    Honestly, I had an 11 inch iPad Pro and theyre pretty much useless due to the poor iPadOS software not being able to fully utilise the power of the M1 chip.

    I'd honestly recommend either a laptop, or a much cheaper iPad. Unless you're using it specifically to browse reddit/ozb and watch movies, and other small stuff.

      a macbook? what am i gonna do with a permanently attached keyboard that i don’t want to use when i am tying in bed like i am doing right now? can i fold it behind the screen?
      big screen has its perks when streaming while on the run.
      i use all those apps you mentioned. wahaha.

        that's why I said unless you're using it for streaming, or those apps. alot of people buy the ipad and think they can slap a keyboard on it and it's now a laptop, which isn't the case

          I have been using iPads for about 10 years now. I have never attached a keyboard, and if I had a need, I would just get a laptop.

          That said, the iPad is far and away the best tablet, and depending on what you want to use it for, superior to laptops for far more than just streaming. In my work, we use them for disaster response, where they have replaced trimbles. You would not want to carry a laptop about in the field. In Queensland, the police also use ipads for similar purposes.
          Builders are another industry where they are highly suited, and I am sure there are many others where portability and capability are important.

          I agree that Apple really needs to do a few things wrt ipadOS, such as proper hierarchical file management and better integration with MS server. iPad apps, however, are superior to those of any other tablet.

      it's great for taking notes and happy to have with me on my trips to work sites or client meetings, but yeah for any serious officework..its seriously lacking.

      spent so much on it though (approx $1500 with the official magic keyboard) that i am just stubbornly going to try and make it work lmao

          At that price diff the M1 is an absolute no brainer compared with an M2. The performance diff is probably not noticeable in the real world.

          they have added into their pice match policy to exclude clearance items, when it’s below cost they use this reason to deny. officeworks supplier must have given some special deal or they’ve just decided that clearing the warehouse space is worth the loss.

        I meant after the 6th gen but it's okay, a quick google says that the M2 chip and a feature that allows the apple pencil to work without touching the screen are basically the only features they added, apparently, it was a tiny upgrade and you wouldn't notice it if your a light user and not a creator or anything like that.

    Gee whiz the last IPAD I bought was an AIr 3 Cellular + Wifi 256gb

    It cost me $600 outright brand new.

    Now a 6th Gen Air 256gb Cellular + Wifi is about $1400!!

    Have just ordered one of the few remaining 512gb 12.9" Pro Cellular + Wifi. The 1tb and 2tb models were better deals but are sold out. Will be interesting to see if I love or hate the extra 2"
