You've answered your own question. Professionals will buy this. It is an excellent camera and not aimed at everyday anyway. Certainly not a piece of shit, it's the best in its class.

Uhhh they're chunky because people want them to be chunky. It's purely for ergonomics, it's basically got 2 grips for vertical/horizontal shooting.
You think people using these are putting pancake lenses on them? Do you know how chunky a 24-70 or 70-200 is?
Thin mirrorless cameras still exist, just not what people want for a flagship camera.
The cameras in this class (more expensive bodies with bigger/more ergonomic bodies) have come to replace the professional DSLR, not to play as an alternative. Part of the expectations for these cameras is that they will have vertical grips and larger battery capacities, hence the bigger sizes. If you want something in this class that you can still size down you can get an A1 that has an optional grip.

if you are referring to the pentax 645z that thing is a dinosaur and hopelessly out of date compared to something like this.
There are only a couple of scenarios where the 645z would be better, and in the other 99% of cases the nikon would spank it silly regardless of difference in sensor sizes
@gavincato: Jesus I didn't even realise the 645z is almost 10 years old. Whilst still a highly capable stills camera, yeah it's definitely lacking in features compared to the Z9. Autofocus and video being major limitations notorious in Pentax cameras.

I'd be pretty concerned about actually undergoing their repair processes too. Here's a past complaint about Bexectech:
Until September 2017, BecexTech, Techrific and CatchDeal advertised electronic goods such as mobile phones and tablet computers as 'new', when they were in fact refurbished.
Over the last year, the ACCC received 96 complaints about BecexTech, 34 complaints about Techrific and 60 complaints about CatchDeal.
BecexTech also admitted to misleading consumers about their rights by falsely claiming they were not bound by the Australian Consumer Law as they were incorporated overseas.
Examples of consumer complaints:
One consumer spent $608.95 on an Apple iPhone 6 from BecexTech, believing that the product was new. After the iPhone failed within three days, the consumer took the phone to an Apple store only to be told that that same phone had previously been purchased two years prior in the United States.

You can expect them to do the the bare minimum and cut all sorts of corners if you run into issues.
@eecan: 2 years for local Nikon. You must be thinking about Canon, it’s the only brand doing 5 years. But I agree with you for sophisticated expensive devices like cameras, it’s better to pay a bit more for local warranty.

Also i looked a bit more at the ACCC/Bexectech case and there some pretty dodgy stuff in relation to support. This PDF notes that there were several instances where Bexectech refused to adhere to ACL, falsely claimed that the ACL did not apply, refused to provide refunds for major faults, provided partial refunds for major failures based on 'market price' instead of the price originally paid and withheld portions of refunds for faulty products from customers based on superficial damage unrelated to the failure.

Well said. Most guys need to find validation in buying new toys, hence why they go into further credit card debt to make themselves appear to be real men or real photographers, but despite that, you can still get fantastic images from a $500 camera.
