The whole morning this morning so far, on different devices.

    • Same for my debit card too

    • Same. I have previously claimed a similar deal on my 28 Degrees card about 2 years ago. Not sure if it's the reason for the error.

    • And support sucks!!! They answer quickly, but hang up either before you speak or when they ask you what's wrong. 🤦🏽‍♂️

    • Yup, same error with me… just tried it now, which is 16 hours after you tried it! 🙁

  • -2

I think it's really limited to 1 per Amazon account.

So if you have more than 1 qualifying MC, but only 1 Amazon account, then you cannot take advantage of additional MC cards unless you apply it to a different Amazon account, but that probably has to be in your name as well? Not sure, haven't tried, and kinda cannot be bothered since I have gift card balance and Prime is active.

If my prime had expired, then that might be a different scenario to explore and experiment with…

    • got $15 credit on my wife's account but used my debit MC

  • You just gave me $15. Solid, thanks OP. Total legend.

  • Done. Thanks. Had to use my debit Mastercard as my standard CC didn't work.

Thanks very much Junk Sifter 🙏

    • Same problem for me. :(

  • I got errors on both diamond awards and plat debit. I ended up getting an activation email a few minutes later which gave the $15.

  • Thanks free $15. Cheers

  • Thanks OP free credit

  • +2

easy ass. got my $15 in just 2 minutes. Thanks.

    • +2

Don't give your ass away that easily. Especially not for $15.

    @Junk Sifter

bog standard CBA debit card that comes with a savings account!

By "Bog standard" do you actually mean Mastercard Debit?

And by "Savings" do you actually mean Transaction (eg Streamline)?

I have a genuine CBA "bog standard, transaction account debit card" which absolutely does not qualify. It is still called a Debit Card though.

I also have a CBA Savings account, which has no card at all.

    • +1

It is a mastercard promo so yes debit mastercard. Mine was just the standard issue debit mastercard that came with a streamline basic account and it worked. I think OP meant it didnt have to be a premium mastercard credit/debit card as has been the case in previous promos (which I wasnt eligible for)

    • +1

I have clarified in the post. Thanks.

      • Sorry! I'm just frustrated with CBA. So many accounts and nothing qualifies for this (every time).

I have the low-fee gold Mastercard, which isn't eligible / always fails

        • No worries, I wasn't aware of the difference between the types of cards/accounts.

Afaik it's free to change an EFTPOS card (not sure this is the same as your card) to the debit MasterCard which works with this offer.

          • @Junk Sifter: Yeah, mine is the eftpos card, with just Cirrus on the back. Might look into changing it, thanks for the info

  • Awesome. $15 for me.
    Thanks!

  • Thanks OP. Got 3 months free Prime

  • wow first time ever eligible for these thanks

Hi Guys, I activated the offer through my CBA debit card and received the 15$ gift card since I already have Amazon Prime but my CBA debit card was charged with $1.44 for redeeming this benefit - charged as Mastercard benefit +14153764640 Ca, 0205 on Entertainment….No such charges are mentioned in the deal. Anyone else experience this?

    • Could it just be a pre-auth for USD$1 just to ensure the card works?

      • I think so too!

    • I'm guessing it will disappear in a few days.

  • I am on prime already and when i availed the offer and it said since i am already a prime member i get $15 but after few seconds i am charged $59 for prime membership. What a joke. Anyone in similar situation? Any help?

    • Lol

    • Any help

Amazon's chat is quite an outstanding customer experience, so you should just ask them directly and ask to cancel that membership, which they're going to do for you without any issue. Unless the issue is you actually need it and had to pay for it to renew…

  • Currently still using free Prime given by Citibank, and its ending in 2 weeks. Wondering if I can wait until that and extend my membership for another 3 months.

  • thanks OP

Where did OP even find this deal? I never get notification of these lol, I only see the CBA ones under Rewards.

    • I confirmed with Mastercard this is a legit promo from them. It was originally in the Commbank phone app.

  • +1

    Something went wrong
Your card has been declined for an unknown reason.

  • +1

Is this per CBA customer, per Amazon account, or per credit/debit card?

  • Not working..

  • Not working, same "unknown reason" error

  • Getting the same error with both debit and credit card, should be eligible. Will try again later or contact them

  • +1

For those running into the "something went wrong" error, make sure that the email entered is the one that matches your Netbank one. You will be asked separately afterwards to log into Amazon account.

    • Still the same error

    • +1

I entered an email that was not the same as on netbank and it was fine. I use a different email for Amazon and thats the one i used.

  • 15 bucks better than nothing. Cheers.

  • Nice work

    Thanks for sharing @Junk Sifter

  • "If you have an online transactions lock on your card, you will need to remove this before checking your eligibility."

What does this mean? Is it easy to do yourself?

Getting same error as others - "Something went wrong Your card has been declined for an unknown reason."

    • That’s what I got on the iPad, tried on a Samsung phone and it worked fine . No idea why.

  • If you have done a free Amazon trial in the past without the bankcard will this trial work?

    • I had to use a different email address but it worked with the same Amazon account

    • Working on me

  • Says card declined on an iPad, tried on a Samsung phone and it worked fine.

Not sure if anyone else having same issue as me but i was having issues redeeming offer using my desktop browser chrome (something went wrong error ). I called the helpline and they told me to wait for email but never received one..

      Thanks OP.

    • Thanks for the comment mate!

I was having issue with desktop chrome as well, but switching to mobile solved the problem.

    • Thanks OP. Was having the same something went wrong error but worked on mobile

      • Just voice in sty. I tried on my android mobile and it didn’t work at all for me. Never tried the desktop so I don’t know. It did work on my iPad eventually.

    • Yea doesn't work for me :c

      • Agreed. Still getting the error after moving from desktop Chrome to ioS Safari (iPhone). Will try a few things…

  • Got $15 credit. Thanks op 😀

  • OP you legend, got $15 :)

  • AWESOME WORKED!! i was confused coz the link sent to your email prompts you to sign up even though I provided an email with an existing amazon account - but you just press 'sign in' in the small font below and all was GEEEEEEE. After you need to put in your card details again

  • Wouldn't give me the $15 free for an existing account, got 3 months prime on my existing account…

  • Yayyyy chicken dinner

  • Does anyone know, if you get the 3 months and you cancel, will it schedule to cancel in 3 months or end immediately like some trials?

    • +1

You keep the benefits until the end of 3 month period even if you cancel now

  • keeps erring and says contact us via below links

  • Thanks, OP.
    Got a $15 credit.

  • Thanks OP! Since I already have an annual sub, it gave me instead a $15 gift card so win win anyway.

A lot of people have asked what happens if you have multiple CBA cards but no one has answered.

I have 5 CBA Mastercards and 3 Amazon accounts.

I activated the first card fine and got $15 credit on the first Amazon account which has Prime.

When I tried to activate the 2nd card using the same email address I got an error. When I changed the email address I got a different error, but then shortly thereafter an email arrived in the 2nd email address inbox saying to activate the offer on Amazon.

I tried activating the offer on my first Amazon account and it failed. It activated fine on my second Amazon account.

So my advice if you have multiple CBA Mastercards:
    - activate each one with a different email address
    - apply the offer to different Amazon accounts

When they say 1 offer per customer they really mean:
    - 1 activation the offer per email address
    - one $15 credit or free Prime trial per Amazon account
