Has both m.2 and 2.5" bays.

    • +1

      Yep

      • +2

        yes, it does have both

  • +1

    OP,

    You sure it's 3 x Display Ports?

    • there's two built in but the third port looks like it can be an optional DP, but instead has VGA installed

      • +1

Correct. So 2 x Display Ports

        • +4

The units we have does have 3rd optional diplay port. I'll ask the listing person to change the photo

  • Wifi is dongle?

    • Comes with WIFI USB dongle and charger.

  • There is an internal slot for a WAN card

  • Is 16GB variant single (1x 16GB) or dual modules (2x 8GB)? Can it be single, so I can add another 16GB, to total 32GB?

    • send us a message on chat or email with order # and we can take note

  • Would these support 2x 4k @ 60Hz monitors?

  • ordered 4, see how are they go.

    • +10

      probably via courier

  • What's the memory configuration? Does it come with 4GB + 4GB or a single 8GB stick?
In other words, will I be able to add my own 8GB to upgrade to 16 GB?

    • It mostly depends on what fulfillment team has on hand during processing, but leave a note during purchase

  • I almost pulled the trigger, then I realised that this thing doesn't have a USB-C port which is a deal breaker for me. Sigh. OptiPlex 7060 has the port.

    • yeah the elitedesk 800 g3 or g4 mini would be the go for usb-c

    • +1

Curiously why is the usb-c port a deal breaker?

Edit: Oh this doesn’t even have usb 3.1 gen 2, that’s a bit rough.

    • Thanks, I might hold off. I would've expected all 8th Gens intels to have USB-C

  • Any surface Go's coming soon?

  • +1

Seems decent. ~$35 more than the m700 tiny with the HDD. Faster processor from what I can tell (8100t vs 6400t), proper Windows 11 support and support for NVME drives.

  • 4 cores 4 threads, hrmm dunno. Should I or Should I not?

    • +2

Up to you - if you don't need now, the longer you wait, the better specs on the refurbs

    • Depends on what you intend to use it for, I've a HP EliteDesk Mini G2 (i5-6500T/HD 530/16GB/SSD) from eBay refurb, installed W11 lite and it's snappy as hell, it's connected to the TV mainly to play movies whilst doing some VSCode, gaming is largely a miss unless dealing with old titles, Shadow Tactics however runs absolutely flawlessly at 1440p.

      • Curiously does the lite version floating about immediately get all the bloatware crap back once an update is performed?

        • There's a bunch of different varients floating around, I'm running Ghost Spectre Superlite (22H2 SV2 Nov 2022 build), which has update disabled until 2077.

There is a toolbox that comes with it which allows you to update selectively but I've not tried it, It's a throwaway machine so I'm not bothered about security updates/etc anyway. If I really want to I'd just download the latest version and reinstall.

With a bit of further tweaking it's running at 97 services, ~5% CPU and 1.5GB RAM at idle, which is fantastic.

      • Yours is only dual core

        • 6500T is 4C4T like the 8100T.

          • @coxymla: oh yes sorry my bad, I was thinking about 6th gen laptop version

    • according to this site https://www.hardware-corner.net/desktop-models/HP-ProDesk-40… it has socketed cpu. You could upgrade up to Core i7 8700 6core/12 threads if found for cheap

      • +2

why bother when you could just wait a few weeks/months for a higher spec refurb?

      • +2

You’d likely need a bigger power pack. I believe the original is 65W.

        I have a G4 with a 8600 in it. Has a 90w power pack.

  • Will this work for roblox for my kid?
    Can it fit a gpu?

    Thanks

  • I've a very silly question: I'm planning to build a home-server that will run an MVP web app that I'm currently working on. Any idea is this can do the job? Or any other recommendations? Thanks.

    • Hard for us to say considering we have no idea of your app's requirements - if you're developing the app, wouldn't you know what kinda specs it needs?

  • I know it might be a silly question but i am interested to get it to watch movies on my tv using VPN and was wondering if the display port to hdmi cable will work to send audio or dolby vision etc as i cant see a hdmi port.

    • Yes. We have converter dongles at work that send through audio to hdmi cable.

  • Anyone got dispatch info yet?

    • To answer my own question, I got an email this evening saying it was on its way.

  • received mine today adn there is a faulty cpu fan, its beeps when turning on and the fan doesnt spin , checked the manual and this is the fault as diagnosed by the beeping and flashing power button, am trying to chat with them to replace but currently no one is online.

    • Spoke to online chat, after a few diagnostic checks, they are sending me a returns label and a replacement one out, happy with that the beeping was 3 red lights followed by 4 white which is a power delivery issue looking at HP

  • So to ask a question related to earlier,
Has anyone got audio over display port working?? Can't get it to find the device.
