Wooden Floor scratch

Scratched the floor putting in a new fridge. Any ideas on how to patch this bad boy up? Already have put filler into it.

Bunnings recommends using a Waxstick, although Cabot also has a competing product that can help hide chips / scratches.

    • I’ve had very good results with Waxstick on some small scratches on my bamboo floors. But ‘small’ is the keyword there. I’m not sure how it’ll look in OP’s case.

That's more of a wood carving than a scratch!

    Knockdown rebuild for sure.

I'd sand it back and re seal.

Any fillers are going to stand out like a sore thumb.

  • Wax…

    or a kid's crayon…

    • Very nice advise. I like it

    Is that bamboo flooring?

Get some panda's to eat the damaged area and replace.

  • Depends if you own it or it's a rental.

    • Own - pretty sure th flooring is laminate now I've done some googling.

    Put a rug over it

Well the fact that you have put filler in it, kinda limits your 'fixes' now.

As above, the Waxstix method is the best, so you might need to scrap out the filler and have a 2nd go.

  • I would use wax but do it gradually and keep buffing. Me, I expect my floors to be a bit scratched up.

  • Is this laminate flooring? Or what is it? https://postimg.cc/JGHV21qd

  • Should have paid pros to do it.

  • Tibet Almond Stick.

  • Box of spare planks in the house?

  • Not an expert but that looks like laminate. You should be able to rip it out and replace it with a spare plank (if you have any)

I think so as well - I have a few lying around. Will go down this route I think!

I see at least 4 planks damaged….. OP needs to call in a pro to fix it.

  • Were there wheels on the trolley you were using to move it in?

  • Ignore it for now. Over time dust and grime settles in and the colour will blend in slowly And you won’t even notice it afterwards. Because you will have more scratches as you live in the house.

Leave it as is until you sell the house.

It must be fun living in a house with you…
