That’s a weird Amazon listing. The picture is of a mattress, but the description is for a folding bucket.

Edit… we’ll at least it’s a description for a bucket until you select the olive mattress in regular size… no size and regular side describes a bucket 😆.

    • Either the listing's borked or it's a mat for a very small person

      Material Composition ‎100% Polyamide
      Height ‎2 inches
      Length ‎8 inches
      Width ‎6 inches

Is there a device to inflate the mat? Or is it through manual breaths of air?

    • you unroll it then open up the valve for it to self-inflate
after a few mins it fills up as much as i on its own then you give it a few breaths for it to fill up completely

      • as much as it can*

  • So the vertical delta cores keeping you warm mean this is only good for winter?

    • it's nearly 30c tonight for me, i will try it and tell you how it went tomorrow

    • It’ll also keep you warm on a 1 degree night without a sleeping bag 🙄

The sea to summit one will last decades. The Kmart one will last months before delaminating.

I have several therm-a-rest's from 1990 that are still going strong. If they fail in another 20 years I can get a replacement for free as they have a lifetime warranty.

      Kmart sells disposable camping gear.

      • I have 2 self-inflating from big w that cost $15 I think. They have lasted at least 8 years, I honestly thought they'd last 1 year maybe 2 at max. They are still terrible mats but I'm surprised they have lasted.

my main complaint is comfort as it feels a bit small around the shoulders and length-wise and (im not that big at 180cm 77kg)
other than that it feels sturdy and is easy to pack/unpack, i think the normal price is $89.90 so don't go jumping on this "deal" due to fomo if you haven't looked at other options yet https://www.snowys.com.au/camp-mat-si-sleeping-mat?s=Regular

One of the best value mats. Light, well insulated, and packs relatively small. Self inflates to some degree and no squeakiness when rolling around unlike some purely air mats.

Got mine for about $75 using 10% price beat at Anaconda (another Aussie store had it on sale for about 83$ back then)

  • Note that the thermal R rating shown is in American units. The conversion factor is 5.7. So it is listed as R-value 4.2 (American) which equates to R0.7 metric (Australian).

Also note that the K-Mart one is not fully laminated whereas the Sea-to-Summit one appears to be. Fully bonded is much much better for performance and durability.

  • This is the Camp SI which is 3.8cm. Camp Plus SI is 7.5cm, a bit more expensive and heavier.. but way thicker and very comfy indeed.
