tempting, but I couldn't live with the gamer typeface

What do you mean gamer typeface

      • +1

Overall gamer-y aesthetic, legends on keycaps

        • +1

          that's right

        • +1

Right, like the font used for each key? I didn't realise that was gamer font.

  • Have this keyboard since 2018, really good one!

I had a Corsair K65 Lux which I replaced with a Nuphy Air75 recently. The K65 started having lots of problems with flickering LED's, the colors would be incorrect in about 10% of the keys, then it started not registering clicks. I wouldn't recommend their keyboards because of these issues. Plenty of other users experience similar problems but of course, YMMV

    • How long did you have your Corsair board for?

      • +1

Mmmm can't recall exactly. It was probably between 2-4 years? I kept it covered when not in use and cleaned it semi-regularly. It didn't feel like it should have failed and my previous keyboards lasted longer

    • Would you be able to do a quick review of the Air75?
I’m considering my first mech board and trying to decide between this, Keychron’s offerings and Logi’s mech mini board.

Sure. It's excellent! I dig the low-profile keys. I got the Gateron Reds which feel pretty similar to the Cherry Reds from the Corsair boards. It's got a nice gentle "thock" about it too. The Nuphy software is pretty… basic. But really, once you set the color scheme you want, you might never touch it again anyway. I use the switches on the keyboard to switch between 2.4ghz to my gaming PC and bluetooth to my work laptop, which works a treat. Overall it's just a really well-considered package and it just feels "special" in a way that most mass-market gaming keyboards don't. It's definitely my favorite keyboard that I've owned (amongst Corsair K65 Lux, a couple of Razer mechs, etc).

The reason I chose this board for gaming + productivity (I was also looking at Keychron's and Logi's too), was that the 2.4ghz wireless performance is quite good for gaming (much better than Keychron's) while being less expensive and more visually appealing than Logitech's (IMO).

There's a review of the Nuphy on ShortCircuit for those interested.

  • $74 for Corsair TKL, MX Cherry red, backlighting and dedicated media keys, seems like a good price. Tempted but I just bought a new keyboard recently.
