First rule of OzBargain: Wait until at least profitable cashback to buy Boost SIM. 50c is 50c baby!

  • Lost 50c from last deal,

  • +1

Thanks :) I cancelled my Telstra $15/month data sim because of these Boost deals.

      I quit my job.

      • +1

        😅

      • +1

To run a Facebook page? Wait no you're not her.

  • +4

Nooooo what a sucker I was to jump at the breakeven price.

  • Need another $300 deal! Missed it last time.

  • Can these cashbacks on boost be used for existing cutomers to recharge? Or always only new sims?

    • new sims only

      • thanks

  • +4
  • Just bought one as a first-time Boost offer user. I've always avoided these as Australia Post seems to have trouble delivering to my address.

Aiming to port out from Kogan by the end of the month. Will see how it goes.

    • +1

      Return to sender, address unknown
No such number, no such zone

    • Update: It went well. Sim arrived 8 days after purchase, ported out from Kogan on the weekend and Boost service was ready to use within 5 mins of activating and submitting the porting request.

  • +1

Could we please have $40 cash back on $200 SIM again?

    • +2

I’m quite relieved to see that some people are prepared to pay to use Boost, rather than be paid to use Boost

    • Yes! Mine expires tomorrow, Aldi sim in readiness.

  • How long does delivery normally take?

    • -4

      31 days

    • +3

      A few days

  • +4

Based on the deals in the past, we could get more profit if we waited another week or so?

    • +1

Probably, there are still 16 days remaining.
From previous deals I have activated a few new numbers at the same time with same ID, but not too many to get blocked

  • +3

We made it bros! Real ozbargainers know to wait. No profit no deal. 🤣
    Previous on last deal

  • Heya guys
So Ive got a current boost plan 365 days for…managed to pick it up via eBay for approx ~$250 almost 10 months ago now

My data allowance with that plan is about to exhaust… probably in the next week or so at my current usage rate. But I've still got a couple months left on the plan

Can I port my existing boost number to this boost deal for 28 days then revisit any new options that may be available?

    • +3

Use a dual Sim phone and buy this to service your data requirements for a month.

  • +3

Not sure why but I always have a nightmare of a time activating Boost and Telstra sims, no matter what I cant activate them through the usual online process…

The Boost ones I usually end up having to waste 30 mins in chat to get a pleb to activate them, and I've just spent 2.5 hours in chat to get a Telstra sim activated, UGH, and they cant tell me why, or what the issue is…

    • It's only happened in the last month's boost sim. Couldn't activate, chat did it, then sim didn't work. Chat sent me to a Telstra shop to get it replaced, Telstra shop sent me home saying they can't help me. Called Boost for a replacement. For a free service, I can't complain. Would not pay for it though and the main reason being it requires an app to manage the service, instead of a website.

So what's the cheapest way at the time to port in and out
Last time used the amaysim deal ($3) and still got one boost sim left from last months deal.
Only thing i can see atm is to get $30 voda sim of ebay for $6 and use it for a couple of weeks and transfer to boost (not the best way to utilise but boost>voda)

    • +3

I thought I'd change over to voda while waiting for another deal.. like how bad can their reception be right… boy was i wrong.
If I can sum it up, it'd be: Voda sucks many many d*cks and while its busy sucking, it forgets that it needs to provide a service to its customers.

      • Voda works fine for me so I guess it depends on your location.

      • Voda is fine when im at home
Just when travelling (weekends away etc) it can be hopeless hence atm aiming at boost when thats happening

      • Voda is the worst. I've tried them all

    • Aldi is $5 and local. Lebara goes on sale quite often at colesworth, some of them were less than $5.

    • I would love to know this as well. Haven't paid a cent in the last 12 months for phone 5G usage and it's been great!

My last Belong $80 kit is being used right now, and these have been great to jump on and off in between. Now I have no more Belong kits, not sure how to go about things.

  • Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later

  • first time considering this deal. you still get the cashback even after porting away from boost after a month right?

    • +1

      Yes

  • Anyone else having trouble activating boost sims once they arrive? I've activated around 5 for my work and have been using them but struggling to activate another.

    • +1

Try using a different device to do the online activation

      • +1

Thanks, tried on desktop rather than mobile and it worked.

  • +1

    Got one. Thanks

  • +1

Waiting for a good cashback on the boost $200 sim

  • -1

No Deal. Getting paid 50 cents for using 45GB free data is an insult. Just bring back those 60GB sims and pay us $3-$4.

  • I ordered 2 from last month's deal. What if I don't activate within 30 days? Will they cancel the cashback?

    • Yeah the cashback won't be approved.

      • Has that changed in recent times ?… I don't think I've ever activated one in the 30 day period but I've always received the cashback…

(I'd order a couple more but my orders fail now, "please try again later")

        • +1

Afaik that's always been a requirement, so I guess you've been lucky. If it was denied then you wouldn't really be able to complain.

  • On boost currently. Ported my no. from belong few days ago. It only took probably 10 mins. Complete breeze to activate and use. Will recommend

  • +1

How many Active SIMs can one ID holds before you get blocked? What about expired SIMs, does it matter how many you had before you get blocked?
    Thanks

  • I am still waiting on cashback approval from ones I bought early December - anyone had early December approvals for through yet?

    • The early December deal's approval date is around March. Not yet. You can see the est date in your reward history.

  • Anyone else missing the Withdrawal button in Cashrewards? It’s disappeared on both the app and website

    • Strange, I see it clearly on mobile. Click your balance top right…

      • There isn’t anything top right, just my rewards in the middle of the screen at top with lifetime rewards underneath

  • They still haven’t shipped my SIM, ordered on 5/02. Is this their normal service level?

    • They usually ship fairly fast but they never notify you, chances are it will arrive in the next day or so..

    • Ordered mine on 5/2, arrived today.

(No shipping notification, but wasn't expecting there to be.)
