most likely. i havent read it, was trying to get advice for minimal effort.
I like your honesty. Take my upvote.
I got charged something by AGL after I put in my solar as well. Can't remember how much though.
thanks
This is a feed charged by your distributor to your retailer to configure your smart metre.
you solar install company should've told you about this.
globird is adding a nice 100% margin if it's $132.
STEP 7: AFTER THE INSTALL
Your solar power system has been installed. What next?
Unless your solar installer is also qualified to work on your meter (usually, they’re not), you’ll have to wait for a separate sparky from your electricity retailer or network to come and reconfigure your meter to measure your exports. They may even need to give you a whole new meter.
If it isn’t part of your installation quote, this usually costs about $300. It’ll cost more if you have a three phase supply.

all victorians should have smart meters by now, so there shouldn't be any changes in the meter
it's just admin cost by globird

A setup fee for new solar panel installations. This fee covers the cost of meter reconfiguration to be feed-in compatible, administration costs, and changing the tariff type to a solar tariff.
generic crap for all states.

Of course it is.

Very separate question.
Having the same issue, United advised for $69.53+GST, but Globird just sent me a bill for $132. Called United to ask if changing retailer during the meter reconfiguration process is a good idea, they said it's possible but whole thing can get messy and take longer time to get it done.
Can try chatting with customer service, they adjusted mine to $110. It's still a huge mark up and i'm not happy about it.
This cost me $17.31 at the start of 2023 with Red Energy. $132 is a joke.
was it listed in your contract?
