Damn, and to think you were selling this for 1050 just 3 months ago. Thanks for the great deals Luke!

    • +1

yeah i feel jibbed :( its cause bpc etc are being competitive with the deals which is great but yea…

      • +3

If it makes you feel better, I bought Luke's 3060TI for 1288 last year. And even before that, I bought a 3060 (non TI) for myself off amazon at the height of its price for 1300 off Amazon!

        • that sounds painful. 1300 now could get you 4070ti…

      • +4

Do you feel jibbed, or gypped?

        verb
        1. (of an animal, especially a horse) stop and refuse to go on
Example: "he jibbed at the final fence"

        • +1

I believe he is using the nautical term.

  • Wow! Excellent value.

  • +32

With BPC you at least know what parts you are getting.

    750W PSU (650W Bronze upgrade for $39)

What sort of 750w PSU can you expect when you have to pay $39 to upgrade to a 650W PSU?

  • +3

  • +7

I think the 3060ti alone was for this much not too long ago

  • +1

Has anyone actually received their previously ordered PC and if so, how long did it take?

There does not appear to be an ETA on any units.

    • +1

Mine took approx a month to arrive.

    • +1

Took around 2-3 weeks for me

    • +2

Ordered around the end of November? Took 18 days to be shipped. In the order confirmation email they mentioned that at that time, the average take for an order to be completed was 14 business days.

    • +1

Just under a month here - ordered Aus Day, shipped yesterday and currently with Auspost and due to be delivered by mid next week.

      • +1

Same here. Ordered the 3600|3070ti on Aus day and got shipped just yesterday. ETA 23-28 Feb
Their invoice does not mention any part brand either.

Thought I'd share this throwback from one year ago:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/688769

We were spending the same amount for just the 3060Ti alone

  • "Warning: Coupon is either invalid, expired or reached its usage limit!"

Just 35 minutes after the deal was posted.

    • +1

      Hi there,
The coupon is still working, maybe try a different browser to place your order?
Let me know if this helps.

  • Does the mobo have hdmi or usbc port?

    • +2

The Motherboard will have HDMI, but it will not really be on any use, as the 5500 does not have integrated graphics.

      • How do i connect a monitor to the desktop if HDMI has no use?

        • Directly to the GPU, which mostly likely with have at least 1 HDMI and DisplayPort (didn't actually check)

        • You will need to use the ports from the GPU, which is the component that will produce a display.

  • -3

how long to earn my money back if i run this a bitcoin miner?

  • Can we get a GPU upgrade option please?

    • +1

      750W PSU (650W Bronze upgrade for $39)

      I wouldn’t take my chances there 😬

      • Can we get a GPU and PSU (750W gold) upgrade please

  • Hi brains trust which computer is the better computer…this or the BCP tech for $999. Just need a computer for light gaming, surfing and some video editing for YouTube posting and whatever new tasks that pop up. Thx.

    • BCP Tech obviously

  • any chance for 12gb gpu upgrade option?

    • +4

The 3060Ti is supposed to be 8gb.
      The 3060 12gb is a slower card.

      • need it for stable diffusion

        • +2

          Well fair enough.
I'm sure Techfast would be happy to charge you extra for a 12gb 3060 if they have one around.

    • would like to know what brand the GPU is

  • +6
    1. Buy from Techfast
    2. Pay to upgrade the power supply. Generic power supplies destroy PCs.
    • New to the gaming PC realm. How is the quality of Allied PSU?

      • It's not a proper well know brand. That doesn't mean it will necessarily fail, but it doesn't have the reputation and trust you get with the leaders in this space. It might be made with cheaper parts, less refined design, or worse QC. That doesn't mean it will fail, but it is slightly more likely to.

Power supply failures range from annoying (stops working) to very occasionally catastrophic (ruins other parts).

Top teir brands are Seasonic and Corsair. Perfectly good brands are Thermaltake, Cooler Master, and all the companies that make motherboards. As with any statement on the internet, someone will disagree with these groupings, and they are already furiously typing out how I'm wrong.

        • Thank you very much for the answer! I really appreciate this information and it really sets the pathway and helps me avoid potential pitfalls :)

        • Don't know why someone negged you, but I find your recommendation helpful to some extent. So upvoted :)

  • +6

Upgrading the motherboard doesn't change the price in checkout.

    • +2

      Nice!

The real bargain is always in the comments!

    • They seemed to have fixed this bug now

  • How well does this run Flight Sim?

  • I currently have a old pc which was built in 2016 with intel i5 6600 and graphic card rx480, 16g ddr4 ram + a few Samsung evo ssd.

Looking for an upgrade… occasional gamer. Occasional adobe photoshop and Lightroom etc…

    • +3

      …was there a question…?

    • Buy this deal sell old pc.. Simple.. Next!

  • +4

The power supply quality circlejerk has got to end… Generic no-names aren't fire hazards, you have stuff like the S12II which is an outdated group regulated design missing several power protections (likely worse than what's in this unit) and it's one of the best selling units to this date with standard failure rates and good reviews. In fact sometimes cheaper designs actually give you higher efficiency ratings; it has nothing to do with quality.

It's like anti static wristbands, you have all these tech tubers sharing their KeY bUiLdInG tIpS and always throwing in power supply quality and suddenly the entire internet hyperfocuses on what really doesn't matter all that much.

    • The risk of failure might be the same as any other component, following the bathtub curve, but you can't deny the failure outcomes are a lot more serious - and unlike say a GPU it won't always fail safe, nor isolate the failure and not spread damage. I'm certainly not the only person who's experienced catastrophic failures of PSUs first-hand.

The brand has very little to do with the root problem - it's the quality control during manufacturing. You pay more for a 'good' brand on the premise and historical record of lesser faults because of their investment in QC which cannot be a given in a cheaper product, since testing and quality assurance are not mandatory for a good product - they only remove the faulty products with a diminishing return on the money and time spent on checking each item made.

Failure to acknowledge this is just confirmation bias - 'I've never had a cheap PSU fail, so it never happens!'

  • says on their site that the a320m mobo supports ram of up to 2666mhz. Is this true? If so, feels weird that they offer ram at higher speeds. also just looking at some other a320m chipsets on pc part picker, it like it does vary and support higher speeds. just a little confused

    • +2

Is A320m the ultra budget range of mobos that doesn't even support RAM overclocking? If so you're RAM won't run at even it's rated speed of 3200mhz right, so 2666 is the max?

Not sure how much that affects performance with a 5500 and RTX 3060 ti. Probably trivial difference, but definitely look into that before buying (or choose the mobo upgrade option).

    • Definitely runs at 3200Mhz, we'll update the site

      • Hey, I'm curious if it would actually arrive faster if you sent me the parts and I built it?

  • Hey @luketechfast would it be possible to ship this one unassembled? I would like to build it myself.

    • If you make a note when you order, or reply via email once you place it, it's perfectly fine.

Had my last two Techfast PC's delivered in parts, which was quite substantially quicker than the usual 3 weeks - presumably since they also then don't need to test the build before shipping.

    Hi Expert Gamers,

I am a NOVICE buyer, hence thanks for your patience.

AIM: Gaming @ 1080p ULTRA setting: with 30°C ambient temp. & 2 hours play.

    Here are my findings
1.RX 6700XT 12Gb: slightly cheaper than equivalent Nvidea for similar grunt, say RTX 3070 ?
2.R5 5600: slightly cheaper than equivalent Intel for similar grunt, say i5 12400F ?
    3.Case: 3 INtake & 1 exhaust-fan, mesh-front, top-vent.
    4.Mobo: PCIe 4.0, with VRM & heatsink.

The 1st 2 findings corporate thermal efficiency, ie runs slightly cooler for the same grunt level.
Ray tracing & overclocking are low priority.

If you feel I have been mis-lead, or haven't read widely, feel free to advise. Even better, back-up your suggestions with links to reviews from a creditable source.

    Appreciate your advice & expertise.

If you want something for 5 years get the 4070ti deal for around 2k you keep dribbling this nonsense on every desktop post. You haven't even said what games you play.. anything at 1080p ultra is piss easy to do..

  • These allied psu are a huge land fill. Dangerous to use. Should have option for no psu

  • Got any other similar builds in ATX form with a 3050?
