a Grange FFS.

      • Bec Hardy, Robert Oatley wines is another overpriced………

@Irishness Each to their own. One of the great aspects of wine is its subjectivity. If you are ever in McLaren Vale, I'd be delighted for an opportunity to change your mind. Please give me a call on 0433 166 181 or email me at [email protected] and I'd be happy to walk you through the wines from top to bottom and maybe change your mind. Have a great weekend. RD :-)

          • @RD ADL: agree on subjectivity & I'm sure there's a wine from almost every winery I'd enjoy the trick sometimes is finding it, funnily enough was in McLaren Vale before Xmas on holiday had some great SA wines, thanks for the offer & have a great weekend too

            • @Irishness: @Irishness As an import myself to SA twenty years ago, I've always said you'd have to work seriously hard to find a bad wine in SA. Open offer, so please do keep the contact details. Sounds like you had a great time in SA and the Vale and we look forward to welcoming you back! Drink well this weekend. Cheers! RD :-)

@TheJudge couldn't and won't let the comment pass if you are to question my integrity. I'll gladly stand by every wine we put up. Frankly, neither Bec nor I would put our names to a wine we weren't proud of or that we don't drink ourselves.

The wines we offer on OzBargain are part of the Wine Shed Sale a concept running for over twelve years between the two businesses we've either operated or owned. There's a full explanation here of the concept -> https://bechardy.com.au/blogs/blog-news/what-is-the-wine-she…

Have a great weekend. Cheers! RD :-)

        • Chill RD, no one's questioning your integrity…to clarify, I was referring to your posts that reference "such & such country export", implying some sort of prestige comes from that. As I explained, I think this sort of branding is irrelevant & you'd be better served telling it how it is - affordable, reasonable quality wines. That being said, it's not my product (though I have purchased & enjoyed Bec Hardy wines before).

          • @Ham Dragon: @TheJudge thanks for clarifying. Certainly not trying imply any prestige from declaring that a wine might have an export back label. On the contrary we’re trying to be transparent. When we do it it is to point out you might see things on the back label that are different.

Not making any claims of grandeur on any of the wines other than they over deliver at the price to quality ratio and third party endorsement backs up that stance.

Bec’s birthday last night, of the 500,000 bottles available to me to drink plus our personal cellar, I drank the 2022 Langhorne Creek Shiraz we offered the other day - why because with or without a score or a review (of which it has neither yet) it’s just a bloody good drop.

Have a great weekend. Please get in touch if you are down the Vale soon and we’ll have a yarn over a few glasses. All the best RD :-)

Have you actually tried Bec Hardy's wine? It'd still be very good wine at double the price. Definitely doesn't need any warm-up beers.

      • Don't mention this eBay goon in the same sentence as Bec hardy wines. Pertaringa Yeoman and undercover Shiraz are some of my favs.

  • Don’t know what they are like but I bought the mixed dozen from 4 varieties selection $64. Basically $5.30 a bottle

Perhaps one of the most surprising finds in a long while. Linguring depth of flavour with a subtle warmth and an arousing bouquet. Oops wrong glasses, reading the back of Listerine……

  • I have tasted the 'Three Brunches' before - I would surmise that at $5.30/bottle you are not getting a hot bargain, but you ARE getting your money's worth.
