Available in both black and white. Decent deal for a great cable (lowest price ever, according to my ccc). A sub-$15 price for a high quality cable is a decent deal, about as low as I've seen any of the USB-IF certified cables.

Having said that, I believe the Powerline II is USB-IF certified, this one isn't. My one is going strong though, and Anker charging cables have a great reputation.

You should buy this if you're sick of getting cables that stop working at the drop of a pin. Yes, I know this one isn't $2 like the frequent deals you get posted here from AliExpress and the like… but you get what you pay for.

For reference, I spent like an hour trying to find as many USB-IF certified cables as I could on Amazon AU, and made a shared wishlist: https://www.amazon.com.au/hz/wishlist/ls/3KPWIAZI6OF8W/

Would love to get tipped off to any others I may have missed.

    • Any cable that do faster transfer files?

      • +2

the ones labelled as USB4 should transfer pretty darn fast. 40gbps apparently. I personally haven't tried. ANd i'm sure that's only if both devices are compatible with the USB4 standard? I won't pretend to be an expert, hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in.

I personally never use a USB cable for data transfer. Wifi is so much more convenient and bloody quick - quicker than my cable, but that might just be me.

Push from PC method: I use SyncThing on my phone and my PC and transfer via WiFi using that. I've set up a two way sync. i copy stuff to the folder on my PC named "Send to phone", then it just gets sent to phone via syncthing at VERY fast speeds. Once it's on my phone in a folder named "Received from PC", I transfer it to "downloads" or w/e, it gets wiped off from PC automagically. stuff gets sent before i can get up and find my USB-C cable lel

Pull on phone: Or you can get solid explorer / MiXplorer on your phone, share a folder on your PC, connect to that folder on your phone and transfer whatever you want.

        • I guess it’s this you are talking about https://syncthing.net/
Thanks, I will need to look into this. Looks good for send/receiving files…any good for auto backups maybe?

At the moment I have SweetHome on our phones to auto backup photos to a hard drive connected to the router. Set to backup when phone charging and on wifi.
I have nothing for a laptop, did have sync tool for MS power tools but that stopped working ages ago.

      • Unless you have a specific need for faster speeds, you could look at a USB 3.1 cable.

  • Can anyone please recommend any adapters so I can use this type of cable in my cars normal usb port for Android auto?

  • I end up buying the ugreen brand as it is cheaper

While brands like baseus and ugreen have a decent reputation online, it's worth noting that (afaik) their USB cables are not USB-IF certified. It's almost certain that their cables are not as high quality as Anker ones, especially the ones by Anker that ARE USB-IF certified.

      • Good to know

      • But you said this Anker one is not certified.
Not sure what certified means, one seller says the chip used is certified USBis, is that what it means, or does it mean something about the whole cable specs?
