I am not even outside NSW. But mine can blame on my changing payment method to BPAY. Anyway people doing the chat can only go by what the system recorded. They dont know what is happening. I think it is highly likely there are issues with stock allocation. The technical issue is over-selling, and the resolution is to find ways to mitigate where stock is not avail.

    • Amaysim:
Actually on this stage there is no yet confirmed timeframe. We understand that most of all are looking forward to get their ordered devices, but on this moment due to high volume of orders there'll be some current delay but our backend is currently working on it. Keep an eye on your inbox to be able to track the order once it's shipped out.

      Me:
When does the 90 day timeframe start for the SIM?

      Amaysim:
Plan will start once you received and downloaded the eSIM.

      Me:
Ok, so I have received the email for the eSim but haven't activated it

      Amaysim:
Yep it means plan will not run yet

      Me:
How long do I have to activate the eSim?

      Amaysim:
We recommend activating it right away when you received it.

      Me:
But I don't have a phone to put it in
Can I activate it in 30 days?

      Amaysim:
What I mean is when you received it's device.
You can activate it on 30 days but keep in mind not to download it's eSIM yet so that plan will not run.

    • That’s a bad news actually.

      • I wonder if you activate the eSim but don't receive a phone, would they just refund the phone component?

256GB blue was one the last ones left in stock and some ordered it until late night. Wouldn't surprise me if shipping details are not received until tomorrow. If they are processing the orders by time received, then we've only seen comments on order which were completed by 4PM on the day of the deal.
Anyone received order which were placed later than 4pm?

    • Hopefully still in stock. Ordered 6:30PM

  • White 64GB Melbourne, order placed at 1:58pm still no updates

    • Green 128gb also Melbourne and ordered around the same time and still nothing either

      • +1

I think the colour green might be the issue
        128 green and no updates.

        • Yeh I've noticed a few people comment that they ordered the green and gotten nothing yet, but don't recall anyone saying they ordered green and have it sent. Anyone?

          • +2

@Popid: yes me ordered 128gb green 4pm and its coming today :)

            • @neosin: Ah k thanks for replying, hope you enjoy it. Who knows what order they're using then!

              • +1

@Popid: sorry my bad only my 128gb white got delivered
i got 2 messages and assumed both my white and green was coming today

i just got my white no green :/

    • Red 128GB ordered yesterday 7:28am .. no news yet.

      • My families red didn’t having tracking. White got delivered. I think we’re seeing a pattern. White went out. Red waiting in line. All 128gb

    • Tracking came through on app at 3:11

  • +1

Anybody ordered green 64 and received? Ordered twice at 3pm and 10pm. Nothing yet.

    • +1

Would also be interested to know if anybody who has ordered any green has had theirs sent

      • I think the ones still on this thread are like us who have not received anything. Those who received have no interest on the thread anymore.

  • ordered purple 64 on 7/2 at 2:15 pm and no updates. anyone in sydney order a purple and got any updates?

    • nah none on the purple but blue one purchased by a friend has been delivered

  • +1

Having issues with activating eSIM (I haven't received the phone yet).

Support tried to replace the eSIM twice and both times it says "unable to activate eSIM". So now I have no phone service :/

    • Why would u want to do that? U will keep the plan regardless of whether there is a phone?

      • I'm on prepaid and my current plan expires today and I need service.

  • My tracking number isn’t showing yet or is incorrect?
    Anyone had this?

  • Delivered for me today, ordered 128GB white at 9PM. Pretty quick.

    • +1

Hey, have you tried turning it on? I’m having trouble with mine. Seems like it’s a super old stock and the battery has been discharged completely. Hope it turns on after an hour. If not to the Apple Store

      • Yeah generally best to charge before using or have it plugged in. Most seem to have iOS 14.6 out of box so I'd say defs older stock

        • Yep checked the box, 2020 stuff

      • Nope haven't unboxed it yet. Planning to use this as a emergency phone if I brick my Samsung trying to root it. Otherwise I will sell it.

      • Hope the battery capacity is still 100%. Please keep updating.

        • +1

Battery should still be 100%. Phone still has not turned yet tho. Will update

        • Yeah battery will still be 100% but any issues will have two years warranty from apple under consumer law

  • just got my white 128gb ordered 4pm

ordered same time with green 128gb but only white delivered so it seems they are doing by colours lol!

    • Just got my auspost notification, shipping info received by auspost at 3:11pm

  • I got my partner's delivered today white 128GB but the courier didn't give it to me instead gave me a note for my partner to collect from Post office. Pretty religious hey ! Even though I had invoice and partner's ID to show :).

I'm not mad at all, it's just going to be a hassle getting it from post office during working hours.

    • +2

He takes responsibility for both sender and recipient.

      • Yeah. But I got my pixel delivered last week from Google store by Startrack and no ID check, just a quick name check and signatures.

        • Yea, when the sender requires an ID-check feature, they actually paid more. Telstra does ID check as well. There will be a sticker "Must be person-to-person" or something on your parcel label if you notice.

  • the white 128gb ordered like 10 pm arrived today QLD GC wow that's fast

my other blue 256gb ordered 4pm still not posted yet…..

  • Looks like I got a tracking number in my AusPost account starting with MQNZ, but no email yet.

    • +1

the email comes a few hours later

  • Ordered Green 128GB at 2:54Pm on the day, no tracking email so far.

    • Same phone and similar time.

Still no auspost tracking or emails.

      • I’m seeing a pattern. White 128 all delivered or went out fast. Red and colours not fast out the gate. I am not worried just think white was fulfilled faster.

  • Everyone got iOS 14.6? iOS 14.5.1 can be jailbroken!!!

    • Wait 6 months. The EU will have it jailbroken by law!

  • Looks like I’m headed to the Apple Store with the phone folks. Got mine today, plugged it in for a couple hours with different adaptor plug combinations including my Mac but it still has not powered on. Contacted Apple support, no help. Genius Bar it is.

    • How to fix it? Free battery replacement?

      • Phone should be able to turn on with a dead battery if plugged in generally. Could be a simple battery replacement but could possibly be more. They may just replace with a refurbished one if it's bad especially new out of box.

        • If no stock for refurbished iphone 12 mini, then will apple give new iphone 13 mini?

    • They’ll give you a new one if it’s dead. Apple has always been the same way. Sometimes they’ll even bump you up a model.

I doubt they’ll have iPhone 12 mini refurbs in stock though. Might have to get it in.

      • Possibly replace with a new iphone 13 mini?

        • It’s definitely possible. Have had it happen before where a 6s was replaced with a 7, old MacBook replaced with a newer one etc

It comes down to “is this even worth us replacing it and how long will it take or is it better to up them to an in store refurb right now”

          • @checkingthisout: did you have to have apple care in order to get the upgrade?

            • +3

@tdw: Nope! Australian laws are quite strong. But just be nice. Say you need it for your work or can’t live without it and they usually will try their best to get you back into something.

Remember Apple will just refurb and sell your phone anyway.

              • +2

@checkingthisout: thanks for the info! guess i should hold off on buying cases/screen protectors just in case ;)

                • @tdw: Better getting a dead on arrival 12 mini, and let apple give you 13 mini.

      • +1

Got my appointment at 5:20 today. Will update

        • +1

Best of luck with it all

        • +2

Fingers crossed for upgrading to new iphone 13 mini!

    • +2

      UPDATE

Apple ran a diagnostics and indeed my device is faulty. They suspect a logic board failure and have to send it off to their service centre to repair. No replacements or upgrade to 13 mini unfortunately.

Also interestingly, when they ran the test it showed that the device was purchased on the 18th of November 2022.

      • Not to worry. Wait as they always do this. They used to do it in store. But your device is old now 2020 nov.

You’ll have two outcomes. New 12 mini or bumped up to current mini.

Apple don’t repair bugger all. They refurb it. Maybe it’s a simple repair. But the logic board. No way hosay that they will “repair” that.

        🤞🤞🤞🤞

        • Fingers crossed! Hoping for a replacement.

        • They dont replace anymore

They will just replace battery or repair the fault

The days of device replacements under warranty are long gone

          • @easternculture: Dead on arrival iphone gets repaired?
            No upgrade to 13 mini?

            • @rqz: Repair , DOA by law is replacement by retailer which is amaysim.

If you tried amaysim, you possibly would have been upgraded to iphone 12 due to no stock of mini

              • @easternculture: You’re able to take devices directly to the manufacturer if they have a store. It’s very clearly in the ACCC guidelines.

Apple has a store. Is the manufacturer. You can take it to them.

                • @checkingthisout: I mean apple are not obligated to replace under DOA. Amaysim would be

                  • +5

@easternculture: “Sending consumers to the manufacturer

Under the ACL, consumers can claim a remedy from:

                    • the supplier, if products do not meet the consumer guarantees as to:
o fitness for any disclosed purpose
o matching sample or demonstration model
                    o title
                    o undisturbed possession, or
                    o undisclosed securities
                    • the manufacturer, if products do not meet the consumer guarantees as to repairs and spare parts
                    • the manufacturer and the supplier, if products do not meet the consumer guarantees as to acceptable quality, express warranties and matching description.
You cannot avoid your legal responsibilities by referring a consumer to the manufacturer; and consumers retain the right to deal with you if they prefer.

You may be in breach of the law if you:

                    • tell consumers there is no problem when you know that there is
                    • tell consumers that their only form of recourse is under the manufacturer's warranty or directly with the manufacturer.
You should provide assistance to resolve a consumer's complaint where the consumer requests such assistance.

                    Example:

A consumer bought an mp3 player from an online retailer for $180. On the first use, she discovered it was faulty.

The consumer lodged a complaint via the retailer's website, but they told her only the manufacturer could deal with her problem. She then looked up the manufacturer's website, which stated that they did not deal directly with consumer complaints and any faulty products should be returned to the place of purchase.

The consumer made a copy of this statement and sent it to the retailer, which finally agreed to replace the product.

In this case, neither the retailer nor the manufacturer should have refused to handle the consumer's complaint. The consumer was entitled to approach either of them for a remedy when a product did not meet the consumer guarantee of acceptable quality.

Know your rights. It’s a major fault. OP has the right to goto Apple or amaysim. Whichever is easier. The more you know your rights. The more likely you’ll get a 13 mini or something else if a iPhone 12 mini can’t be given in a suitable timeline. Also part of the code.

                      @checkingthisout:

Under the ACL, consumers can claim a remedy

Remedy from Amaysim : replacement like for like or better model due to DOA

Remedy from Apple: Repair. They are not obligated to replace the device

                      • @easternculture: As the manufacturer selling direct to consumer in australia they are. And you can.

I’ve had vacuums replaced direct by the manufacturer bypassing Harvey Norman.

I did it last week with a Shark. They requested a video, cut the cord and sent a new one within 3 days. I didn’t even bother to ask HN.

Should brush up on your rights. Or the ACCC law. Either one.

Side note. If you buy an iPhone in the UK on holiday the warranty under the ACL moves to Australia as Apple sells direct to consumer here. Your 1 year limited warranty becomes 2-3 depending it’s cost and reasonable span of lifetime.

I’ve had a MacBook I got in Hong Kong at Sunning replaced in Australia. By Apple.

                        • @checkingthisout: Dont know why you keep arguing

                          Ill rephrase.

Apple by law are not required to replace the device. They can if they want to, but if they choose to repair it, its within the consumer law

                          • @easternculture: I posted the ACCC guidelines. Major faults aren’t up to the manufacturer or supplier to decide. The consumer decides. They can offer a repair and you can refuse. If you asked the ACCC to step in. They’d request what the customer wanted. Been there. Done that.

                            DOA is major.

You should stop doubling down and read the ACCC pdf I supplied.

                  • +1

@easternculture: Apple are obligated to if the customer so wishes. The customer has the choice to approach the seller or the manufacturer.

        • @easternculture

          @checkingthisout

Both of you present valid arguments. It is unclear as to who is correct.

          • @rqz: It will be up to the manufacturer to choose the remedy, but the final choice is yours, knowing your rights under the ACCC will help get what you want. But as a major fault you’re entitled to at least a brand new replacement. As Apple refurbished phones are considered brand new with the same warranties by law and by Apple a refurbished iPhone 12 mini will suffice at a minimum. A 13 mini at a maximum. Or a brand new 12 mini if they have stock.

Apple cannot sell you a fixed iPhone or repair at their choice.

The choice is actually yours as the consumer. It’s a major fault. Not a minor fault.

Considering my text above came from the ACCC website. I’d consider mine correct 😆

            • +1

              @checkingthisout: Agree with @checkingthisout

If the iPhone is DOA, then request a 'new' replacement NOT a refurbished iPhone

      • Congrats on getting the 13 mini using only $400.

        • I’ll either thank you or curse you for jinxing it when Apple returns it

          • +1

@chankaran: my experience with apple has mostly been positive/brilliant. im sure they will find an amicable solution.

            • @Ragnarok1982: That has been the case for me as well. My past replacements either happened on the spot or after servicing at the store itself. First time they are sending it off to somewhere else.

              • @chankaran: That’s just because it’s a 2020 phone, they wouldn’t bother holding stock in store anymore. By “send off”. I think they mean. “We sent your phone to be refurbished in China and we are waiting for a replacement back from AU stock”

Of course they never tell you 😏

But let’s wait to see. In any case you’ll get a “new” iPhone 12 mini.

                • @checkingthisout: Makes sense but diagnostics quoted $537 for the repair which is of course covered under warranty

                  • +1

@chankaran: Lol yeah screw apples quoted cost. Remember they’re a business if they can screw you they will. But usually Apple will not be as bad as say Dyson. Who are truly dogsh*t.

Looks like no much shipments today. Not many ppl say their orders got shipped from this morning

  • Blue and White colours were shipped yesterday. Red or Purple or both are being shipped today

    • You mean 128 or 256?

No update for me on 256gb blue so far, anxiously waiting….

      • No update for both my white 256 and blue 256
