You can only use the code once, so choose wisely. I grabbed the 1m. Thanks Clear

    • +1

You can use it at least twice as I did just now

  • +1

I'm not getting free shipping for some reason. Code applied. Any ideas?

    • +1

When you select shipping you don't see the free one? Or have you added multiple to the cart?

      • OK I see, a single cable. Still a good deal.

        • +2

I was getting $6 shipping by having 2 of each. The sweet spot for me is 1 3ft and 2 x 1 ft.

      • Are they fit for Ipads? Thanks for a reply.

  • Takes $1 USD off for the 2m one too. So $3.29 USD

  • Thanks. Grabbed 2m one

Does it work with the Pixel 7? God I hate this phone. Out of 12 usb-c cables that I have laying around, only two works with the Pixel.

    • OMG, are they so hard to work with?

      • +1

No they are fine lol, no and every cable I've got works.
Make sure you get PD cables for fast charging (and an 18-30W charger- my old one still charges if fast), but any USB C cable will 'work'. Not sure what old mate is doing.

    • I bought a new charger someone recommended and it works fine on mine.

Is this suitable for a external HDD? My new laptop only has 1 USB port, it's all the smaller faster version ones now but my cords are all USB to USB lol

    • +1

Not a very fair reason to hate a phone.. Every cable I've tried has worked for me, it's usually the power supply I have trouble with (Pixel 7 Pro user)

      • That's one of the reasons.
The power supply is from Google.

    • Only 1 powewr supply gave me fast charging on my 7 pro and that was the one that came with the phone. I want to buy another but don't know which one to get from Officeworks. Any suggestions please? Thanks

      • Not sure how much charging speed you're expecting as the phone only affords a miserable 23w.

I got a backup charger from this deal and it's working fine.

    • Dam that's unfortunate, I use my Nintendo switch cable to charge my phone each night. No issues

      Should I be doing that..?🤔

  • -1

Some of the reviews say that quick charge (120w) doesn't work.

    • +1

A cable rated for 100W charging doesn't do 120W charging. What's their point? They need a visit to Specsavers?

      • Correction: *100w

        • +4

I'd be curious how they tested it. 100W PD charging doesn't stay at 100W consistently. Neither does 15W, 18W or any charging in general.

  • Thanks Clear, got the 3m.

  • Went to select them, listed at $1.something, went into cart and they had been changed to $5 and $7, even after code. Removed and went to add again and they’re now trying to charge the higher prices to add to cart. Bugger AliExpress.

    • Did you add multiple to the cart?

      • Single or multiple, same thing.

        • Strange. I had no problem with pricing when adding to the cart. Got 0.3m one.

    • I find AliExpress does this sort of thing all the time, every time I add something, I go to checkout and the price is different. Then select pay and the price changes again…. When I first added them, it showed up as $0.14 for the 2m cable, however going to checkout it showed ~$7 and then adding the code discounted it by $1.44 - no idea how that all worked, but got 1x 2m and 1x 3m for less than $8 and I'm happy with that. I do however tend to avoid AliExpress for what I consider bait pricing, if the item is shown at that price and then changes when you add to cart that's just dodgy marketing.

      • Logging in will change the price. Is that what you're referring to?

        • You are correct, logging in can also change the price, but its not the only time it changes as I mentioned above, my experience is that the price regularly changes at just about every step of the checkout process. Even my order confirmation still shows different prices, overview page $12.66 and then the order details page $13.25 with discounts down to $7.24 which is what I was actually charged, the individual items actually add up to $13.24 which is only 1c off so not even counting that. Interesting that Tax is $1.18 for a $7.24 order, that seems really high but meh at the end of the day I paid the $7.24 and as mentioned tend to just avoid AliExpress

  • Bought the 0.3m cable just before bed, thanks!

  • +12

A cable I bought from them stopped working within months. When I raised my concern, they asked me to send the product back. I said that it is easier not to shop from you again.

Spend some more bucks and buy Anker!

    • +1

I'd agree with buying quality over cheap crap that ends up in landfill within months…

    • A $1.5 cable didn't last? No way!

      • I was hoping it would :)

    • +1

hmm. Some of the cheaper brands i buy like blitzwolf, baseus, or brexlink and wikipro have all been really good. Used for years, have not broken so far. Still cheaper than anker so you may want to consider

      • My point was probably around the idea of buying from a place you can actually return. I'll keep these brands in mind thank you.

I bought a pair of short lightning cables from Anker recently and they look very good to me and some cables are just sitting in my shopping cart in Amazon waiting for a discount.

        • +1

Yer those brands are better and orders and returns from Amazon are super easy

For $3.18 I grabbed one anyway.

  • Ordered! Thanks Clear.

  • Thanks mate got one

  • You can only get one?

  • Hmmmm….
Ordered and then I received a message "Your order is closed. Check order details page or more information". Order details page says "Your order is closed. Try to re-order later or remove coupon"
Coupon will not register on a re-order as "you have used the coupon the maximum number of times".
and yet - the Paypal transaction went through…

One of the dumbest ways to save a couple bucks is to buy shitty Chinese cables like these which not only won't perform at the level stated but might burn your house down with you and your family in it.

    • -2

One of the dumbest made up stories I've heard

Meanwhile people buy Baseus without realising they're rebadges from the same factory of many other brands.

      • +2

Happened to my friend last week - cable fried overnight and ruined a new Logitech MX Keys Advanced Wireless Illuminated Keyboard, lucky the house didn't burn down

        • Oh yeah and what brand was that?

          • @Clear: Not sure what brand, it was bought on Amazon or AliExpress. Not sure if it being braided made any difference

            • @x x: Knowing what cable and the charger used would be important. Either could be non compliant. There's a lot of factors.

              • @Clear: Is the cable in this deal 'compliant'? And to who's/what standard?

                • @magic8ballgag: USB-IF's standards. An example of a non-compliant cable is this. A USB-A to USB-C cable cannot be a USB Power Delivery cable and must be USB-C to USB-C. For an A to C cable to be safe it must have a 56k ohm resistor and without it it'll draw too much power and become a fire hazard.

With this cable being C to C and having an e mark chip that makes it compliant to the USB PD and PD 100W charging standards. To be 110% sure you'd want to disassemble the connector to see if there is an e-mark chip as well as using a proper cable tester (not an app) to see what it draws, charging standard it supports etc.

                  • -1

@Clear: For some reason I have a hard time believing this cable is compliant with anything at it's price-point, but I'm happy to be incorrect.

                    • +2

@magic8ballgag: Strange how people come to OzBargain for stuff cheap and then think it's fake because it's cheap. You're essentially buying from the manufacturer and skipping the middle man here. The manufacturing costs of thousands of cables is very small and the markup in retail outlets is very high.

Plus a lot of this is loss leading. It's been a long time since there were Cabletime deals and they had cheap cables all the time. Loss leading. Now they've built a reputation online and don't need to.

I don't do either of those two things, but one does question a product's longevity and quality if it is that cheap.

                        • -1

@magic8ballgag: Certainly fine to question quality but for someone like umexcuseme to make up stuff is another thing.

Precisely! OzBargain was whole other ballgame when I joined in eons ago. It was thrifty community, hacking through the market; now it seems just guys with plenty of disposable income wanting to buy top brand names at 5% "discount".

@wisdomtooth: I never really considered that. It makes sense why people go so wild for some discounted Bose headphones.

                          • @Clear: I'd venture to say there's been a shift in demographics, if it weren't too unPC for the speech patrol.

                        • @wisdomtooth: $3 for a PD cable is fine.
Couldn't get the same thing at Kmart for 20

        • 5V usually cant melt a cable like that, did he plug into on the other end of the cable?

    • +1

Just because they're chinese doesnt automatically make them shitty…
Pretty much all cables are made in china.

  • This 1m one is U$3.35+get and has a digital wattmeter.

    • USB A to C mate. The USB C to C is $4.08 USD.

      • Essager USB Type C To USB C Cable 100W/5A PD Fast Charging Charger Wire Cord For Macbook Xiaomi Samsung Type-C USBC Cable 2M

        • Yes that one is $4.53 USD. If you wanna pay the premium for the wattmeter.

  • Expired code :( (not surprising considering the date this was posted, but it's still showing up on the "top deals" sidebar)

  • I'm not getting the 100W from the cable does anyone else have the same issue?

    • What device and charger? How are you measuring if it's delivering the 100W PD profile or not? Remembering that it won't be at 100W consistently the whole time.

      • Thinkpad T490s and a Zyron140w charger https://zyrontech.com.au/products/powerpod-140w-gan-charger. It's plugged in but stays at 6% and not moving up.

        • Laptop doesn't have 100W charging. Does it work with other USB-C cables?

          • @Clear: Yes it works with the one the charger came with but I don't have it with me cause it's 0.5m :(. Will do a video when I get home.
