Speedlink Competition Pro dropping to a low price, 24% off.
Checked CamelCamelCamel and not the cheapest but close to it and doesn't drop to these levels that often.

Setting up a Retropi and reliving my Amiga 500 days and this was one of the styles of choice :)
Would this work with an amiga 500 mini?
I just ordered one :)
Possibly. Does it use USB?
@BewareOfThe Dog: It does
Yes, I bought the same for double the cost last year. When I got the A500 mini I soon realised the included gamepad wasn't really well suited to playing the old Amiga games. You need a joystick!
@capnstoobie: It's it easy to add more amiga games? Still waiting on delivery of mine…
@Misha Bakunin: Very easy. I have mucked around with Amiga emulators over the years but the A500 mini has been by far the easiest. It even played an old AMOS 3D game I made a long time ago. I thought I'd never see that run again.
@capnstoobie: So does that mean we could side load any of the old Amiga games and they will all work or would there be some exceptions?
@jollster101: I tried quite a few and I don't remember any of them not working. I followed a really good guide for setting up the mini. I can't seem to find which one it was, otherwise I'd post it for you.
@capnstoobie: Thanks.
Welcome to what gaming was like pre 90's
Well i remember playing dragon spirit on the c64
I remember the Competition Pro joysticks and mashing them to win races in Daley Thompson's decathlon and the Winter & Summer games
Same as the old Atart 2600 stick, but it only had 1 button.
No idea if this is a deal or not but +1 because I was just transported back in time 40 years.
Cheaper than a De Lorean as well.
A bit Tac2-ish was my first thought, and I liked it.
I'll see your +1 and double it. Had one just like it for my C64 in the 80's.
Jokes on them, Amiga, and Commodore64 joysticks still aren't yet typically breaking.
I still have an original Atari 2600 one.
Oh that brings back memories… of river raid.
Competition Pro's were $30 to $50 in the late 80s. These are pretty cheap considering inflation. Wonder if they have the proper cherry microswitch and spring internals.
edit: One of the reviews has pics of the microswitches. Not cherry's but they are microswitches.
edit: Another review mentions the spring centering.
What is spring centering? So in your research the switches are good? Thanks
Early versions of the Competition Pro used a stiff spring to bring the joystick shaft back to center in addition to the spring in the microswitch. The latter versions used a thick rubber ring. Most people prefer the spring because it is more precise and less spongy feeling.
I think the microswitches are good. The pedants think that the microswitches are stiffer than the Cherry originals. You can always swap them out for Cherry switches if you want.
I actually broke one of the buttons on mine back in the late 80s. I guess I can consider that quite a feat!
Lol.. Old Skool.. so good.
Accessing the buttons looks super awkward?
