What if you've redeemed in the past but had them subsequently cancelled?
how many times do you need to learn to read???
A few times since I have 3 kids…
it says FREE 14-Day trial, and theres nowhere to put in that code…am I missing something?
From what I recall, you register yourself first so you can at least log in, and then add a child's name to your account. You can then add the trial code against each child's name.
From what I remember, you could use the trial code for more than one child but I am not 100% sure.
When I click on that register link in the email, the email address is already pre filled with someone else's details, seem they have a security flaw in this scheme.
For anyone interested in the ABC Reading Eggs, I would fully recommend it. We took advantage of the recent 'scam' where you could enter in hundreds of free trial codes, but they all got removed so we were left with a 3-4 week trial. We were so impressed with it that we bought an annual online subscription for around the $80 mark.
Our Son loves it. He can recognise every letter in the alphabet, can spell words and is well down the track to be reading before he even starts school next year. It wasn't our aim for him to be reading pre-school, we just wanted him to enjoy working with letters and words, and the Reading Eggs certainly achieved that.
We still had to spend some time helping him in certain areas, so you can't just dump your kids in front of the PC and walk away as I don't think they would gain from it.
Anyway, I just thought I'd throw in my opinion as I reckon it was $80 well spent.
I agree, I already was a subscriber and the games are fun and educational. Much of the 'learn to read' games are utter rubbish. This program is great. My son's membership has expired but it wont let me get a freebie. Pitty really. Looks like another $80 for me.
I've bought a number of reading "phonics" packages and they are all indeed utter crap . You would think that with the level of technology penetration out there we would have a plethora of great educational software but from what I've seen there's not . We have been getting reading eggs for free over the last couple of years free through our child's school and it is absolutely the best system I've seen . Well worth the $80 .
We stopped using it after the codes were revoked.
We didn't rejoin and we just went back to reading real books and since then, my son's reading has dramatically improved…
It may be worth a try if real books don't work for you, but i found the phonetic books out our local library to be more effective, and they're free
I have used this with both of my kids AND have also used this with my infants class at school (using the offline CD's). Was impressed with reading eggs but have been even more impressed with readingeggspress which is for the older readers once they have finished reading eggs (this is also covered in your purchase of reading eggs!) The reading strategy skills developed using games are good and the range of books in the library are bound to suit any readers interest.
I found this site just the other day but did not put up the link here in case it didn't work for Oz subscribers. http://www.jellyfingers.co.uk/reading-eggs is a link to a site offering a 12 month subscription for 19.95 POUNDS not dollars ($31.35 was what my Paypal amounted to). I took the punt and will await the one day left to see if the code they send me works for me in Aus.
Bet it won't work. I bought a US based deal and the codes didn't work. Readineggs allowed the code eventually but they had to be manually added. I'd check the t&c's carefully before you buy.
Just letting you know that my code worked perfectly and I now have an extra years subscription.
Hopefully I wasn't the only one who took the punt and others have also scored this bargain.
Ok this doesn't work if you got caught up in that code entering fiasco earlier in the year.
Kinda eggstreme really, considering we didn't actually do anything wrong, it was reading eggs' fault for not controlling their codes properly.
This code adds 3 weeks to the standard 2 week free trial on a new account.
BUT, if I add a new child to my old account, which was involved in the fiasco, I get 4 weeks anyway, without a promo code.
Not much difference. Will add to the above that readingeggs works well. I'm glad the ABC has not sold it's badge of approval lightly :)

But I am unable to figure out where to enter the code.
I have added a child and only options seem to be to subscribe.Any help would be appreciated
Edit:
found it
on the dashboard page, lower down on the right "Have a promo code?"Now shows "35 days left on your free trial"
Opportunity is spelt wrong
doesn't work if you've already redeemed 2 free codes in the past :(
