Can we buy this phone using Jbhifi gift cards ?

    • +14

Absolutely make sure you stock up before you buy online

    • +4

JB gift cards through Telstra? That's a first !

      • +3

If telstra dont accept jbhifi gift cards. Im going to want to speak to the manager.

        /karen.

    • Not sure if this is legit question or what…

      • It’s what…

      • +1

I think they meant price matching by JB hi-fi and paying by giftcards?

        • Your logic and rational don't belong here. Get out.

          /s

  • Im looking to upgrade an aging LG V30+

Thinking the 14 plus might be a worthy upgrade? Seems to be similar size to the LG V30+. Anyone who's used both did they feel simialr in size?

    • +4

Plus has 6.7” screen vs 6.1”, though the V30 is 16:9

Totally different operating system obviously, V30 is notable for its Quad DAC if music is important then maybe confirm iOS meets your needs, no; expandable memory, 3.5mm, higher rate Bluetooth codecs

      • Yeh a lot of the features of the LG were good but its an old phone now with no android updates.

Ive also got an iPad so think I'll stick with iOS for ease of compatibility and future updates. I know setting up my new iPad when my old one was lost was a breeze with all my apps and data transferred over.

Anyone have any experience with the 14 plus? Did they find it too big?

        • Also consider the 13 Pro Max, has more cameras, 120hz pro motion, steel frame (heavy) and same processor as 14 plus

          • @revmacca: I would be keen on 13 pro max but can't see anywhere with stock. Have you seen anywhere reliable to purchase?

            • @Hamish125: Plenty on the second-hand market. Green gadget, reebelo, ozmobile, phonebot, just to name a few. The 13 pro and 13 pro max are much better buy than 14 and 14 plus.

    Cheaper than the S23. Nice

  • what is the cheapest way to get a Telstra ID? TIA.

    • +1

      Prepaid SIM?

    • +3

      Cheapest prepaid kit.

      Edit: beaten by 43 seconds.

  • Does officeworks normally price beat these Telstra deals? Ive been on hold with them for 15 mins so far to check… I'll hang up if it's a waste of time!

    • No luck on a price beat through the call centre. Maybe in store you might get lucky

    • I successfully did that for Pixel 7 deal at OW Sydney CBD store. Just show them by simply adding it to your cart.

      • Im away in the middle of nowhere for work unfortunately. Nearest OW is about 1000KM away! I'll give it a go in a week or so when I can visit a store.

Did you just go in store and show it in the cart on the Telstra website? I got the spiel on the phone that since it was mentions that ita only available with an existing Telstra ID/service it's not eligible for price match.

        • +1

I just showed them that I don’t have any Telstra service and simply logged into my Telstra account, selected the Pixel 7, chose outright and added to cart.

  • +1

No price match with Officeworks as you need a Telstra service

    • Depends on the officeworks norlunga walked into got it for 1357.55 they checked website to confirm stock and price

      • @stealth007 iphone 14 256gb? for that price? what did you tell them? share some details please

        • @aarkay it was the 128GB starlight iphone 14 plus. I simply went into the store asked which colors they had in stock - wanted a white one for the mrs they went out back got it and I said can you please price match telstra she went to the pc at the pos looked it up on their site and then with the 5% price beat worked out to 1357.55. Admittedly i truly didnt know at the time that you had to be a telstra customer etc already or anything they just cared about the outright price and if it was in stock.

          • +1

@stealth007: Awesome, and thanks for this. I did the same for iphone 14 256gb, and got it at the same price :D

  • Does boost mobile prepaid work?

    • yes, works with boost mobile too. Just use it to create your Telstra ID

      • If youve created a Boost ID, it will work in any of the telstra ID login pages. It will work in the 24/7 app too, but it only lets you update profile details, change email/contact/mobile address etc.. I ran through the shopping cart and it let me get right up to paying / providing CC details.

  • shit, stuck with the ultimate gift card

    • If your gift card is 15% off…

  • Seems this has forced the price down by $100 at the other common retailers (JB,TGG,Amazon), could be good for those with discounted GCs

  • any deals on the 14 pro?

  • +1

Waiting for next generation of iPhone with USB C.

  • Is the pro worth 500 dollars more? Travelling overseas next month so might be able to get GST back

    • I do not like taking photos, so the only seiling point is the ProMotion Technology.

  • no lightning to 3.5mm adapter in the box? can anyone confirm?

    • +1

They stopped doing that a while back. Even before they took the charger off the box.

      • i bought the i12 last year from officeworks, it has lightning to 3.5mm adapter , it must be old stock.

  • OW priced matched and beat it by 5% getting it to 1185.55

    • Can OW match telstra? Because teltra id is needed.

      • They been known to buts its always ymmv.

  • I took my chances with OW at Prahran market(Melbourne) and they took a while but did it

    • Would you be able to pm me a pic of your receipt?

  • Any luck Price Matching at TGG as I can $100 gift card

  • +2

I was able to price match at officeworks mulgrave - happy to provide people a receipt if they need.

    • +1

Hey there! Are you able to please share your receipt with me?
      Thanks!

      • Hey mate,
I can't pm you as you 'aren't accepting replies'

  • +1

My local officeworks refused to price match :'(

    • If you haven''t bought anything yet bl00pb0b….

Check out the Coles / Apple eGift card %15 off at the moment. I got 3 gift cards for 1300 value (had a family member pick up the balance of a third card as there is a stated limit of $1000 per order.)

so the $1300 value costs $1105. Then call up Apple 133-MAC and 'Id like to order an iphone' and you'll get put through to a CSR. Say would apple please match their authorised apple reseller officeworks deal of $1297. They'll do it, run through details and want a CC. say you'd like to use a gift card (or two :P). Free delivery or pick up from store, your choice.

I just did this and am quite happy as Officeworks didnt want to match Telstra's deal.
