  • Ive noticed car wash places use compressed air. Is it for the sand in the nappy carpet?

    • Dry / Repel water off of cars as hardwater causes water spots when dried.

Can also be used to move around dust in hard to reach / small areas.

  • Would this be overkill for a airbrush? It's cheaper than any other compressor + tank combo designed for airbrush use so it has got me interested.

    • No, it's fine and you at least can use if for other tasks.

You only need 10-30psi for airbrushing and this one seems to have a regulator. I did not see a moisture trap on this compressor though and this one uses oil which may contaminate your airbursh and also needs a top up.

You'll need to buy your own hose.

      • Thanks, I've got all the gear I need, it's just my compressor that is letting me down I think. It doesn't have a tank. I've bought a inline moisture trap to catch water that builds up in the line but having a compressor + tank seems more ideal. Won't have to keep remembering to empty the moisture trap because there won't be moisture in there in the first place.

Thinking maybe the ozito airbrush kit might be the go. Just use the compressor + tank from that. Pity it's more expensive for a lower spec'd machine, but like you said you don't actually need that pressure for airbrushing.

    • The blurb says "Air Brushing"

Don't forget these things are noisy, it's not something you can run at night.

Note, this is oil lubricated - if your application needs very pure air, this will not do it.
I went with the oil-free Ozito one (6l tank and a bit more expensive), super happy with it. 36 months replacement warranty from Bunnings is impossible to beat.

  • I would pay $18 more and get the 21L tank. Having only 8L would drive you crazy.

I have a large compressor that stays in garage, bought one of these smaller ones for pumping up tyres, blow away dust etc as it's 30M from garage to front of house and don't have a hose that long …..and the small compressor is easy to carry and move …

Has anyone ever used this for work on the AC system of a car?

    • Even if you could, how would you get access to the gas required?

    • What?! … it's not a vacuum pump!

You should stay away from anything HVAC!

    • Right, I wrongly assumed this can be used as a vacuum pump as well.

  • If yas want something value for money, something serviceable and will give you performance and service life a tradesman would be happy with
