Better off getting a m.2 drive

    • +12

      Not all laptop/motherboard has a m.2 slot.

    • +2

      I've already used my 2 m.2 slots.

  • Good ssd for ps4?

    • +1

I'm using the 2tb version and it works well in my PS4 Pro. I believe you'll see smaller gains in a non-Pro console.

    • Yes. Much better than the BX500.

Definitely go for at least 1tb.

  • Great drive, but I am not sure I would call this a bargain price considering how much NAND prices have obviously fallen due to less demand from lower smart phone sales.

    • Maybe people are starting to realise there is no point upgrading your phone every 1 or 2 years as there isn't much change in features. I still have my S10+ (4 years now) and still don't feel the need for an upgrade, camera is good, storage is fine for me, screen is great, speed is great. Not once in four years have I felt any desire to upgrade. Maybe when they invent the next major in your face feature then everyone will want to upgrade but until then HODL!

      • The main reason I upgraded my handset recently was due to the lack of recent (more than a year) security updates. My upgrade was to a $400 handset.

memory prices have tumbled over 50%, so this isnt a good price in AU$. Should be <$70

    • +1

Yeah I don't know much about the market or memory prices, but the 1TB was previously $85 shipped on Amazon AU so I expected a lower price than that.

I think a good price would be around $80 shipped from Amazon AU. Going by your should be price, maybe $70 + 10% tax, so around $77 Shipped.

Would I be better of getting one of these or another m.2. that will only run in PCIE 3x2 as my second drive? my b450 mobo limits the second m.2. slot to PCIE3x2

    • You will probably not see a difference except in synthetic tests but to answer your question an m.2 even at PCIE 3x2 would still be faster than SATA.

  • Great deal!

  • Any experience using other sellers on Amazon?
Some selling for $89 on the same link.
