Hungry Jack's New Promotion with JB Hi-Fi Gift Cards - Sham?

I received a “Shake and Win” deal that included a $10 JB HiFi Gift Certificate .. I also won a $20 EFTPOS card as part of the promotion through the App.

I followed the instructions through the App, then two emails, entering codes to claim both and received an email for the JB Gift Certificate saying I would receive another code, this time to redeem at JB HiFi. I have heard nothing about the $20 EFTPOS Voucher.

This morning I receive the email claiming a code for the JB Gift Certificate is included - but it isn’t.

I have emailed the address provided by Hungry Jacks in case of problems, which says they will respond in three days - I am not confident.

So I am now up to 4 emails/steps to claim a Gift Certificate that was part of a promotional purchase and have heard nothing about the $20 EFTPOS Voucher I won.

I think this is a sham so that most give up on trying to redeem/claim.

Has anyone else endured this promotion?

Anyone succeeded in getting what was promised/won?

    Had the same issue. No code in the e-mail provided, it's just blank. Forward it to the e-mail at the bottom (note to keep the ID code in subject line intact) and they said they'll reply within 3 business days. I'm sure it'll get fixed.

    Something clearly has gone wrong in the system - doesn't mean automatic "sham".

        Doesn't surprise me – the app is inherently awful despite being around for years and years. It has gotten unusable on Android, even on the latest flagship devices. Shake and Win takes a good minute to load on my phone.

        Not like its competitors are any better – My Macca's is similar, and KFC has gone down the tube now too. All the money in the world; none of the quality!

          Last time I looked at task manager, the Hungry Jack's app was using 1.1GB of memory, it's unbelievable.

            @hamza23: The app is unbelievably awfully optimized I assume, because it runs sooooo sluggish on my phone… and the login rarely keeps the details, and I CBF resetting it while driving around

          Runs "ok" on my S21+ but unbearably slow on my S8+ (arguably the latter phone is due for upgrade).

          Not sure about others but I always need to restart the app when I do shake and win (on both old and new phones)

          Edit: Only won free medium fries so far, no luck with GCs.

          Have you ever used the app on iOS? I've never really had an issue with the HJ's or KFC app on iOS (although I rarely use either), Maccas has been good overall, there'll be some occasional glitches but overall it's still good.

            @Ghost47: Yep the iOS app is much more optimised, as per usual unfortunately – companies don't optimise for Android, given most devs/managers use iOS.

        Got another one randomly as per below. Definitely feels like a major issue with the code generator system or something. We'll get it eventually…

    Merged from Hungry Jack's Shake N Win Gift Cards Not Received

    Anyone still not received the Hungry Jack's Shake N Win gift cards?

    My brother won 4 gift cards. He received emails requesting him to provide actual address. He emailed back with his address. He received nothing. Not e-gift card, not physical gift card. He sent emails to follow up. Still no gift cards.

    Any advice?

      The gift cards were all e-mailed across with the codes as far as I know. No physical cards or address required for the smaller JB HiFi etc ones unless he won something big maybe?

      Some of us had an issue with the e-mails coming through with no code, forwarded to them on [email protected] and got another e-mail with code couple days later. Maybe contact that address.

    I won eftpos gift cards across 3 email addresses (and physical addresses).

    One set arrived a couple of weeks ago.

    One set yesterday.

    One still yet to come.

    Zero communication from them despite repeated attempts. Worst marketing agency ever. Make no mistake, the blame lies with "TLC Worldwide" - and I guess HJs themselves for not getting more pissed at them for handling the promo so poorly.

    Has anyone been able to use their EFTPOS card? I have registered it as directed and neither Coles or Woolworths will accept it … it keeps coming as declined contact issuer. Yes I have contacted the issuer but not received a reply … scam still?
