    60% off Clearance Sea to Summit Sleeping Bags

    So is the remaining 40% just a small puffy blanket?

  • -3

    Why did you leave out the prices in your examples ???

    • I'm sorry about that, bit of a OzBargain newbie. Cheers, Laine

  • Do sleeping bags really need a gender?

    • +11

      On average, women are shorter, have wider hips, and sleep colder.

        On average, women are shorter, have wider hips, and sleep colder.

        I wonder if that's how the male and female sleeping bags are differentiated.

        • yes

          • -2

            @dwbr: If the female sleeping bags really have wider hip areas, are shorter and are rated for those who have a lower body temperature overnight, I'm totally okay with that. On the other hand, if they're identifying female sleeping bags because they are coloured pink or red, that's complete garbage.

            • +2

              @dust: Calm down snowflake. The sleeping bags, and the colours can't hurt you.

            • +4

              @dust: Female sleeping bags have higher fill rates to achieve the same comfort rating as the male version. (as long as they use the ISO standard for comfort ratings)
              So basically if you buy a female sleeping bag you're getting a comparatively warmer bag and usually a smaller dimension for the same price.

          Do they do a 'yobbo' version?

    • -1

      No. General rule is bigger is better. The exception is when you are trying to minimize hiking weight.

      The flame is pretty good value but realyl only used for summer or shoulder season. 9C comfort temp is pretty low for most general use.

      Do sleeping bags really need a gender?

      Maybe they are anatomically 'fitted' ?

  • +1

    I have the Trek Tk1, this is a good price. You're paying for how lightweight it is, it's a hiking bag. It's definitely not for winter though

    • Appreciate the recommendation. I have an awesome -9c winter one which is overkill for hiking. Wouldn't mind carrying 1kg less.
      Looks like a $60 discount off the going price according to the Wayback machine.

      • +1

        Same here, I have one similar to yours for winter. It's good to have one of each

        • +1

          You guys only have two?

  • Heads up, everyone - stock has been hammered since posting yesterday. All that we have left:

    TK1 = 24 left
    FM1 = 20 left
